Don't think it's very fair to call Mourinho a "short-term" manager. He stayed with us for almost 4 seasons, and left because he was made to - Not because he chose. At Inter he went on record many times saying he missed the Premier League but still did an incredible job there. Him taking the job at Real was always a sure thing, Inter were happy with it and so were Real. That's his short stint, at Inter. There's no saying how long he'll be at Real Madrid, could be until next season or for another 5. There's no doubt in my mind his next job in England will be long term. It will probably be his final club job before joining country with Portugal. If he comes, as a result of Ancelotti's departure I'll be all for it.

I agree about that. But these are the wrong reasons for dismissal. Gray's comments don't really bug me as much, his commentary and quotes are priceless though. I mean for us here, we're used to him on SkySports so him and Keys are the voice of football here and it's kind of iconic. We ignore his comments anyway but that doesn't mean he's not a good commentator some of the time. If he was fired because of contract disputes or something then fine, but this trivial at best.

I can see why you'd think that, honest I do. But Term is right here. I don't think Carlo is left out at all, I think what he tell the media is said to keep away unwanted attention from 1. Other clubs that would be interested and 2. The media twisting the stories and speculation i.e. what we've seen/heard today with Luiz. Managers must do what is necessary for the club, including, lying to the press for the sake of confidential information. Carlo's no mug. He gets instant respect for his fabulous career both as a player and as a manager, I fully believe Roman keep him in the loop at all times. Perhaps not on the finer details like fees, but certainly on transfer targets and such issues that have an affect on the pitch, everything else I doubt he cares for.

I agree, but in the last 24 hours we've gone from "deal aborted" to "negotiations carrying on" to even "deal imminent". This is all based on rumour (the events mentioned) and we should not accept them at face value. For the next 5 days we should look at them but take them also with a HUGE pinch of salt

No doubt about that, he was great when called upon. However, if we're talking value for money.. £24million that is (which back then = A hell of a lot) I'd say his best seasons were 09/10 & 06/07, perhaps even 07/08. His step up came when Shevchenko arrived, his over all game improved a lot.. Then he had 2 consecutive season of brilliance which were worth of a 10/10 but personally I think prior to that he wasn't that great, certainly by valuation of the fee.

We don't know that, so I really wouldn't get bitter. I think the last 24hours of "action" has all been a media rumour.

Drogba's only had 2 great seasons, yet to convince me he was worth it considering what we paid. Ivanovic, Alex and Cole have been superb since we signed them.. Alex especially because we only paid £1million

You know, he's kind of right on this. But please note I don't mean to suggest that's right or endorse it in any way but what did they expect would happen? That everyone would just accept it and not make any kind of remark?
