  1. I still don't understand signing him if I'm honest. Yes he's a good technical player but I don't see his role in the squad. The midfield trio of Mikel, Ramires & Lampard is adequate enough without adding a 30-year old who can do the basics right. If we were looking to sign a "fill in the gap" player, we should've kept Michael Ballack.

  3. Jesus, look at those prices £175 for the 81-83 home kit!
  4. Good shot there Ollie, didn't know that.. They look very good, compared to the Arse one
  5. I highly, highly doubt that's true. A good player, but not what we need, by any means!
  6. Such a shame he felt the need to delete that. We'd never have such a reaction is someone like McEachran posted a congratulatory tweet for Joe Cole :S
  7. Both true, but we will decide the title TX, as we both still have to play you and UpTheChels 1 more time!
  8. Yeah, saw Fulham's highlights on MOTD today. He's really excelling with his control and pace, very influential when he came on. Could've grabbed himself a goal even!
  9. Glad VdS is retiring after this season. Maybe next season, everyone else will realise how good Cech still is..
  10. Yeah, I mean I only say I'd start Anelka because I wasn't happy with Kalou today at all. I thought he was the weak link today, losing possession and not being decisive enough on the ball. This season has been quite generous to him though, he's having a good chance to display some areas where he's improved. He put in a good shift on Wednesday, today he wasn't great, but he has showed he's not as bad as I once perceived. For the Tottenham game I don't mind who starts out of them. But I do hope, Carlo doesn't get distracted by the gloss of a Torres goal.. Because it's still not enough to warrant a change in a, temporary, winning formula.
  11. Nah not Torres, Malouda - Drogba - Anelka Thing is, Anelka knows how to hold the ball and control it properly. It's true he slows down an attack but when you're defending like a 1-0 lead (as we were), he's someone you want in the squad to just keep possession and maybe if the chance opens up to go for goal. Today when he came on he nearly scored one (the Torres pass) and assisted one for sure (again, Torres). I see why he's frustrating, but I think he's a better option than Kalou.
  12. Agreed. No need to change a winning formula. Torres hasn't warranted a start ahead/with Drogba yet. Though I'm willing to make an exception if we allow Anelka back in for Kalou.
  13. They say December usually gives a good indication of who will be fighting for what. April is supposed to reaffirm those suggestions. April is really the make/break month for those fighting relegation & going for the title. Last season was a similar story to this rule. As has this season, though Jan-April has been very interesting when it comes to the title + relegation fight.
  14. Ross: Maybe if I show I can balance on 1-leg Carlo will choose me!
  15. Moving on from the Torres excitement.. We've still got a lot of work to do in midfield. We could've been really punished today if West Ham had taken their chances. We're becoming more & more prone to counter-attack threats than we've ever had. When Terry & co go up for set pieces they need to get back quicker otherwise stronger teams will find that weakness within us. With Essien picking up an injury tonight (hopefully not a serious one) it'll mean more time for Mikel (hopefully) so that'll keep the balance. If Essien is out for the foreseeable future then I'd suggest our midfield were: Mikel Ramires - Lampard However, rotation between Ramires/Benayoun should also be taken into consideration as both come with their benefits and drawbacks. I prefer Ramires to Benayoun when starting games because Ramires gives our midfield stability and he's got the ability to hold the ball. His attack instincts are not as sharp as Benyoun's so if we're deadlocked in the 70th minute mark, then Benayoun should be brought on for Ramires.
  16. Vidic will have nightmares over an in-form Drogba + a goal-scoring Torres leading a Chelsea attack in 2weeks :champions:
  17. LMAO all the jealous United/Arsenal fans who realise the quality of Torres are all on a "look how long it took him to score" rant. Jealousy's a bitch
  18. My friend who went to the game just informed me, he'd met Frank Lampard Sr!!
  19. There's some Spanish conspiracy here David Villa broke his goal duck for Barcelona today too
