  1. You haven't missed much if you aren't a fan of internet arguments
  2. I know the feeling ... It sometimes happens with me that say for example I'm watching Roma and suddenly I break out into Carefree chants because Chelsea is what I'm thinking about even when watching other teams play Just hard to love some other club so deeply I guess
  3. Is that so? If what you claim is true, then I guess I'm doing a pretty good job :eyebrows: Chill out ... keep sulking about our chances, you clearly prefer doing just that. Just let others believe what they want to, without trying to portray yourself as being superior in some or the other way. Peace.
  4. Agreed. He's indecisive on the ball. Brilliant players already have a mental picture of where they want to pass the ball, they're aware of what their next move is even before they receive the ball themselves. With Anelka, his thinking is a bit muddled when in possession. He's almost always unsure about what do to with the ball and takes up too much time in making a decision. The opportunity is lost by then and defenders have scampered back. He's one of the most useless players to have in a counter-attacking situation. Which is a shame really because off the ball he's absolutely terrific and has great positional instincts. I'd still play him behind Torres for the second leg though. I think Kalou is better suited to that role but he's not 'all there' mentally at the moment, courtesy the situation back in Cote d'Ivoire.
  5. So everyone who believes we can win tomorrow is being 'ignorant'? Riiiight.
  6. Cheers. Where's that other fellow - Usmanov,I think? Wasn't it in the news a few weeks back that he wanted to buy the majority shares?
  7. It's all too easy to be pessimistic. Keeping the hope alive knowing only too well that they can get crushed easily - that is a brave thing, and it should be admired, even envied. Not scoffed at.
  8. I really can do whatever the hell I want, regardless of your all-too-often presented expert opinions. So, blow me. Hard.
  9. I know Bosingwa is bad but I didn't know you hate him so much that you'd rather play with 10 men instead!
  10. Cheers. I don't understand the reference but thanks for the reply I stopped reading at that point because I don't like to read about impossible situations
  11. Watch my local team Mumbai FC most weekends at the ground. Follow Roma in Serie A, Valencia and Leti in La Liga and Dortmund in Bundesliga. But the one true love is CFC only <3
  12. I'm like a girl at her time of the month. Can't wait for this.
  13. Oh look ... a striker thread! Sure haven't had one of those around here in a long while, have we?
  14. Of course, but I meant in Chelsea colours. I imagine he'd want to atone for missing the penalty that handed them the trophy 3 years ago. Can't argue with that
  15. The state of mind the team is in for this one is possibly the most important thing. The season hinges on these 90 minutes now and how we cope psychologically with this fact is going to be very interesting to observe. I made the point in some earlier thread about how uncharacteristically fragile we've been this season in the heart and soul department. How the likes of Terry, Lampard, Drogba, Anelka react to being faced with perhaps their last chance of grabbing the one trophy that has alluded them so cruelly over the last few years will go a long way in determining the result. It only takes a couple of shoulders to droop and people to feel sorry for themselves and before you know it everyone on the pitch feels like that. Everything is against us at the moment and they've got to harness that pain and sense of injustice and channelise it to send out a strong message. The big boys like the Terrys and Lampards and Drogbas will have to step up and win this and earn the millions they are paid.
  16. I'm going to stick my neck out here and say that I'd love to see Torres-Anelka start. Anelka behind Torres in the second striker's role. Benayoun out wide on the right and Zhirkov on the left. They're soft in their wider areas at the back and Yossi and Yuri's trickery could create chances. Zhirkov has to stay wide and behave like a winger though. Too many times his natural game has been curbed by sticking him inside the channel. Centre midfield though is the most crucial piece of the jigsaw as we saw in the first leg. Ramires picks himself and Essien rules himself out (if his performances are to go by). Lampard over Mikel is an obvious choice, considering goals is what we need and Mikel isn't one to look up to in that regard. It's a solid midfield if you look at it. Ramires' pace and energy compliments Lampard's game. Defence picks itself with Alex now available. So - ---------------------Torres------------------------- -------------------------Anelka--------------------- Zhirkov--------------------------------------------- -----------Lampard--------------------Benayoun --------------------------Ramires------------------- Cole-------Terry-------------Alex-------Ivanovic-- Drogba and Kalou on the bench to provide a more direct route to goal if things don't work out. But that's fantasy. Probably won't happen. Oh well. Don't think the first goal matters too much. We're going to have to score 2 anyway. But the timing of the first goal matters a lot. Get one early and this is as open as a barn door. Also, don't forget - if scores are 1-1 after normal time, we get an extra 30 minutes to score an away goal. Playing the second leg away is an advantage, regardless of what pundits would like you to believe.
  17. ^We saw how great those 'heroes' were in the 1st leg. Kalou isn't a great player and it doesn't take a genius to figure that out, but I agree with BLionheart when he talks about Kalou as a second striker.
  18. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p044zDMDl5Y ^ I want a repeat of this. A fucking offside winner, followed by wild celebrations in front of their fans. Just so that they know what it feels like, and what we feel every year in the UCL. Like Russell Peters would say, ''Someone gonna get a hurt real bad!"
