Im realy not sure Mata is good enough, I actually heard Valencia fans saying he's realy mediocre player, and he's VERY overated. Some of them realy hate he's play, they talk about him in the same way we talk about Kalou, Anelka and Malouda.

Do anyone even have an idea of wingers we should get after Sanchez signed in Barcelona, Aguaro is very close to City, and Boas already said we wont buy any of Porto's players because they are very expensive(Hulk)? We realy do need a winger, so if Boas will understand that finaly, who is going to come? Im under the impression that the few good options we had in this year's market have gone, so I have no idea. please(!) inlight me.

So you are saying that until we find a buyer for Anleka/kalou we cant put a bid for a player that we need? its clear that we need someone like Aguaro. We wont progress at all if we'll wait until someone will go, Aguaro wont wait for you, City wont wait, you need to fight for players like him. Thats a realy ridiculous way of thinking. Its not like Roman needs the 10 million pounds from Anleka's sale.

This guy is just what we need. Great passes, fast, can be agressive, very dynamic, creative, can shoot the ball well. (10 goals and 11 assists last season btw) And if we are going to play the 4-3-3, he can play all three roles in the mid. So when Essien will come back, he still can find his way to stay in the first squad no matter what, and Im sure he will. We just need to beat Juventus to get him(Bayren gave up from what I've heard from their fans), I think we can do it

St Abramovich, he said a couple of times that he dont want Parker as well as modrich. I have to agree, I dont think Modrich is the guy that will change our midfield like you think he would. If you ask me, we need to bring someone like Vidal, another winger, and thats it.

But dont you think that the fact that every manager we had didnt played him regularly, and did limit him, and didnt put him in a more advanced role, comes from the reaseon he isnt good enough for that? this isnt a option for you? Essien is so good because along side with his physical abillities, he has a lot of football skills and can read the game very well. Your saying its not true? He isnt known for being the best defensive mid in the world in the last 6 years just becase of his runs and tackels. Mikel has skill, the question is how much. Its a vaild opinion to say Essien isnt a footballer? Mikel is more creative? when did he do something creative? :mellow: I didnt saw many good passes from Mikel in the dangerous areas, its always in the center of the field, when the pressure is very low. He doesnt pass the ball for more then a range of 5-7 feet. You can noticed that easily. I even remmember a game that he set up a goal from a long range pass, realy nice pass tbh, and everybody jumed on him after the goal. You see, its very rare that he do something like that. Its redicilous, Essien on the other hand set up many goals for the strikers in his Chelsea carreer. I cant understand where do you see this creativity from Mikel. He has a nice touch on the ball, that doesnt say he's creative.

So your saying Essien isnt a footballer and doesnt have any skills. This is just embarrassing. Whats even more funny is that you probably think Mikel is a footballer with skills and stuff. And when someone would say about Mikel something like what you said about Essien, the whole forum would freak out. This forum is a MESS.

I realy dont think so. Essien was better then him by miles, at least until the game against fulham when Essien got his red card. Until december, Essien realy seemed like getting back to his best, seemed like the perfect midfielder again- scored some goals, and did great job together with Mikel in the midfield. Apparently people forgot about is great start.

I hope you right. I wish Ramires can play this role. Im sure he has it, I always thought he's the Next Essien, the question is if he has it so early, in his second season in the PL and CL. The main thing is his responsibility, I dont think he can be the responsible character in the midfield by imself. He(and Mikel if he's our holder mid) need to have someone like Ballack or Essien around them. Thats what I think from seeing them until now, maybe next season they will show they grow. And for all the Mikel lovers( ) who jump on every guy who doesnt rate Mikel like them, I got to say im hope it will be Ramires, and I will explain. First of all, I just dont think we should play with a midfielder who doesnt threatening the opposite team. Mikel doing good job on the defensive side, but he's far from being perfect in that area as well, he commit silly fouls, lose his focus sometimes, doesnt have the best instincts. So if you combine his non-existent offensive game, and his good but not OUT OF THIS WORLD defensive game, you get a midfielder who is good(with his passing abillity in the centrel of the field, does it very well actually), but he isnt a First 11 in a team like Chelsea.

I would say no, We need to bring another midfielder.

You really think that a midfield of Ramirez, Mikel and Lampard/Modrich/Whatever, will get us to what we want? do you think its enough for CL glory even? If Essien is really out for most of the season(And lets wait and see, ah? people act like the club release a statment already...), I think we HAVE to get a player like De Rossi. Mikel was able to fill out Essien's place in the past, but he had Ballack around him. now we have Remirez, and as far as I really like this guy and I think he is a great midfielder, he is not yet have that character to lead the midfield, and Mikel doesn't have it either. Those two need a Essien/Ballack type of player next to them if we want to reach somewhere. De Rossi is that type of player, no doubt. When I heard of Essien's injury I said we are fucked. Because the only proven midfielder that can replace him is that guy, and Roma will not let him go so fast. I dont think he will want to go actually.
