I was just listening to the BBC’s World Football Phone-in with Tim Vickery and a listener emailed in a question regarding Lucas Piazon’s development. Vickery said Piazon is a gifted, technical striker with two feet who can play back to goal. But he also said he isn’t a stand-out talent and doesn’t understand what Chelsea have seen in him that has triggered the move. He also went on to say that the Brazil u17 coach (which Piazon currently represents) has said that there is no real big talent in that age group unlike the u20s which has Neymar, Lucas and a few others. I genuinely laughed out loud watching some of the dribbles in this video. God, how exciting would it be watching him play every week for us? He just has that element of fun which is for me what the game is about. He would be one of those players who when they recieve the ball you just expect something special to happen instead of another sideways pass like some of our lot specialise in. Neymar

It's very difficult picking players! It's much easier to say the positions. I feel we need to strengthen the following areas (listed in terms of importance); RIGHT-WINGER (we desperately need some sort of attacking threat on the right hand side and have done so for the last 4 years.) ATTACKING-MIDFIELDER OR SECOND-STRIKER (somebody who can drop into little gaps between midfield and defence and link play for us) STIKER (I would like to see both Kalou and Anelka let go this summer. That would leave us with Drogba, Torres and Sturridge so one more player would be ideal) CENTRAL-MIDFIELDER (we can discard waste of space Zhirkov and replace him with somebody useful) RIGHT-BACK (if we sign somebody to play right-wing then Ivanovic can become a defender instead of being asked to perform like a very poor mans Dani Alves. defensively I don't think you will find a better right-back in World football than Branislav so for this position we aren't desperate. So perhaps we could sign a young development right-back in his teens or early 20s and groom him for the future? one of Ferreira or Bosingwa would have to leave.) So five new players needed this summer, doubt we will sign that many though. Probably 2 or 3 maximum. De Bryune, Lukaku and Modric it looks like.

I don't see the point of this player. If the academy isn't producing players as good as Jack Rodwell then they may as well just close the thing down and stop wasting everybodys time. Mancienne was woeful against the Spain u21s and he's the player keeping out Rodwell!

You're right he seems very much like a Wenger type player. But I thought this summer they were going to go for defenders/experienced players. He would be a great signing for any team though.

If I recall correctly Mourinho said the following season Jimmy would have done a good job for him but it was beyond his control. I'm not entirely sure so don't quote me, I'm trying to google it but coming up blank. Either way Hasselbaink is a club legend and it's a shame he didn't win anything significant with us.

It's really hard to forget about the best and most succesful manager in the clubs history. Hiddink was a good manager for us and will be again if given the job. But for me he isn't better than Mourinho.

Pragmatic approach against a very negative, counter attack team like Liverpool were under Benitez makes sense to me.

It's not Mourinho's fault some players missed great chances in those games. I'm thinking mainly about Lamps at home in 04/05 semi, inside the six yard box he shoots over when it was easier to score or Eidur with the last minute volley away (that still gives me nightmares) or that we lost on penalties in 06/07. Get over it. If you hadn't noticed we didn't get to a final under Hiddink either.

And I have no problem with it. But to call Mourinho a coward when Hiddink did the exact same thing makes no sense.

We were very, very negative at the Nou Camp under Hiddink. Some people have short memories.
