While I agree with your overall point that footballers can and do recover from massive setbacks, I don't think any of those losses compare to what happened last night. That was the most brutal, devastating loss of all time in my opinion. The manner of the failure in a game of that importance; no club defeat even comes close. Absolutely gutted for Oscar at the end. He is going to need a long break.

Really? Good strikers are far more difficult to find than good midfielders, whatever the age. Our striker issues over the last few seasons is proof of that.

Most of his best work came through the middle. Brilliant pass in the first half that Vertongen wasted and he started off some decent moves. 6.5-7'ish out of 10 performance.

Lukaku did well and I'm very pleased for him but Origi is comfortably a MUCH better footballer. Lukaku would be a good option off the bench for us but it's the one role he seemginly doesn't want so fair play to him.

Besides a few people who have completely written him off as a flop/fraud, I think most people know he's a good player who just isn't performing like one consistently enough. I certainly haven't given up on him and I believe that goes for a lot of other supporters.

You sound upset. Oscar had an OK first half but was a total non-factor for the rest of the game. He can only get by on defensive work-rate for so long, he has to start doing more. And soon.
