  1. I know what you mean, but Beckham's still a big icon here. He is a brand now. Tottenham fans, and Beckham fans would both equally buy the shirt just so they can say "I have a legend's shirt"... I'm sure you still have nightmares of his free kick in '01 that sent us to the World Cup Finals in 2002?
  2. in fairness, I think he was asked directly about Josh
  3. I like your Legend status by the way
  4. Nothing will happen, if it's supposed to, until the summer.
  5. I wouldn't pay much attention to that £40million loss. It hasn't taken into account the amount we've shaved off our wage bill with the release/sale of players/staff. Nor has it taken into account, so I've heard, sponsorship deals we've negotiated (e.g. Singha Beer & Samsung). You're right about revenue though. It's something we may be lacking, especially in shirt sales. Tottenham will make a killing from the Beckham deal in shirt sales, like Real Madrid have from Ronaldo's (& Beckham's back then too.). I believe, Terry, Lampard & Drogba's shirt sales are probably some of our top selling ones.. A marquee signing would be mouth watering for shirt sales I think
  6. Well that's the dream isn't it, work till you can retire, then enjoy it under the basking sun Welcome to the forum anyway
  7. that was brilliant! (especially because Norwich ended up losing that game)
  8. Carlo also said this in his press conference, Though I'd argue he wouldn't have done it anyway, I do see his point. I like seeing McEachran on the pitch as much as the next guy, but at 17 it should be done in moderations. What do you guys think though?
  9. Not here, but there should be a stream somewhere
  10. Sad, but true. Perhaps once we do have a good foot placed on 4th he may become a bit more adventurous. Though, this is more of a fantasy than it is a possible reality.

  12. And he's out till February with a shoulder injury.
  13. To be honest, I'd rather have us not going through, because we weren't good enough, as opposed to being screwed out of it.
  14. Very good point. Especially when the whole chemistry of your team relies on players who've witnessed all these events; Lampard & Drogba (Terry too, but he hasn't been so bad). That's why vs Inter we played so cautiously, the did not want all those painful emotions coming back because of a lapse in concentration.. Yet in over thinking, that very thing happened. It's a good point certainly. Which is why fresh players are essential.
  15. Haha, same old Chelse ey? I guess some fans won't mind Mikel being out as they don't see him being good enough. On other news, at least we know Zhirkov's got a calf problem. Who knows what's wrong with it though.
  16. You can NOT be serious. THAT'S THE LAST KIND OF PLAYER WE NEED. I sincerely hope this is not true
  17. Sigh http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6640964,00.html
  18. Hey Mark, donated £2 (all I have on my card right now). Good luck for the future!
  19. Haha very true. Stability = Trophies.
  20. Yeah exactly. One thing, we on here, have in common (which is rare) is our backing of Carlo. We may not agree he's the best man for the job, but we all recognise he must be allowed to stay and turn this around, till 2012 or till he walks.
  21. Have you been to/heard White Heart Lane on match day? (just as an example), it's one of the most intimidating grounds on England! My point (& Eldo's) still stands, until we get the footballing side in order, we should totally forget about a new ground. We haven't sold out yet, commercially, I don't really mind keeping it that way. And I'd rather have Roman still in charge. He shows a passion in the club, perhaps an obsession with the Champions League, but at least he comes to our games. He's there most the time, cheering us on. Which is more than you can say for other owners.
  22. It's not about the board. It's about that, once proud, atmosphere we had at the Bridge once. The one that sang constantly for 90minutes, even when the opposition scored. Now, even from kick off, most are quiet. Our away fans are much better. I firmly believe, at this point, there is no point in thinking about investing in a new stadium. Especially since our whole team needs rebuilding, the less of Roman's money we have to use, the better.
  23. He's right about that first part. When the winning ways come, these haters will be silenced again.
