  1. Yes, good point there. However I fail to write him off. There was, understandably, a lot of hype for him here because he'd demonstrated great skill on the ball and looked like he could walk into the squad. Of course, we can't judge him yet, but yes he hasn't grasped his chances properly as such. However the difference between him and Josh is. Josh has demonstrated he is more than capable when he comes on. So Carlo should use this, right?
  2. No I'm simply addressing those who come in this thread without reading the points first and understanding this isn't knee-jerking. I even thought the notion of sacking Carlo was invalid, but having read the points I see where they're coming from. My point of view depends on when we rebuild the squad. I'd like Carlo to stay until then because when the time comes for rebuilding I'd like our next long-term manager to have his squad. With this squad, I want Carlo here. I actually wasn't fussed about Kalou for Torres by the way But even with the Villa example I don't think anyone would've looked to Josh as being responsible. We would've appreciated him trying something new and positive for the club in the direction we want them to head. I know in hindsight this seems a bit fake, but I genuinely believe this Sigh, no. We are not plastic fans. This thread is proof of this..
  3. Loan him out where in the summer? All seasons will be finished?
  4. But you must understand his point? Example; Lampard was poor on Sunday, lost the ball a lot and couldn't keep up the pace. Why did Carlo not recognise this and throw on Josh? Especially when we went a goal down. He would've been the most logical replacement. Just imagine he was 19 (since age is a big factor for some people) and take into account his skill and maturity levels
  5. Yeah we heard the scousers more than the home ones
  6. Arnesen's policy is always to send them out on loan, never pushing to have them start off in the squad then working up. Like McEachran is. He's been training with the first team for the whole season so he has an understanding with them. To send him out on loan now would be foolish, to say the least.
  7. But why is it referred to as "rushing" if we're running out of ideas in the creative department and we look to someone with a different take to the game for inspiration? No-one's saying he should be a full-time starter, but we're saying perhaps and few starts to let him shine would help. I don't buy the myth anymore that he's too young, after all, it is about quality not quantity (age in this case). There are plenty of players who started their careers at young ages like this, look at Wilshere, Rodwell, Welbeck or even Lampard (who became a regular at 19 for West Ham United). McEachra has shown the skill and quality of someone twice his age, so why not give him the chance to show this on a longer basis. Whatever we're doing now is not working effectively and as mentioned having a thin squad doesn't help. So this urban legend we were going to use the youth might as well come into play now.
  8. Haha I still maintain the KID can play at this level of the game - Especially when he out-does Mikel/Essien
  9. No that's just Wenger's version of the Premier League But that still a pointless argument, we know Josh is more than capable of handling himself out there, he's done it against bigger defenders than him and still come away with the ball. This kid took on Chris Samba
  10. It's certainly more civil/less heated than other neighbouring rivalries
  11. Genuinely yes. I see us winning 1 of those games, if not both (though the likely of the latter is very low)
  12. I told you, you guys made some good points (when not spammed with :goodpost: or ) haha
  13. Time to prove those bas :censored: ds wrong then!
  14. If we fail to beat Everton it won't matter
  15. Yeah, and he had to do that under enormous pressure because of that stupid decision to book him in the 30th second by Mariner. It's a testament to his abilities as a DM
  16. The Bridge is hardly a fortress anymore
  17. Mikel is the only DM we have. Essien is not designed for it, he's wasted there.
  18. Yeah, well I'm not saying he should start every game. But hey, why not give him 70minutes at Fulham? It couldn't hurt his development, and he'd pick up a ton of experience.. You know he won't
  19. Doesn't matter if he's small. We've seen him take on 3 guys and still come out with the ball, he doesn't panic. He's intelligent enough to use the movement of the ball and his feet to play through such blockades. Messi is tiny, but that doesn't stop being a superstar. I'm not comparing Messi to McEachran, I'm saying being "big" isn't everything.
