  1. I at least thought Carragher would be a good pundit, but he's not even that, how the hell did he get the job?
  2. De Rossi is an excellent player, but you can't think so technical, you have to except facts that moving to a different league with no players who are from your country and don't speak your language isn't going to have an affect. It all comes down to mentality, technical skills come down to mentality, you have that instinct to cross a ball, truth be told technical skills don't exist it's your mentality such as creativity, decision making and flair what spark such technical skills. I don't think going out and buying more players is a good idea, it's time to settle down now and establish a team. We should put more faith into the youth, It has definitely improved over the years there is no doubt about it. We didn't have youth players 5 seasons ago like we do now, you can bring up the Stoch or Kakuta argument all you want but they were always overrated individuals who had one good game. Ake looks brilliant, he did really well in the 3 games he played, Chalobah shown what he was capable of at Watford and McEachran was excellent for us when he was playing a lot more 2 seasons ago, but didn't manage to pull it off in his loan moves. But it all comes down to the concept of all this, and the conclusion is should we be a Madrid or a Barcelona? That's not necessarily meaning we should go and train a Spanish team and look for new Messi's, or even spend 80 million on players instead. It's just a broad statement and nothing you need to over think, I genuinely think we should show more trust into our players and youth, because that's what makes a good TEAM. And I also think we are in a position where we can do it, the only debatable things are striker position and double pivot, we MIGHT be in trouble.
  3. How do you rate Falcao? I assume you think he is one of the best strikers in the world right now, and with good reason to think so. What would you say if we signed him for 80 million? When we could have bought Ronaldo or Bale instead? In a fair realistic viewpoint that would be an average signing. It doesn't mean the player is average, it just means the signing is average, as I said from a logical perspective. Ramires worth 21 million? I don't think he is. I would say the price tag is an average signing for the club overall, we didn't get him for a bargain and he isn't a world class player, so I would put it in the middle and call it average. Ramires has been a great addition to the side, he has proven to be vital the past two seasons, but lets look at the long term project here. Ramires will probably finish his prime when he hits 30, losing his pace will affect him big time. He's a defensive minded attacker just like David Luiz is, Ramires relies on his pace and it's his confidence. He's also very average as a footballer at times and has proven to be very sloppy. In the big picture he can let us down big time when he loses the ball, it isn't just one ball lost on the stat board, it's affecting the team morale and the way of the game for us. We are attackers, we aren't upwards and downwards like Spurs, we like to keep the ball and that's our game, or what we are trying to implement anyway. Ramires has large affect on that sometimes, his first touch can be very bad and it costs us in games because teams put pressure on him. I think overall Ramires is an average signing, but I'm not being disrespectful, he has been a legend for what he has done the past two seasons. But I'm looking at the bigger picture here.
  4. Ramires is a strange one, he seems like an average signing, I mean we actually paid up to 21 million for him in pounds. But at the same time he has been vital the past two seasons. Ramires's problem for me is that he doesn't have competition, that's why he is so sloppy at times, he's not the greatest footballer but he would do better if someone could actually replace him. Unfortunately we don't have many good midfielders to replace him with. So he's going to start every game and he knows it. If we could rotate Ramires with another player that would work very well, but that doesn't mean we have to sign someone else it really doesn't. Van Ginkel and McEachran are still in the team. Yes they aren't exactly the same type of player but that doesn't matter, Van Ginkel looks like a hard worker and a good player overall, McEachran needs more time, Middlesbrough was a bad move. I hate excuses, but this is my opinion on McEachran, anyone who doesn't rate him that's fair enough I can't shoot you down for it. John Obi Mikel, I think everyone knows I don't rate him, but show faith in him? Maybe it's the right thing to do. What pissed me off about Mikel is that he proved he was a passenger, he has very little determination and heart. Most players jump at the chance to get in the team when they can, Mikel was half arsed. But one thing I respect is that he has been here for a long time, he has played many games, he can still be of use to us as he has that experience. Maybe giving him some time can help him in the future. I don't think any player in the double pivot can be a passenger, because the pivot MUST be of key players, their are no additional players in a 2 man midfield. Perhaps giving him a chance will not be just beneficial for him but for the team in general, we have to think more about it here, we can't just keep replacing players with others from another league and country, it has many effects, someone like Mikel has already been in the team for years he knows the club and he knows the players, he's also obviously going to be respected amongst his team mates, I say we give him a chance this season.
  5. What the F? I take it you didn't bother reading my post. I'm not saying over spending is morally wrong. I'm asking if we are spending i the right areas and is spending exacly the right idea? Especially when we could maintain the pressure and gain stability not just in manager but also faith in younger players. An example of this would be like Dortmund, Arsenal and Barca, Dortmund have players like Shmelzer and there right back, yet they still play very well because it's there team, I bet if they went to another team they couldn't do it. Our ball game is buy quality, we see a player performing well at a DIFFERENT club and we buy him, is that wrong? We are already in a strong position with players are we not? So should we go ahead and buy a new midfielder and striker next season? Or do we show faith in other players and give them a chance to flourish into the team. Patience can really pay off, I personally think Arsenal will do well in the future because they have been patient and now they have a good team. Not title challenging but top 4 isn't a bad place to be in this league.
  6. Should we buy a new midfielder next season? Or should we develope others? A team can work hard and play well, maybe we could adapt the likes of Oscar there and keep him deeper. For example play 4 CAMS in the team at once, it's something we could do but would it work that's the question. I think going out and spending on a new midfielder will only set us back for another season, maybe I'm over exaggerating but I think if we want to be superior rather than being a Real Madrid we should stick to our players now and adapt them into a new system, a system we can all play.
  7. It's me driving them away, sorry mate.
  8. WTF, it's my first post in the thread today. Can you put your hatred for me to one side for once.
  9. CHOULO you where the one who started the whole Stats debate, and now you're trying to prove it wrong just because people have now started to use stats against you? Hypocrites at there best.
  10. Jesus christ where have you been? welcome back mate, it's been a long time.
  11. I still think Van Ginkel will have a role here, he played many times during pre season, that wont be for nothing.
  12. Willian usually plays on the wing rather than behind, so I think Willian is definitely going to get his shot, most likely right wing. I think Willian is a good player but again we just spent 30 million just like that? We didn't need him either, I don't know what the plan is but the board are obviously intelligent people, what are they planning on exactly? I just don't know.
  13. I implied that's what the fans wanted, the majority of people on here wanted us to get Rossi, even I did. But the more I've come to realize that it could've been a bad mistake and we should give other players time instead. We already have a young squad why should we ruin that and buy players who are finishing there primes? I don't think that will help.
  14. Since the start of this month I haven't been able to get my head around the purchases we have made. I look at other teams like Arsenal for instance, and they play much better football and rarely lose it up top. Now I'm not an idiot I know we will finish above Arsenal this season however you look at our play and sometimes it's shocking, even though we win games we are so sloppy and lack chemistry, will this get better? The sad truth is we all know Chelsea FC needs more players... So once the players get used to each other we just bring in another 3 starters next season? I was happy when we bought Van Ginkel, he looks impressive and there is barely any pressure on him, it's sort of a win win situation and it will help him be a starter for us someday. I don't want to be a pointless villain and complain about the spending, because I know two seasons ago I would of bit your hand off we had the players we have now, it's just that it's like a Madrid Vs Barcelona argument, and which route do we take? I know we can't just buy a whole bunch of 18 year olds and wait 6 years till they are full on starters, we can't afford that wait that is just unethical business behavior on our part if it did ever happen. I seen a post from TorontoChelsea earlier and he mentioned Chelsea are turning out the like a video game, we already had players like Moses performing then we go out and spend 30 million on Willian just like that, and then loan him out to Liverpool. I liked Moses, he was just the squad player we needed for the team, you need players like him to win the title even if they only start around 11 league games a season. However why all the attackers is what I don't understand, we have far too many to begin with yet we are still persisting on buying attackers and still aren't moving any players into a deeper role. However for the sake of this argument we may as well take a look at the pivot. Frank Lampard Ramires John Obi Mikel Marco Van Ginkel What is your opinion on that double pivot? I think it's a weak double pivot and hasn't been spent on much, however as all managers know if you give players time together they will develop something a 30 million player couldn't do. I'm not going to state my opinion on these players above, not now anyway, a majority will already know but I'm asking what everyone else thinks on the central midfielder. What's worrying me is that the argument itself is hypocritical, I want new players in central midfield but at the same time I don't want expensive players, and in todays price range a decent player is worth around 30 million. Should we give the midfield time? Can Mikel develop into a good central midfielder? will Van Ginkel catch on early and can Lampard still do it for another season. It's already been established Ramires is going to be a starter but just another quick question is he actually good enough? One might ask considering how sloppy his footballing skills can be. This system almost requires perfection, we have to keep the ball, we really lack that. We need the type of players who are hard working and are really good footballers at the same time. Someone like Jack Wilshere would flourish in our system, however we have no players like that for the double pivot. Kevin De Bruyne is someone I wanted to see there but to be in the double pivot you need to know what you're doing 100%. You can't keep going forward you have to know when to stay back and then take the time going forward, they know that depending on the game it's their duty. So forget the double pivot for now, I only highlighted it because it's the weakest place on the team, so as for my main argument, should we spend more? Manchester Cities problem is that they aren't afraid to splash out 30 million on a squad player, they just instantly want players. I don't think we are like that but we seem to be overcrowding with CAM's and kicking others out just for the sake of it, our spending is getting pretty careless if you ask me and that's an issue in my opinion not a club priority to do it. Or should we give the team time, don't spend on the pivot, maybe bring in one player or let the other players develop, we still have the likes of Chalobah, Ake and McEachran, they are very young players mind but we can still rotate them and play them often enough. My opinion at the moment is that we should not buy the likes of De Rossi and whatnot, that's just spending with no thought, De Rossi would be the only Italian player here and after years at club where he is going to play well and feel comfortable coming here doesn't seem promising he can do it like he did at Roma. Yes believe it or not Kojo actually thinks we should give the likes of Mikel and MVG time to establish themselves. But what's actually worrying me is that if we do fail and don't land for the title what do you think the consequences of our spending will lead to, so as for the main question is the spending wrong?
  15. I agree with this because it's a big post and something different.
  16. I already made a big post in the last thread and it was deleted, and I assume you read it.. It still stands as my debate.
  17. Swansea have been much better than Liverpool, they have really rode their luck this game.
  18. Writing City off now is stupid, it's been 4 games into the season. It's like writing us off now, again it's only 4 games into the season. I think the title is out of us and City, the funny thing is we've had the blunt starts but I think we will be the ones up there regardless.
  19. His finishing is inconsistent, he's one of them players that will score a hattrick in one game whilst having three chances, then get many chances in another game and come out with no goals. At least that's what I was told about his Laverkusen days anyway.
  20. You mean that theory where we lost the game? Shit yeah forgot about that, where is my pen. Nope Choulo, regardless how long the rivalry has went on, I'm the winnerz here,
  21. I never said you did, at first I thought it was actually true but I've found out it's just me, Mikel hate it's just like alcohol, it's not our fault... it's a disease! MIKEL HATE IS A DISEASE, AND I'M HALFWAY THERE FOLKS!
