My reaction to the Costa goal

We played Liverpool off the park in the 2-1 at home win and Willian was brilliant. It's one of the hardest working performances I've ever seen from a player. Beating Arsenal 6-0 was nowhere near our best performance of the season, they gave up early.

It's crazy how bad Willian's reputation has gotten over the summer, through no fault of his own. He went from being solid if unspectacular to Shaun Wright-Phillips.

Perhaps not 100% but it's not far off. Every forward needs quality service; even the best around don't create the bulk of their own chances/goals. The problem with Torres is that he's a fundamentally poor footballer in almost every aspect. The 'lack of service excuse' doesn't wash with him.

Mikel: Teach them, Mikel. Defensive midfielder. Teacher. Legend. I hope he slaps every hater in here in the face with his British passport in a few months.

My concern is that instead of actually solving the pivot problem we may have unwittingly created another issue(s); Fabregas essentially having to become a full-time #10 and/or moving away from Mourinho's preferred 4-2-3-1 formation and effectively having to restructure the side because of this transfer. A lot can and will happen when the serious football starts so we'll have to wait and see. One thing I will say now though is that he is incredibly slow and I hate that. I felt that was Mata's biggest problem with regards to pressing as he couldn't close opponents down quickly enough and recover his position when moves broke down.

Hey, it's only pre-season. We will never see that in an actual game.

Jose's recent comment about Modric is quite telling. Modric is a very different player to Fabregas in my opinion, had we signed him there would have been no need/use for Fabregas. Should have tried to find a player like Modric instead of settling for Fabregas.

Fabregas just might be the slowest player in the team. Even slower than Terry which takes some doing.

It's very easy to say these things when the chances of it happening are remote. The supporters gobble it up though; "WOT A LEGEND! WON'T PLAY FOR ANYBODY ELSE INIT. LOVE HIM." The next time a player says something similar you should accept it for what it really is: hogwash. Lampard was in a position where a move to Man City was feasible and made sense for him, so he took it. Fair play. He wasn't worrying about any Chelsea supporters feelings when making the decision. So to all you guys still upset: chin up, lads.
