  1. I wub him (Eden, not Brendan)
  2. Found this comment on another site - "Funny how Arsenal only win something when they don't encounter Chelsea on the way"
  3. The commentator needs to chill the fuck out. He makes Ray Hudson look like Michael Owen. Ray's genuinely funny while this guy's just some amazingly annoying Bundesliga cheerleader with no personality.
  4. I'm not sure letting Matic go was a mistake at all, because he completely reinvented himself as a player at Benfica. It's difficult envisioning him hitting that development curve while being stuck in the u21s here or out on loan at whichever club we would have let him go to. The only thing I hope we've learned from that whole ordeal is to insert buy back clauses and ensure we don't have to pay through the nose for a mistake. I believe we have done so with Thorgan Hazard?
  5. Well Wenger is clearly a genius. Please keep him for 5 more years, Arsenal.
  6. Costa on the bench, definitely no serious injury then. Someone make Mikel climb down from the guillotine.
  7. He's had 1 red card in the entirety of his European league career before joining Chelsea, and that was more than 5 seasons ago, despite playing in Spain for several years where the refs have a reputation of being very strict with fouls. Yeah, such an out of control bastard
  8. Which is why I clarified that I would be fine with a 3rd striker so long as the other positions (that imo need it more) are strengthened. Now as far as Falcao specifically for that 3rd striker role, I don't think it could work, as detailed earlier.
  9. I think there are some misunderstandings. I clearly listed the reasons why I'm not feeling this move but if I didn't explain them properly, apologies. A third striker would be alright so long as it's not at the cost of the areas that are far more important (imo) . It has nothing to do with the order of transfers and everything to do with their necessity. Well if he's talking bollocks then I don't have any reason to complain, do I? Because then he's doing what I think he needs to do. But since for now I'm taking him at face value, he can only pleasantly surprise me
  10. Well, obviously, because there are such things called priorities. Firstly, I'm not convinced we even need a third striker. Secondly, I'm not convinced Falcao fits the mould of a third striker (read my post a page or so back about why I think so) and thirdly, according to Mourinho there'll be a couple of signings to keep some players on their toes - if one of them is Falcao, it means we're not going to be improving those other areas that need it more.
  11. I'd honestly place it 5th or even 6th, depending on what's happening with Luis and Ivanovic. RW, CM, CB >>>> LB, RB >>> ST. Oh, and there's the small matter of finding a replacement for Cech.
  12. I know, we actually did okay compared to the expected routings, oddly enough. Right now we're in the second qualifying round for the WC, our first appearance at this stage for 12 or 16 years (!!!) and we'll have to face the highest ranked Asia tean (Iran), among others. Realistically we're just hoping to do well enough to enter the Asian Cup without having to go through additional qualification rounds.
  13. India? I'm not sure we'd qualify even if there was an Asia - only 'World' Cup.
  14. No, no, no. At least 3 other positions need significant improvement.
  15. Great, some good Colombian chemistry on FIFA 16 UT.
  16. Big fucking yawn. Nobody gives a shit about what Wenger has to say.
  17. Don't know where you live but it's quite the contrary in the metros (can speak for Mumbai and Delhi), especially in the teenage - late 20s bracket. It's "cooler" to watch football than cricket there.
  18. Our third choice needs to be someone adept at playing that role, someone who has experience at coming off the bench in different situations and delivering or someone who can deputise well for the regulars when they're unavailable. Either that, or someone from the academy itching for opportunities. Falcao isn't that player. He has always been first choice wherever he's been and it would be alien to him to perform that role. That's not even counting the money issue. I don't think we need a third choice striker, we can always convince Solanke or Bamford to play that role. What we need is a goalscoring wide forward to distribute that responsibility more evenly. Bonus points if such wide forward can also play up top if required. Of course, if the backroom staff is convinced that Costa and Remy cannot be relied upon to stay fit throughout the season, that's another matter.
