I think it may be the Jose mark one and to an extent Conte's tenure's are coming back to haunt us a bit now, both basically clicked their fingers got us success which gave the impression that it should happen straight away or it's failure.
-
I've tried to deny this to myself for so long but we have a ridiculously impatient fanbase, by the far the highest in the UK.
-
Absolutely not. We've spent the last two years trying to progress to a more expansive style of football and now wasting all that work and reverting back to low block would mean we've literally wasted two years. Furthermore, we can kiss goodbye to a league title for a very long time if we appoint Simeone, he can't win it against caricature versions of Real and Barca and you think he'd have the consistency to beat City and Liverpool? Even if Frank doesn't prove to be good enough the way he's operating will mean he'd leave a platform for someone who will.

Different times, different circumstances. Jose would have kept his job if he had us a high as midtable, he was sacked because he oversaw an unprecedented all time collapse. Conte was sacked due to behaviour, the fact we waited so long proves he would have probably got a chance to redeem himself had he conducted himself properly. Roman didn't want to sack AVB but his hand was forced. Sarri wasn't sacked. Regarding the Robbie comparison, Roman never wanted him as a full time manager and didn't have the prior relationship with him. That said, I don't think Lampard is safe no matter what and nor should he be, but it will probably take a dive into midtable to him to be under pressure this year.

Tomori aswell, looked bang average at Brighton and Hull.
-
I can understand not playing that trio in big games but against every team outside the big six (aswell as Leicester and potentially Wolves) it should be the midfield every time.
-
Never said he is immune to critisism, it's the writing him off completely I'm finding hard to accept.
-
I think a lot of his critisism is well over the top but one thing I will call him out on is breaking the midfield trio of Jorginho, Kova and Mount. Them being the main three coincided with our best performances and results of the season, the Watford game especially was an absolute joy to watch and we dominated it yet that midfield has only been used once since, it's absolute madness.

Longer than two months of bad form as a teenager.
-
Well it's actually a kind of apt comparison because the general consensus is we gave up on him too easily and we should have stuck with him, now 5 years on we have a similar situation.
-
It's not a definitive science, it depends on a lot of factors. Salah for example was dreadful for us but in hindsight we should have carried on persisting with him no matter how long it took.
-
They can but he still as a raw teenager shown he can compete at this level (Pep was so worried about his introduction in the league cup final he instantly instructed a double up), and I know it's a big step up from youth League but he was at that level the star attacker in the most successful youth team since the Busby Babes. He's well and truly earned a bit of patience through a rough period, especially with his injury.
-
Funnily enough Klopp had the exact same critisisms thrown at him early on as to what Lampard is now. It took him two and a half years and two record breaking signings until his defensive word were fixed. That's not me implying we will turn into a century of points standard team within two years, but there's a lot of rewriting of history when it comes to Klopp, even LFC fans were unconvinced he'd build a title challenging side and we all know how biased they are to their own club and players/managers.
-
He's already shown he can compete at this level, when he returned he was doing one goal contribution a game for about a month and was good last season all be it against not great opponents for the most part.
-
He's not an impact sub, he should start or stay on the bench. He's been our best player this season so if anyone deserves to have a stinker quietly forgotten about its him.
-
Remember last season when Sarri said Odoi will need to be rotated in and out for a few years still and you all went ballistic? Who knew he was right all along?
-
I bet anything if it wasn't for that run in October Pulisic would be getting it from all angles right now. Regarding Ruben, he will hopefully be drip fed in for the rest of the season, I would recall Gallagher to compete with Mount till May.
-
Check my posting history, I liked/understood what Sarri was trying to do. You're twisting my words now, this isn't about comparisons, bringing CR7 up is to emphasize the point that even the very best young players blow hot and cold and won't build the consistency for a while. Some United fans genuinely wanted Fergie to go because of his persistence with him.
-
He's 19 years old coming back from a serious injury, Loftus Cheek is probably going to be underwhelming to shit for a while after returning aswell. This time last year people were comparing Bakayoko favroubly against Kovacic.
-
Sorry mate but unless your Messi every young player in the world is inconsistent, even CR7 blew hot and cold for three years.
-
Ajax, Watford, Liverpool in Istanbul, Spurs, the reverse fixture Vs Brighton we were all playing possesion/attacking football and played very well. Fact is we have two players in their prime in the entire squad, we're going to have inconsistent result and performances, it's unavoidable at this point.
-
It's interesting that the vow to be patient if academy players were playing has not only gone wildly out of the window, it's the academy lads that are being targeted.
-
We're giving academy boys significant minutes aswell as being in an early stages of completely overhauling our style of play from one extreme to the other. This type of inconsistency is inevitable.
-
Kovacic is not an impact sub, he either starts or doesn't play atall.
