Same. Do 30 year olds really need to be told *eyebrow* 'Hey get your peckers up for this one, big game, important moment *eyebrow*

Surely people have to appreciate his job was made that much difficult with the (non) availability of options in the small squad? People say you need wingers but who's he going to put on when we don't have wingers? Bench Lampard, but play who exactly? Josh the 17 year old? Against weak opposition -yes it's possible; but against the big boys? Throw the boy in at the deep end and hope for the best? Don't kid me. It's easy to say that in hindsight when emotions are high but find me someone who'd rather wake up on the day of a big game and be happy to see Josh there instead of Lampard. You'd blame him for precisely that decision if we'd go on to lose. Truth is he's been in a damned if he does, damned if he doesn't position all season long. There's no fucking way Sturridge, Bruma and Kakuta should've been loaned out though. The genesis for this season's woes was laid in not replacing the summer exodus - FACT.

I said the same thing about Lamps-Essien and I was equally at loss to understand the continued selection of both side by side. Maybe he was hoping his big name players would rise to the occasion.Failed though, didn't it?

I was on topic all the time. But I'm not having a debate with you, for reasons aforementioned. My final view on the matter - of course he makes big mistakes, they're well documented. But he deserves respect for his achievements and the chance to redeem himself next year, a chance to continue on a strategy for the club. He's been undermined by player power and owner interference, though he's at fault for (seemingly) taking it lying down. I'd give him one more year.
-
Fuck this. You don't read posts, or purposely ignore the aspect of understanding their context. Carry on your usual ramblings.
-
Not gonna happen. Squad role - yes, sell him - no. Not next season anyway.
-
Don't shush me. I was referring to a point Styles made. Ascertain the context of my post before replying to it. If the league was so weak, why didn't anyone else win it? And how difficult is it to win the Portuguese league? There's no point trying to have a debate with you because you prefer to credit all the success to the players and all the failures to Carlo.
-
Nobody is scared. If you'd read through the posts on the earlier page and some of the other posts elsewhere, you'd seen several people advocating a truncated role for him from next season onwards.
-
And I doubt AVB would have led Chelsea to their first ever domestic double in his first season at the club.
-
Absolutely. Happy to see so many people staying away from the doom and gloom talks. Have some rep
-
Surely you mean for the 'promote to first team and give more opportunities' part?
-
Absolute quality goalie kit! Now my dad won't make fun of Petr's fluorescent shirts
-
Styles needs to stop being so apprehensive all the time. For once, let's assume that we will learn from our mistakes. I agree with you in sentiment btw, and I doubt anyone wouldn't.
-
All the people jumping on the Vilas Boas bandwagon - how many have actually followed Porto since he's joined?
-
Nah I mentioned the players we need to replace the ones to sell. The youngsters are there to fill a squad role.
-
Spot on. We're very disjointed as a team, Torres' arrival has a lot to do with that. The French clique needs to go.
-
Malouda Anelka Zhirkov Bosingwa Turnbull Drogba Ferreira* Hilario* * = they're out of contract anyway. Relegate Lampard to a squad role. I'd mention Drogba here as well but he's too big a personality to take well to being benched. He's better off at Marseille. Give more chances to Kakuta, Josh and Bertrand/PvA, Cork and Borini. Sturridge replaces Drogba obviousy. Get two wingers atleast, a playmaker and a quality backup keeper.

It's a sorry end to a sorry season and such a shame it had to follow the heady times of last year. Now this place will be filled with down-in-the-dumps/self-pitying/ranting chatter - justifiable according to some, not so according to others. But I'm not here to debate or discuss that. Just wanted to keep things in perspective and get my 2 cents in before the inevitable crisis talk begins. I say a big thank you to everyone connected with the club - the board, the management, the coaching staff, the players and the fans for caring so much about this one thing we all love in common. Some express that love more than others and some don't and that's okay. We react to situations in different ways and that makes us different people and that leads to arguments but as long as we all care about Chelsea I don't give a damn. I thank the likes of Paulo, Flo, Nico, Bos, Hilario, Salo, Didi - everyone who people say are about to leave, for all the enjoyment they've provided us over the years. In the heat of the moment I might have abused you and called your commitment into question and for that I apologize. I say thanks to Petr, JT, Obi and Branny for being the shining lights when everything around has crumpled so badly. I say thanks to Lamps and Ess because they're still my favourite players regardless of their current form. And the others I didn't mention - a thank you to them as well, for being a part of the Chelsea family. And last but not the least, thank you Carlo for everything you've done in the last 2 years. I don't know if you'll be around next season but I'll cherish the wonderful times of last year, and appreciate the memories of this year as well, even though not all of them were enjoyable. Chelsea till I die ... and after that. :cfc:
-
Why blame the players if they don't believe they can do it? Do you believe? How many people here dared to say 'yes we can' and how many were busy saying it's over and they're not going to watch the rest of the match? Fucking pathetic. It's time the fans started backing the club instead of doubting them. Or if you're gonna be negative and say that you don't believe our chances, then don't conveniently vent about the players' attitudes, because you're no better than the players!
-
Ah a sending off as well. Everyone is going to beat us up about this day for months to come.
-
This is what we do with Arsenal every year - let them play around the box and then pimp slap them with a couple of goals. Embarrassing.
-
My word look at Kalou's face on the touchline ... he's got the face of a seriously constipated guy lmao
-
Now they toy with us, make us run around, score a second or a third and we go out with a whimper. Perfect.
-
Right...and Anelka is the most happy-go-lucky, bright as rainbows person you could ever hope to meet.
