The Future Of Chelsea Football Club
Duppy Conqueror replied to Jose M's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
i`m thinking once Capello has left, we (England) will play with a more modern formation..that can fit both players into the team even tho they are similar..like Spain can succesfully play with Xavi & Iniesta in the same team. -
The Future Of Chelsea Football Club

i think only a serious injury could stop him becoming a huge star for England in the future (i expect him to be in the next WC for us in Brazil and take it by storm)..and thanks to having a manager like Carlo, he will be for Chelsea also. -
No,i had no person on here in mind when i made that comment....just my own observation of how difficult it is to be a mod & admin on any online community, due to my own experience of doing it myself. yes,you did get it wrong but until you and everyone else get to know me better and get to understand me more...i appreciate you or any other member questioning me to clarify what i mean by the words i use, rather than taking them the wrong way...with the high number of different nationalities on here, i figure misunderstandings are common. for the record, if i make a comment aimed at any particular member,i will either quote the post that member has made or use their name in my own post....if i don`t then the post is not aimed at any particular member.

Should We Still Hate Liverpool?
Duppy Conqueror replied to gary gordon's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
mine.. Liverpool Leeds Tottenham Arsenal Newcastle because of their fans. because of their team, manager etc.. Real Madrid Man City Man U Barcelona Inter Arsenal Newcastle (because they employ the pikey c*nt that is Joey Barton) -
yeah absolutely...tho before Carlo came i held out hope that Jose would return to us...now if i had to choose between Jose and Carlo i`d rather Carlo due to i think him being better for what the club needs at present and in the future (next 10 years or so...though the way Italian managers age like wine..it could be a 20 year wait till we see a new manager, which i`d be cool with )
-
indeed he does and i think that comes from him having been a top player in his days, compared to Jose who learnt his skills through study...you`ll never learn more from second hand sources than actually being there and of course Ancelotti was coached by some great managers too. Jose although he was a player himself..he never had first hand experience of being on the pitch in big games as a player like Ancelotti did..nowhere near...so he can relate to what goes through the minds of top players more. Carlo is more humble i believe despite all that he has won in football over the last 30 years..i think Jose is more humble in private with his players than he is with a Mic infront of him..but not as much as Carlo. for Jose it`s "i`ve won this and I`ve won that"..with Carlo it`s "we won this thanks to the wonderful players and my coaching staff etc.."

after just reading that article on the official site...it`s great to hear how highly he rates Sturridge..and that Yury is very much a part of his plans for the season..would prefer to see him play in a more attacking role and to see what Ash,Yury and Malouda would do together on the left side of the field...surely on paper atleast, theres not many better left flanks than that in world football,if any atall...but obviously not for this game with Ash being rested.

i havent tried the link provided yet but on that post, Anelka is included. i`m delighted by Sam Walker getting the nod for the bench..great experience for the kid and Turnbull & Hilario are so woeful..i`ll roll the dice and say Sam Walker wouldn`t do worse given the playing time. great to see Josh there too...well done Carlo for having the balls to do it.

i agree 100 % bud..i think even if those youngsters struggle at times,we have a good enough team to compensate for it against the non-top teams... we would probably have the same number of points in the Prem if we played all of our games from start to finish with 10 men so why not "carry" atleast one in the starting line-up..none of them have done anything major wrong in the games they`ve played in thus far during their young careers. with that in mind the team i would personally pick is Cech Ivanovic Alex Terry Van Aanholt Ramires Essien Zhirkov Benayoun Sturridge Malouda bench:Anelka,Ferreira,Bruma,Mikel,Kakuta,Kalou,Turnbull if JT doesn`t pass fit..put Ivanovic at CB and play Ferreira bringing a younster to fill his place on the bench..perhaps McEachran. if all goes to plan with a comfortable score line and no injuries with 25-30 minutes to go..i would bring on Kakuta for Malouda,Bruma for JT or Alex . this could very well turn out to be a more frustrating night for us than we think tho..i think we`ll win but due to conditions with travel and the Zilina players being so motivated by probably playing the biggest game of their careers so far and us not being familier with the opposition. (their players may not be familer with ours from playing against them, but i`m sure they`ve seen our players in action many many times on the telly etc...it could be the trickiest game we`ve played so far this season...or it could be the easiest..we`ll find out tomorrow..

i have been admin on my own site for 7 years...it`s not something i would have got involved in if i had known at the time what i was getting myself into..a thankless task, where your integrity gets questioned on a regular basis,on the decisions you`ve made for the good of the community as a whole.....there are many arseholes in the world and the internet has given millions of them a portal to spew their hate. so i understand how hard it can be sometimes ,so whatever admin and mods on here decide to do about these kind of things..you unlikely to get any grief off me for them. as for how Tx has been since i`ve been on here..it just reminds me of the WWF "villian" characters i`d see when i was a kid....more Panto than anything else..maybe i`m just more thick skinned or something from my life experiences..but i`ve never been offended by anything he`s wrote on here, since i`ve been here..perhaps a lil annoying like a dripping tap on times when threads get derailed..but nothing more. i understand why admin & mods took the decision to ban him, when he has upset many people,it`s a tricky situation to deal with..now that he has been re-instated i welcome him back and hope that for the sake of others who his behaviour has bothered and himself, there can be some change from how he and others have behaved towards each other in the past.

Who will win the Champions League?
Duppy Conqueror replied to Jose M's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
well we should have won 2 or 3 already and this year i am the least optimistic ive ever been since we first qualified 10 years ago...mainly due to the fact that the strength of our squad is weaker than it has been in the past..well perhaps not weaker but definately with less proven players in Europe. so with all that in mind i have voted that we will win it...i figure we due some fair refs...to be cheated out of yet another trophy would bring too much publicity and U.E.F.A and Twatini would be in danger of being investigated and exposed for rigging games. looking at our possible opponents throughout the competition i cant say theres any team that i`d want Chelsea to avoid playing...would relish us knocking out Jose and Real. Barcelona? bring them on..is only David Villa who i think would give us a lot of trouble due to the lack of pace we have on the right flank...Ash always takes care of the Argie midget Messi.. i got a hunch we will win it this year and we will play a suprise team in the final..perhaps a Lyon, Schalke,Benfica,Fiorentina....somebody like that.. -
Ex-Blue Brian Laudrup battling cancer
Duppy Conqueror replied to Madmax's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
well..i`ll be honest and say he pissed me off a bit when he was with us,well not so much when he was with us,him and Flo were brilliant in an epic 4-3 win in a midweek game at Ewood Park.etc..and he won us the away game in Copenhagen..i used to love him as a player..(tho not as much as his older brother Micheal) it was just the statement that he made when he left, that he was homesick..(he had lived outside of Denmark since he was 19) so they cancelled his contract for him, then shortly after returning to Denmark he ended up playing in Holland. however i`m not a heartless bastard, so i`ll bury that hatchet now. glad to hear its not the bad lymphoma..cause with the bad one he would have had no chance..but i know someone whose has the milder version and although he has spells where he looks frail and about to die, he has got better..and is still alive 18 years after first being diagnosed with it. good luck Brian. -
indeed and Italy won a World Cup with a GK as their captain, many GK`s are captains on the continent...it all depends on the player rather than the position tho..
-
Aguero would have cost around £40 million and £160,000 a week in wages on his initial contract which would either be wasted if he flopped or we would have had to offer him a pay rise before his initial contract run out..i worked it out a few weeks ago and by my estimation if we bought Aguero and kept him until he was 30 ( for 8 years)..he would have cost us over £100Million. not really a deal i`d be comfortable with for just one player, who might not settle, produce the goods,or could have a career ending injury at any time and wouldn`t be a regular starter for us for the next two seasons at the earliest,anyway..and obviously neither were the men that matter at CFC. have said all this before on here..hope it sinks in this time.

Chelsea FC Youth 0 Sheffield Wednesday Youth 0
Duppy Conqueror replied to EskWeston's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
Dermot is doing a fine enough job for me...he states that he was pleased to see our youth players muscle up to physically stronger opponents and now his coaching skills are being brought into question because of it......i recall Jose saying words to that effect on more than a few occasions, but i don`t recall anyone questioning his coaching skills. -
Ancelotti plans on more signings for Chelsea
Duppy Conqueror replied to chrismada9's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
that would still arguably be the best back four in the premiership...if not the top one then certainly top 3. -
i hope we learn a useful lesson from this....that whilst loan moves can be beneficial...picking the wrong club to loan any particular player to, can totally derail a promising career. think this move would be best for all concerned...good luck to the lad,i hope he gets his career back on track..even if it means in 3 or 4 years time "experts" who only make comments after the event, saying that we should never have sold him.
-
anyway...i went for Mikel. great idea Manuf..thanks for introducing it...be interesting to see who wins the most monthly awards over the course of the season..
-
every one of them are worthy candidates..but the vote is just for one player..if it was who has played great ,with multiple options, then i`m sure Essien would had many votes, including one off myself, but thats not the case.

who has said Kalou is out of this world? If people "praise" Kalou more it`s due to the fact that people call him useless or "Kalouless" when he clearly isn`t. a frustrating at times player who could sometimes do better, but far from useless Duff is more of a winger in a 4-4-2 than a "winger" in a 4-3-3, tho both him and Robben weren`t sold because Kalou is better than them, but because they were/are injury prone and we had acceptable offers for...Joe Cole was better "in his day" ..so was Pat Nevin but it`s only the present and future that matters now. Kalou is indeed a good impact player and good squad player to have who can play any position in the front 3 and doesn`t sulk when he doesn`t start like a possibly more skilled player would do..there are lots of ingredients that go into a cake..you can`t just use cherries, you need eggs and flour to bind it all together and that is where the likes of Kalou,Mikel,Zhirkov etc...come in.

UEFA Champions League Group Stage draw

am wondering what Andy Gray has been sniffing if he thinks Rangers will fancy going through in their group..would be cool to see them do it..but Man U ,Valencia & Bursaspor...i think they got no chance, with all due respect to them. feckin` Man U having the scottish opponent again. would have been awesome if we got them instead..and a true "battle of britain" with both of us being league champions. -

Slovakia it is then Zilina.. easy enough for the players..travelling for fans and the experience in general, not so easy...will have to google Zilina to see where exactly they are in Slovakia..what their ground is like etc...
