  1. So, Abramovic has already decided on transfer targets ... therein lies the problem.
  2. Some of the Benfica guys coming over here are real tossers.
  3. ^ That avatar depresses me. Sigh.
  4. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&prev=/search%3Fq%3DNUSport%26hl%3Den%26prmd%3Dimvns&rurl=translate.google.co.in&sl=nl&twu=1&u=http://www.nusport.nl/engeland/2774223/chelsea-talent-ake-ik-lig-schema.html Translated from Dutch, so excuse the language. OT : Shouldn't this guy have a player database thread?
  5. He's had a few hairy moments this season but yesterday he was world-class.
  6. Drowsy .. I've managed to staple my own thumb instead of a paper, got caught taking a nap during lunch hour by the boss no less AND gotten on the wrong bus to work. Really shouldn't go into work after just 3 hours of sleep.
  7. I feel implementation of both proposals alongside each other would clutter the tranfer talk forum because the second proposal in effect makes the first one redundant. Illustration - Player A is 'linked' by a(ny) source. Proposal 2 would create a topic in the 'linked players' sub-forum, and if the story happens to be from goal or tribalffotball or whatever, some or the other member is bound to point that out. Player B is considered by some member to be a perfect buy, so he makes a wishlist type thread. In this case there is no 'source' whatsoever, the question of reliabilty doesn't arise. Thus the two proposals, if implemented in conjunction, would lead to a slightly confusing scenario where threads could one of three types - 'linked and reliable', 'linked but unreliable', 'wishlist'. What I propose is simply to bifurcate transfer threads into 'linked' or 'wishlist' sub-forums. It is then upto the discretion of individual members to treat 'linked' threads with the seriousness they deem fit, based upon their trust in the listed source.
  8. I see some experts here are not satisfied with an away win in a QF tie against a team of Benfica's quality. Yes the buildup play wasn't pretty (in fact it was dire-bordering-on-non existent in the second half) but the team was sent out there with a plan, which they've adhered to and evidently got an excellent result. Perhaps it is too bitter a pill to swallow for these guys that the caretaker manager played his cards exceedingly well, especially after putting out a team they were hard pressed to agree with. If it were Mourinho in the dug out rather than the caretaker, it would be hailed as tactical genius. I like triangles in midfield and crisp, precise, penetrating passing as much as the next guy but excuse me if the season so far and observing this bunch of players at close quarters has led me to feel quite thrilled whenever they're able to pull off results like the one yesterday. I'll savour the moment while you bitter fellas stew over inconsequential details. Cheers.
  9. All talk, no walk from Benfica. Thoroughly deserved result .. dealt with whatever they had to throw at us, did the business at the other end. This is more of a win for RDM than Napoli was. The starting lineup oozed freshness and fair play to him for not going for the obvious and using the options at his disposal. Ferreira, Mikel, Ramires, Cole - all immense but MOTM for me has got to be that man David Luiz. Calmness and responsibility personified, it was a heartening performance from someone who's copped an awful lot of (unwarranted) stick from everyone and their dog. A performance of immense maturity and determination. It's still just half time in this tie and we'll need to maintain this level back home to go through. For tonight though, a job very well done. P.S - Benfica's histrionics were disgraceful. Really disappointed with them.
  10. Benfica have been disgraceful with their theatrics.
  11. That's handball, tbf. Bloody hell Mata.
  12. Benfica trying every trick in the book - making us wait, delaying the restart. smh.
  13. Only mild concern is about Meireles - could end up with 10 here. Get Lampard in and calm the middle of the pitch down.
  14. Both teams have worked their socks off when out of possession.
  15. Cech still can't kick a ball properly.
