It is possible for Chelsea to win CL this year? Yes. Are chances high for that to happen? No. But yeah, we do deserve some bloody luck in this damn competition and someone once said "Champions League will come for Chelsea when the at least expect it." You never know what football can throw out at you. How many of you expected City and United not to qualify at the beginning of CL? 0, but it happened. Keep the faith.

Aye. If anyone is loaded with experience of playing in the big games under immense pressure - then that is Chelsea. If anyone isn't - it's City. It is easy for them now when they win everything and everyone fears them, but when things go bad - that's when you need to prove how good you are. Matches like this can really be a turning point in your season. The only thing that would leave me angry on Monday is to see our squad get out there and don't give it everything and I really doubt they are going to do that.

If we win, the team will get a massive confidence boost that may see us win something this year. As Mancini says, "Football is strange" Don't get too excited though lads, don't forget our situation.

Chelsea Sack Andre Villas-Boas
termninja replied to Fulham Broadway's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Roberto Mancini leading one of the strongest squads in the world fails to reach the knockout stages. Sir Alex Ferguson, considered the best manager in recent history of football and playing in the easiest group fails to reach the knockout stages. Andre Villas-Boas, in his first season at the Bridge, leading a team under incredible pressure, tactically kicks ass out of Valencia and with a bit of luck ends 1st in his group. Do not doubt The Boas. -
listen to the Boas!
-
I noticed this lad some time ago and he impressed me and from what I've heard tonight he kicked United in the ass I believe he is worth keeping an eye on.

Ah I see, CHELSEA, one of the richest clubs in the world, to sell 2 defenders to fund a move for a midfielder? Not to even talk about selling Luiz for 15m when we bought him for 20m and something and selling Alex for 2m!?...

Truly one of the best strikers of the 21st century. I will be very sad when he leaves Torres is yet to earn my faith and respect, Sturridge is yet to convince as a striker and Lukaku is too young, but for me the right move would be to invest more in other positions like midfield and defense and use simply what we have in our attack unless the board decides to get rid of Torres also. It's pointless to spend 18m on a striker who will play in the reserves and then spend another 30m for a new striker that will prevent our 18m man from playing on regular basis and hinder his development. To bring Gomez from Bayern would cost too much and I personally don't rate him that much. Llorente is nowhere good enough. He's a decent striker but simply not worth keeping Lukaku and Torres on the bench. The only replacement I can see for big D right now is Cavani. There is Doumbia there also with a couple of promising strikers but again, like for Llorente, not worth spending the money and keeping our other strikers from playing.

Oy Henrique, it seems the stupid red beard got it right (again) last night ey? It seems the Naive-Boas ain't naive as some people like to think :toke: -
Here's a fun little statistic for you Ramires made the most dribbles in the PL. More then players like Nani and Aguero. I don't pay much attention to stats but the commentator said it last night.
-
Yes. 1 match ban applied to English competitions.

LMAO. Valencia didn't knew what hit them last night. We are in a great position right now, our opponents don't know what to expect from us now -
Drogba. 2 goals, 1 assist and great all around play. Then there are Mata, Ramires, Oriol, Ivanovic, Ash and Terry who were very good defensively, but overall, the whole team was on top of their game.
-
Happy birthday John! damn 31 already...
-
Incredible 45mins for us. Finally to see us use our chances and play defensively sound. Keep it up lads, nail the 3rd goal and kill the rest of the tiny hopes they have.

I would like to apologize for my recent recent !
termninja replied to Badboy's topic in Announcements & Support
It's alright to state your opinion, but it's not fair to disrespect Paulo like that. He has been a good servant for the club for a number of years, and maybe not the best player around, he still helped the club throughout the years and did his part. Anyway, apology accepted -
I'm going to be a bit different and nominate Laylabelle this time. RZA, KieranVogel, zolayes, Tomo and my favorite goat manpe deserve a mention also.
-
In the end, the players will ask to board to keep poor Salomon so that the fans don't pick a new victim Oh and poor Nando isn't bad, it is just that he doesn't get enough time and ball service :toke:

The interview with him has been released today in Serbian's leading sports papers. I bring you the translation From the south stand the crowd cheers, in the dressing room and on the field praises all around, and in the media the constant speculation over your future...but what is happening in the family of Lazar Markovic? - Nothing special. I don't see my brother Philip often because we are in a different school shift. My mother Marina is constantly telling me to study well and finish the school while I talk about football only with my father, Negoslav. - reveals Partizan's teenager who used the 2 free days after the victory against Radnicki 1923 (3:0) to rest in his hometown Cacak. How does that dialog look? - Dad is never satisfied with my performance. He tells me I must and that I can do better. I listen and take all the advices he gives me because I know he loves me and wishes me the best. And your mother? - With her I talk about different things. She tells me to study. Dad also tells me about how education is important in today's world. My parents are giving their best to show me the right path and keep me on it. How is your school going? - Very well. At least until when I was regular at school. And now? - Because of training and matches the school fell in the background a bit, but I have to continue working hard and finish the year well. (Didn't translate everything here because most of you wouldn't understand our schooling system, but you get the idea ) Do the professors have some understanding for your duties now at Partizan? - Well it depends... Could you explain? - Those who are Partizan fans do, but it's a bit tougher with the Red Star fans (laughs). I'm joking of course. Everybody is good towards me. (Rivalry between Red Star and Partizan is considered amongst the biggest 10 in the world) So, they will look on the other side if needed? - No way. I don't need that. I missed a lot of classes and I will work very hard to compensate it. Do you read the papers? - I do, why do you ask? Do you know that your manager, Ramadani, said that he agreed with the club that you will stay until the summer of 2013? - Yes, that is what I want. I want to stay with my club for at least 2-3 years to leave a mark and to continue my development. There will be plenty of time left for me to prove myself abroad. I know that I have attracted a lot of attention, but I still haven't achieved much at Partizan and I my thoughts are with that now. Short-term or long-term? - First we want to finish the 1st half of the season successfully, then to defend our double crown and after that, I dream of qualifying for the Champions League. How does your life look - You are not even 18, but already there is so much around you in the media and the big clubs like Roma, Fiorentina showing interest and waving with millions? - I would lie if I said that I don't read the papers, I know what the media is publishing but it doesn't affect me. I turn around the pages and forget it. Right now, I am concentrating on my football. That's how I was thought since I know myself - says young Lazar. Yesterday, an interview was published on the English papers "The Sun" in which, allegedly, you said that you will go to Chelsea. - No, no, no...it is true that I talked with the journalists from the Great Britain, but they twisted my words a bit. I said that Chelsea, after Partizan, is my favorite club, but not that I will move there. All my plans right now are tied to Partizan. You told the journalist of the newspaper "The Sun" that your favorite footballer in your childhood was Gianfranco Zola? - Yes they translated that well (smiles). It is true. I was collecting Zola's posters while I was a kid, I really admired the Italian, but don't compare me with him - the only thing we have in common is the hairstyle (laughs Lazar). Thank you Lazar for talking to us, we wish you all the best in your career.
-
I can't but laugh to scousers who actually though they could challenge for the title this year You are right, the media simply looks away (and spots Chelsea or Arse ) when they see LIverpool... At least we sold shitloads of Torres shirts while Liverpool couldn't do even that with Carroll

I can't guarantee, but yes, he probably knows it, at least basics.
