  1. hopefully Arsenal will be a sport and be the opponents.
  2. With Bertrand in the Olympics, this would have been the perfect chance for PVA to salvage his career here.
  3. Lampard and Essien can't play the double pivot at the same time.
  4. http://www.weaintgotnohistory.com/2012/7/25/3186862/chelsea-fc-are-beating-ffp-in-6-simple-steps
  5. He has to stay for atleast this season for the reason i gave above on this page.
  6. He seems to lack the mental strength, has never really recovered from that penalty against Blackburn that kicked us out of the Carling Cup.
  7. Kakuta made a bad move stating he is not going back on loan, if he believes he is good enough and can break in the team at some point then he should be patient and go on as many loans as the club send him on. Look at Bertrand as an example. If he made a play me or sell me demand at 21 (2 summer's ago) he would be playing for Nottingham Forest or Reading now and would be nowhere near a CL final or an Olympic Squad place. Someone needs to get Ryan to ring Kakuta up.
  8. Showing amazing potential but lets stay grounded with this lad, lets not jump on his potential too soon like we did with Kakuta and to a lesser extent McEachran, so basically no comments like "he will never make it, they don't trust him" if he doesn't play at home to Southampton" or "we have signed a midfielder, fuck it he must be sold" or "lets start him now week in week out, so we show the world we can play teenagers" because comments like that drive me up the wall as much as they are untrue.
  9. The thing with Malouda is he is a bandwagon jumper (so to speak), good when its going well but rubbish when it's not, basically his form follows whatever form the team as a whole is in. Hopefully with the new signings things will start going well again on a more consistent basis and Malouda will tag along with that status quo.
  10. credit where credits due, he was pretty good when he came on.
  11. Haven't the club given him until mid September off.
  12. He wont be sitting on the bench,he will be winning us titles.
  13. The point im trying to make is we have not won a Premier League title sticking to the same formation all season. If we stuck to the diamond in 04-05, Arsenal would have stormed ahead of us by Christmas, If Jose didn't ditch the wingplay in March 06, United could well have caught us and if Carlo did not ditch the diamond mdway through the double winning season we would not have won the league, let alone scored 103 goals.
  14. Because he is the best forward in the world (in my opinion). Because Torres is only one little knock away from another goal drought. Because he is the closest to Didier Drogba Europe is likely to see for a long time. Because he is a big game player, Torres isnt any more and Danny isnt (yet). Because Didier's departure has left a gaping hole in our front line, in more ways than one, if Torres has another stinking start (which is not beyond the realms of possibility, infact it is more possible than not) then the pressure is on young Danny to score goals. Bottom line is Torres as number one forward is far too risky, he has shown nothing to suggest he can reproduce the form that a team challenging for big honours need from their number one forward, plus he has no mental strength, look at Didier, he thrived on abuse from opposition fans, with Torres its the opposite, play him against Liverpool and he ends up back in his shell again.
  15. In 2004/2005 we started with the diamond then went to 4-3-3, then in 2005/2006 about March time 4-3-3 and the wing play was getting found out and United could quite possible have caught us if Jose didn't revert back to 4-4-2 with Drogba and Crespo up top. Then in Carlo's first year we started with the diamond, it wasn't until January we reverted back to 4-3-3.
  16. I saw in another forum a user suggest that Malouda might try and play his way to a new contract, he has point to be fair.
  17. Because most of their reasoning behind not wanting Cavani and calling him "Crapani" amoungst other things was Torres 'might' come good. We won't stick to 4-2-3-1 all season long, not if we want to get anywhere, yes we will start playing that way, but eventually teams will start to suss us so we will have to change, the system RDM decides to change too could require 2 forwards, which is where a Cavani and Torres partnership will come in, dont rule Danny out of that equation either.
  18. Look at the history of the premier league, the Champions almost always were the previous season's champions or the previous season's 2nd place side, there has only been 3 exceptions to the rule and all those times the teams went from 3rd to 1st, history suggest's that the title is usually between the previous season's top two with the 3rd place side having an outside shot.
  19. I said earlier in this thread this was going to happen, he is staying we better just get use to it and get behind him. Just be grateful the other 75% of the frustrating quartet are gone.
  20. I fully agree with Justin in this case. This time last year excuses for Torres were valid, not settled in London yet, lack of service, not had a proper break for 3 years, getting use to new team mates and yet to have a full pre season here. Yes they were valid excuses at the time, all of those excuses were wiped out last summer yes including the service excuse, the second Mata came through the door that was the case. The fact is he has not had one game yet where we can look back and say, that is what we spent £50m for, if we spent the same amount on Cavani he will probably be leading Torres in that respect after 3 games, at worse. The excuses made for Nando are quite frankly terrifying, ive was scouring through other forum's today and some Chelsea fans (ie members of the OTT Torres fanclub) were as good as protesting against Cavani coming here, a couple of people resorted to calling him Crapani  i genuinely could not believe my eyes. The bottom line is for most of his Chelsea career to date, Torres has been absolute shit, has made Kalou look like Messi most of the time.
  21. I swear i see this sign x player and y will be sold myth on every single thread these days. Cavani is 25, in 4 years time he will be 29, Torres will be 32 (most likely gone) and Lukaku will be 22. Cavani coming in will not block Lukaku long term in anyway shape or form, if anything Lukaku will learn from him and make him a better player.
  22. That would hardly be a shock
