Not sure how he is too nice to do that, when he literally did this with Aubameyang against City. It didn't work, but he did it. So nothing to do with niceness. Anyway I do absolutely believe he will turn this around if given the time. Just like Arteta did. I said this a week ago and two weeks ago as well, and I dont think I am changing my mind any time soon.

The fuss is about squeezing the deal as much as they could, maybe even hope they could still convince him to stay until the summer window. They probably knew they weren't going to get 100m up front, but negotiations innit. Makes sense for a team like Benfica, that lives so hard off their transfers.

Baby steps and all, but certainly another step in the right direction under Potter. I think it will be a bit of a rocky road still, but good performance all things considered.
-
Real shame he didn't get a goal today, but I was thoroughly impressed. Not just quick, not just fast feet for dribling. No, also a very good vision for the players around him, and with a bit more luck could have had an assist. Never seen him before other than youtube highlights, where even Marko Marin looks good, so was very nice.
-
It is very impressive. But I do think he has shown signs of aging (about time isnt it really?), and not always been up to his usually high standard. I would certainly not give him a 2 year deal.
-
Yeah no, that's not happening. Thank God, Potter will get the time and make this a proper team.

Very early days, but Badiashile looks like a very nice improvement. Hopefully Thiago Silva can keep this level then, or Fofana can come in and do well next to him when fit.

Without ever having watched Mudryk play, it feels a bit scary to spend that much on a guy who played so little pro football, at the age of 22. Hoping my fears are put to shame, but feels a bit... Scary.

No. He needs to stay and overhaul this disaster of a squad, and I believe he will get the time to do that.
-
He absolutely needs to get beyond the summer. Make his mark on this club, a team that is full of failures, a team that desperately needs an overhaul. For once I actually believe a manager will get that at Chelsea as well. Need to escort people like Chalobah, Koulibaly, Pulisic, Hakim, Auba, Jorginho and Kepa/Mendy out.

The French Maguire is really at it here. Clown.

It's not a bad point, but you also gotta remember the attacking players he had. They still managed to create a lot of chances, and although Xg isn't the complete truth, it does give a good indication of this. Last season Brighton had an expected goals rating of 53,6, but only scored 42 goals. They still ended 9th which is fantastic for them, but with some more money invested in good forwards, I am sure he would have had a team scoring a lot more. He has also shown he has been capable of taking the steps up every time he has been asked to so far. I remember people doubting him when he went away from the Swedish league as well, where he created miracles with very little.

Very excited for this, was the pick I was hoping (but not expecting) from the new owners. Honestly very positively surprised they took Potter. Also very glad Tuchel is gone. A coach who ends up turning sour with his teams every quickly (both when it comes to owners, players and general management), on top of playing horrible football. It might not be instant results, but I really think good times are coming with Potter. A manager who should have had the shot at a bigger club way sooner than this.

Chelsea absolutely can do that, when they stop believing in a manager. When the players also stop believing and the play is only going downhill for a long time now, they absolutely should. Btw he isn't really near the top % wise. Not near the bottom either though. But I feel like many were well happy with Avram Grant and Sarri not keeping their job. Both with higher win rates. Even Mourinho the second time around, is only 1% off Tuchels win percentage. The first time he was here, he was well well above obviously. On top of not being impressive on the field, he is also a figure that always ends up fighting with the board/management.

Better late than never. The down fall of his Chelsea side did not just start with the sanctions against Roman, it started months before that. Terrible football and no results anymore, and his personality on top, makes me very happy about this decision.
-
Yeah he only cost an extremely important goal by clowning around in his own box. That said, the ref is certainly also a fucking clown.
-
That's the thing though isnt it? Even when he is doing well, you are guaranteed a huge fuck up from him. That is not good enough at a club of Chelsea's level. He can fuck off back to a sub top italian club, the brainlet.
-
When the rightful anger at the referee is gone, can we discuss why Tuchel yet against starts Jorginho? Absolute fucking idiots, both of them.
-
How does the linesman not see that ball was out. Feel bad for the guy, and I would be fuming if I was an everton fan over such incompetent shit from the refs.
-
So it's official. Lets go

It's true enough Serie A isnt what it has been, and some players just fit into some leagues better than others. But we have already seen Tomori do well in the Premier League, certainly a lot better than fucking Sarr has.
-
Yeah so he can be sold like Tomori and Guehi, to buy more trash like Sarr instead

Chelsea 1 - 4 Brentford

Time for Terry to take over. -
Copenhagen registered Roony, who Chelsea are still scouting and been enquiring about, as part of their European team, over their record signing and so on. He's unbelievably interesting, I think he can go all the way in a couple of years.
