  1. I suppose so mate. Mourinho must have observed what happened to the likes of Josh McEachran et al & is taking steps to ensure the same doesn't happen.
  2. Hello Everyone! As this forum is a hub of international members and members who have likely travelled before, I'm seeking some advice from you guys. My friends and I are planning a mini-travelling expedition in September over 14 days. We are planning, but this can always change based on your experiences, to visit Prague, Budapest and somewhere in Croatia. As 22 year olds we're looking for a mix of vibrant night-life but also areas to see & experiences. We're also looking for recommendations regarding hostels or any cheap hotels which will appeal to our age-group. If anyone has any advice/recommends anywhere else to go, I would greatly appreciate it. Kind Regards, LDN Blue.
  3. I sense there's more to this. Suspect he's struck a deal to escape any punishment by FBI or whoever.
  4. Of course, I do accept it. I just think it was a bit unneeded, especially at this dead-rubber stage of the calendar. I hope he does rise to it though, this could make or break him.
  5. There are too many comments on here that show similarities with the justifications/explanations of Torres' decline. Of course, if he comes, he will be given as much support from the fans and players alike but I just don't think we need to make this signing.. 1 step forward, 2 steps back.
  6. To say, about a youngster, that the relationship between manager and player has "taken a step back" sounds incredibly demotivating imo. We can only hope he's had a word in private to RLC assuring him these things happen and he still has trust in him. To doubt his injury in public too, not good to see.
  7. So ends RLC's stint as youth flavour of the year..
  8. Hmm, I'm not sure mate. I thought he was also impressive when Arsenal had a formidable partnership of Kos-Per (which was always doomed from the beginning to be frank). I haven't paid much attention to Kos since his last high profile pen (my memory leaves me as to which match)
  9. Haha touché, but you know what I mean. He identifies as a Spaniard, by opting to play for them, and so it's a similar tale of "going home".
  10. I don't believe this story anymore than the next guy. BUT he wouldn't be the first Spaniard that went abroad and wanted to go back home..
  11. Really, Kos? I mean I was a fan of his just as anyone when he was at his peak but that's rarely seen. Gives away too many stupid penalties and I don't think he's got any better in his decision making. I put him akin to Luiz, but Kos isn't as volatile.
  12. I found it amazing that people bought this whole "not his decision" thing. He's a grown man, he has a choice in the matter and if he didn't like it then he shouldn't have done it. Contracts are agreed by both parties, if he really didn't have a choice then it's breach of contract.. But as we all know, there was no breach because he did agree.
  13. Max I've missed engaging in these conversations with you. Hope all is well on your side!
  14. I do, I just don't buy this fallacy of this supposed "pay-cut". If everyone here is right about that, then fair enough I'll hold my hands up to it. I just don't think that will be the case, especially looking at his representatives.
  15. Good shout, but there has to be (imo) a place for Ashley Cole in there. Though he's moved on, you can tell how much this club did mean to him in the end especially when the rest of the world hated him. He was there defending the club through all, even Terry to the fury of the FA & players alike. Ash's loyalty must be commended, even though it's not worked out in Roma he'll always be one of us!
  16. I see my wire transfer reached you successfully Chou
  17. Touché. But I still would be pessimistic about the chances of that happening again.. 2-3 seasons ago this would've been the ideal signing because of the lack of any striker at the time. I just don't see the logic in this, we have Diego and Remy so all we need is one more striker to add depth. I'm not suggesting Bamford and Solanke, because I think the former would benefit from another loan. But there are surely cheaper options that will do the job, who is younger and cheaper. Probably just as able too. Do you have the link to this mate?
  18. Call me a skeptic but I think that 'paycut' is quite unlikely. When you live such a luxurious lifestyle you're not going to lower your demands to such an extent. Which ever way you look at it, it's paying over the odds for a second or third striker that simply isn't suitable.
  19. Really? £250-300,000/week (as quoted by most sources) plus a £45m transfer fee and that amounts to "2nd or 3rd striker"? Shevchenko and Torres. Two players that we signed for record deals and clearly not cut out for this squad, signed simply because of their name. Costa & Remy were smart signings, scouted and well thought out.. They contributed in abundance for fees not near what we're used to paying. Falcao is signing that signals name over anything, I saw a member even suggest shirt sales as a pro for this move?! If this club is paying those sorts of sums for a second or third striker then it's clearly going in the wrong direction. Sure, he could go elsewhere and become a success and we'd say "oh we should have signed him", but are we really in a position to take such a financial risk? Mourinho has said countless times how we're trying to abide by FFP, if that's true then this is a case of 1 step forward, 2 steps back.
  20. I had a similar one, on here actually! Henderson- Rodwell McEachran
  21. True. Once the staff/obvious mentions are nominated, it becomes scarce. But by then you can always revert to 1 member a year via Forum Awards?
