This is why I was worried when we had that winning run, expectations became too high. The reality is we're not as good as we made ourselves look then and are not as bad as we're making ourselves look now, we're going to look shit against Bournemouth but equally there be times we out football Ajax in their own backyard.

5th to 7th and he would have absolutely not failed all in all, especially if the next generation are firmly established in the squad.
-
They use to say that when his Chelsea faced Brendan's Liverpool then when he faced early Klopp Liverpool. Even in our current form there's not a snowball in hell's chance he goes for the throat.
-
No chance. Even if things head that way Jose will shut up shop to reserve energy for the Christmas period.
-
Tammy failed to connect to two tap ins, Willian had another but somehow let the defender come goal side of him, we had a three on one that turned into three on five due to dillying with it. Mount and Willian had two other big chances. I very much put that defeat down to finishing, we opened Everton up constantly between their first two goals.
-
Second half against West Ham fair enough but Everton was lost due to dire finishing. We should have ended that game by half time.
-
A motivated Conte is great, which makes the second season even more hard to take.
-
I would only turn if we have a sustainable hit of performances like today. Other than that I think we have to rid these punches.
-
Conte unlike those two is a league specialist and most crucially wasn't up against two freak of nature sides. And personally I wouldn't want a short term hit again, even if it was for a title, we've done the title then collapse three times now, I'd happily wait for a while if we have a more sustainable model to build on.
-
He was but even so, he improved from that season when he started being rotated more and knew he had to perform or he'd be shafted to the bench if not the stands.
-
Reappointing Carlo or even bringing in Simeone would kill our chances of winning a league title any time soon, the formers won 4 in over two decades managing elite sides and the latter can't win it up against caricature versions of Barca and Real. There ain't a snowball in hell's chance that they will have the consistency to keep up with Pep and Klopp, even if Lampard ultimately doesn't prove good enough with the way he's operating and thinking ahead he will leave a team that could hit that level with someone who is.
-
I don't really think it's deliberate, it's a subconsciously happens with most players, even Lampard himself got a bit complacent at times (Carlos second season). It's hard to truly push yourself if you don't really have the competition.
-
From what I've seen at Charlton he can cover all over the midfield. The main thing is he's an option is Mount doesn't buck his ideas up as right now his place is too safe.
-
Its a big problem in the the whole of England as a whole even in the lower league's where you'd think fans would be more on it, I went to a Southend game earlier in the season and it made The Bridge even today look like Dortmund's yellow wall.
-
His performances have dipped ever since Barkley's been took out of the fold. Hopefully Conor Gallagher returns in January to pressure his place.
-
We miss Alonso in games like this, there you go I've said it. This performance was similar to Newcastle, only in that one Alonso buried his chance and today Emerson hit his straight at the keeper. Please don't mistake this for me wanting Marcos back in long term, but in games where there's little defending to do, he's the best option out of what we've currently got.

Im not, I'm just pointing out that there seems to be a lot more posting during bad times.

Already more comments here than after Tuesday night. Says it all!
-
He's tried that and the quality went too far down. He's rotating every other area of the pitch but leaving the front three alone, there's a reason for that.
-
Okay then let's do this another way, look at his windows at Liverpool bar summer 2018 and tell me hand on heart you would have been happy had we had similar windows.
-
He had to make do with Karius for two years because they wouldn't back him with a proper keeper until the funds were available via a sale. Now the Coutinho money's gone he's having to check out the bargain bucket for a new winger while his rivals are battling for the likes of Sancho and Haaland. You would crash this forum if that happened here and you know it.

I don't care about what the goal records say, Michy is crap in any situation bar emergency last ditch super sub and i can't believe anyone who's regularly watched him are still defending him or wants him playing even semi regularly. There's a reason he's only got more than 10 minutes four times.
-
2 assists and a goal tonight. Numbers wise that must be his most productive game since 12/13?
-
Don't get me wrong he's far from my first choice I just don't think he'll be anywhere near as bad as people think. Infact I've asked my freind who's a Palace fan and he almost wants this to happen because he thinks he'd surprise people by how well he does in an attacking setup.
-
Not atall, as my previous history shown I will admit fairly quickly if it's not working, I just find it rather odd that people are acting like a player who's played at a good level in the PL for many years (and carried a club on his back) is getting dismissed as some vanity signing from League One.
