Fuck me. No Mata or Sturridge? I hope you know what you're doing, RDM. Official site says it's 4231, meaning Lampard in the middle and Ramires + Kalou flanking him.
Drogba, Lampard, Cole will start barring a last min injury setback, it's the reason they were left out at Brum. Sturridge hasn't scored at all when Torres has been on the pitch, that's a dumbfounding stat, it really is.
I'm sorry but I don't get this "they're just laddies messing about so we should show some humour and let it slide'' sentiment. The club are absolutly right to be dealing with this sternly, can't have 20 year olds setting off grenades in the dressing room ffs. Cunts like Cole are a bad influence around the place anyway, everything must be done to knock some discipline into these impressionable minds.
How on earth did Bosingwa manage to keep Messi quiet as a puppy dog during that semi-final first leg? Watched the Barca game yesterday and he was incredible. There aren't enough superlatives to describe him, really. He scores when he wants. Thing that dumbfounds me most is his backlift before connecting with the ball - it's so short! Like a short arm jab. Pow!
Kalou gets too much attention for someone who's never going to start important games or feature regularly in other games either. We have bigger problems than Kalou, or Malouda for that matter. My last words re Kalou - Thanks for the goals but don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Noticeably performed better when Brum were 2-0 down and pushing up. Relishes space. RDM should not use him against defensive teams, Drogba would be a better option in those situations.
Exhibit A : Chelsea draw with Birmingham in FA cup : AVB under pressure Chelsea held to draw by Utd after going 2 up : AVB under pressure Chelsea lose to Arsenal : AVB under pressure Exhibit B : Spurs draw with Stevenage in FA Cup : Harry for England! Spurs lose by a 3 goal margin at Arsenal : Harry for England! Spurs get bollocked over by the worse Utd team in 10 years : Harry for England!
I don't buy the notion that Roman is above criticism because of what he's done for the club. Yes he has this band of yes men who are furthering their agendas, but Roman is no baby. He's a billionaire and a high-flying businessmen but it's hard to believe that with some of the decisions he takes that are akin to shooting himself in the foot. He goes out of his way to get these managers, pays obscene amounts of money to get who he wants and then backs out at the first instance of a little trouble. Why cannot he maintain a modicum of confidence in his own decisions? It's one thing for the board cretins to 'advise' him, but the final decision rests with him. He is the bigger culprit for actually believeing this bunch of cronies. Frankly, Roman doesn't know a good thing when he's got it.
