A big boost that Arteta got sent off today. But they still have a powerful midfield, it's always hard playing them.. No matter where it's played. Last season, it has to be said, Cech was at fault for 2 of the goals we conceded. But having him in solid form will help us.

Haha well I had a good feeling about Aguero (yes, I was one of those..) and Silva to an extent, so I don't really get excited over these transfers. And you're right about Txiki. And Carlo's the type of manager that won't get into clashes with the Sporting Director. One of the good things about Arnesen is, he didn't interfere with the team directly, he and Jose got along.

It's like you said last week.. When Arsenal lose, so do we. Hopefully the opposite will be true too

Quality post. Kalou hate unjustified. Kalou is the fresher of both, important for a game like Newcastle. Plus, there's always next week. And I also like your endorsement for Anelka, a lot of people are questioning him now, but I don't believe he's slipping at all.

This guy seems like he'll start a 2nd wave of useless big money signings. I'm not liking the sounds of that if I'm honest. That being said, I do recognise our need for more/better players, but I don't think this is the man to do it.

So Carlo's announced.. Cech Bosingwa - Alex - Ivanovic - Cole Mikel Ramires - Zhirkov Anelka - Drogba - Kalou I like the defence of Ramires by Carlo.. I just hope, this risking of Alex, won't shorten his career later on.

But surely he should get on the bench at least. I've seen Carlo put people like Sala on the bench, but not Borini?!

Well kind of, but in this case the 2 midfielder players on the side of Mikel would not drift out wide. It would be defensive minded that 3 midfield line.

With Milan, Ancelotti used to play 4-3-1-2, I wouldn't mind see him experiment with that now.. Cech Bosingwa - Ivanovic - Alex - Cole Ramires - Mikel - Malouda Anelka Sturridge - Drogba Wouldn't be sure about Anelka being the man linking the midfield with attack, this role was played by Seeford at Milan. But it's still a good option, and would work better when Lampard comes back. But I can see it working, it doesn't offer much width, but then again, with Bosingwa and Cole in defence that problem solves itself.

1. Well he has declared his intentions to do so in 2/3years 2. Agreed 3. I don't think the point is about being away from his family, but more how football has become corrupt now. It's interesting what he says about agents signing players very young and those very players caring more about money than the game. If he walks away before 30 I will be very surprised considering how good he is.

I really hope it doesn't come to him wanting to leave. I hope Carlo took him seriously about getting chances!
