  1. Because on handed in a transfer request and the other's current deal was coming to an end? Lol
  2. It's incredible isn't it? I mean Kakuta justified a portion of his hype in the u21 Euro's with France. With Piazon it's 30minutes of reserve football.
  3. I was reading about the Bundesliga's state of finances and I came across this; This science seems simple, yet the EPL & club seems adamant their strategy will work better. It's clearly not because our commercial revenue is poor** *See ESPN's blog entry on the success of the Bundesliga here **See Swiss Ramble's latest post on Chelsea's numbers this last year here
  4. Yeah that's true, we're a team of DM's at the moment to be frank. At least the fruitless calls for an early promotion for Josh may cease with squad signings lol, whatever happens Chelsea must make the signings André wants, otherwise the same thing will just keep happening.
  5. I agree. But what we have now is names like Hazard, Gotze, Neymar, Lucas being thrown around that names that you mentioned seem almost inferior to those previously mentioned. It's like that argument about players giving a f'ck, even if we had that in players like Ferreira & co. People would complain how they're not good enough to play for CFC. Fans can't have it both ways, these days it's one or the other.
  6. Indeed, I respect André for that. But the power these players believe to have clearly reacted in a different way to what was expected, and for that they must leave. The problem we have in summer, however, is FFP. This year is not a year where we can have a major overhaul, in fact that just cannot happen now unless we've mastered some skilful negotiating abilities, which I doubt. I think people are going to be slightly shocked when it comes to incoming players.
  7. I'd throw Scholes into that mix. One of England's greatest midfield players, if not the best.
  8. It's a thing of madness about how true player-power is amongst our club. Yet, it's the board's fault for their open-door hire/fire policy of managers. After it worked with Mourinho they realised they could simply whisper to Roman & co. what they felt and it would be done. André was always at a disadvantage when he came. They knew he lacked experience, they knew him from before & some of them might even have been bitter from Carlo's firing where what they said occurred. Now they're clearly scared after seeing what happened to Alex & Anelka, it remains to be seen if Roman commits.
  9. Obviously doing it for troll purposes. Every club has their bad eggs though, I could link a few BNP Chelsea fans
  10. 'pairing'. I would much agree with this. For me, Luiz must stay in that back 4 no matter what, because he offers much more than a traditional centre-back. I agree Ivanovic is not that great as a CB as I think he is on the right. While Terry is out 'Ivanovic - Cahill - Luiz - Cole' makes sense for several reasons. With Luiz I think André's played it out perfectly though. Under Carletto he was nervous and reckless, André hasn't repressed Luiz's attacking instincts. He's even encouraged it (so it seems) but he's helped Luiz with his positioning and discipline. It's only natural sometimes he gets it wrong, as will Terry, Cahill & Ivanovic, but for now he's doing a fine job.
  11. Definitely! He was brilliant, held his own very well, doesn't look like the type you'd want to get into a fight with though
  12. But you did say Cahill should come in, which is simply wrong. David Luiz's abilities are superior to Cahill's, okay so he might make a little mistake here and there but he's been very good of late. There is a reason why he's the constant in that back 4, and everyone knows Cahill's here a squad player and nothing more. He hasn't made a costly mistake in a long time, he looks more assured of himself now.
  13. Great. Now we're going to get a pissed off Drogba back.. Wahey. Well done to Zambia though, after '93 it's a good tale.
  14. No. Let's not rush Courtois into the fold. While it's true you can throw a keeper into a squad earlier than most outfield positions there's also an issue of pressure and psychology. Looking at De Gea as an example, you could be assured of your abilities but once your weaknesses are exposed your confidence dies. This is, of course, true for any player but a keeper who's so young might not be able to handle that. I think we should leave him at Leti next season, let him complete his development there. Though you're right Turnbull & Hilario don't provide any pressure on Cech to perform and we can't use Jamal because Cech won't consider him a threat. Begovic (when we were linked) would've been a class signing to keep Cech on his toes. Thankfully though, Cech's not an immediate problem at the moment.
  15. Oh what.. I thought we had Napoli coming up first. Anyway, I don't expect any drastic changes. We lack personnel to make any. Maybe Turnbull will play.
  16. Now there's a debate.. Didier Drogba, is he the best African footballer of all time? Eto'o or Drogba?
  17. Lmao! Well then it shall work in real life!
  18. Lmao! Okay I do understand your frustrations, but I do want him to have another season to turn things around. He's on a 3-year contract, and I'm sure sacking him will cost us sums we couldn't begin to fathom for a case like this. Not saying that's a a factor in why I want him to stay, but it's a valid point.
  19. I agree, their ability strengths lie in other aspects of their game. However they're both a 'target man', to ask Lukaku & Drogba (especially the latter) to play in the a strike partnership where they both play in the centre is a big one. What usually happens with us is.. One of them will go wide. We forced Anelka there, we force Torres there & hell even Lukaku was deployed there once. The squad is too into the '4-3-3' mind frame to try and change that immediately.
