  1. Years ago Roy Keane committed a horrific tackle of Manchester City's Alf-Inge Haaland which eventually forced him to retire from professional football. He later wrote in his autobiography that he had done it deliberately as revenge for a bad tackle Haaland committed against Keane. So he had deliberately gone out to cause harm to Haaland, and was so succesful that he forced the player to retire. All he got was a 5 match ban and a fine which probably accounted to three weeks wages.
  2. If the Keane incident, where he deliberately went out to cause damage, so much damage that the player never played again got a 5 match ban, Drogba might get a 5 minute ban. But naturally, they'll be more harsh now. Keane should've been banned for life for that.
  3. I read the article wrong. I thought Cundy had played the joke himself, and as a result I thought he DID have a reason to apologise. My mistake.
  4. lol I see you came back 4 months later
  5. It would be excellent news, but we shouldn't risk him unless we need to. Have him on the bench in case Anelka doesn't put in a performance.
  6. What do you mean got no reason to apologise? I think he does somehow! Poor show.
  7. If it happens to them it could happen to us you know?
  8. Yeah but come on, this ban was punishing the Liverpool fans more than the Atletico fans. The ban needs to stand, but they were too late to issue it straight away. UEFA fucked up, and thankfully they've realised this, but they need to do something.
  9. Presumably items one does not need yet still desires
  10. If you go to another country you should make sure you know about their laws. Instead of proclaiming it unjust, like so many complain about the attitude immigrants who come over here display over the union jack for instance, realise it is their laws and their customs and respect them. I have zero sympathy for these two people. This wasn't a hidden law, they just had no respect for their hosts.
  11. Great result. What a goal from Juuuliaaano Belleeeeeeetti This team is fantastic!
  12. Sorry Joe Cool but that's pathetic. He's a back-up, he's not going to be a superstar. Give the lad a break. At least we've got a half decent keeper at 3rd choice, most teams just have a youth player.
  13. I don't see why I am wrong in my statement, but I see your point with the socialism. Thing for me is, you give one person, or a few people, power, and they'll abuse it. That central economic government would abuse their power, I'm sure. It's just a fact of life. People are greedy.
  14. What would we do rather than capitalism? Capitalism where we allow the rich to use their riches to make themselves even richer off the back of the poor... that needs to end.
  15. "Hey guys, we couldn't bear being the only ones suffering, so we thought we'd pile it on you too. Sorry about that... well actually we're not really sorry, fuck you all. Where is Iraq anyways? God bless America!"
  16. Oh, yeah. I was only ever talking about booing your own players. By all means, boo the opposing players. You WANT to demoralise them, don't you?
  17. Well it is a bit unfair really. This ruling affects Liverpool as much as it does Atletico, and as such is the wrong decision. It should be played behind closed doors in Madrid, except for Liverpool fans with season tickets or something like that.
  18. But are you paying your £45 to expect the players in front of you to perform, or because you want to support your team? For me it's the latter. I want the team to do well, and as such I don't think it serves my purpose to boo the players, destroying their confidence and their ability to perform as a result. They may be earning millions, but that doesn't make them any less susceptible to lack of confidence brought on by needless abuse. If you're just paying £45 to moan at rich people... well take a step back and realise how stupid that is!
  19. I think this will be his final season at the club unless he gets some opportunities and takes them.
  20. Because whilst we had strong suspicions, a case hadn't yet been filed and examined to prove so. So we just paid them to make the player ours first.
  21. Straight out of the Chelsea magazine, with the context changed slightly. Drogba is just saying his concentration can slip sometimes... just like anyone's. Not that he is especially prone to losing concentration.
  22. Sorry but that's a huge load of bollocks. There are far better reasons to kick Sudan out of the ACoN or whatever than that stupid teddy bear case, even though it wouldn't justify it anyway.
