  1. It's not just the fact he's just come back from injury, it's the fact he's been like this all season. And it would've been all fine when he was being benched by André, which is what should be happening, but noises were coming out. The press were talking, he was talking, André was talking. He's not a total dimwit now on the pitch, his experience counts for a lot and when you're challenging at the top you need players like this. Because you can't just have new players all the time, guys like Lampard should be kept around if they're willing to accept they are going to be a bit-part player. He seems like he's not willing to do this, because he still holds England ambitions and still believes he's a top-player who should be starting. Therein lies a problem. We respect his legendary status & all, but it's a problem at the moment.
  2. I do want him to have another season, for sure. Come on, he's not that bad that he shouldn't be given a second chance, he's not some idiot that was taken off the street and done no research on (United singing Bebé analogy ). He did brilliant with Porto, not just in their league but in the Europa League too, remember he did win that tournament. He's had faults, but what's not to suggest he won't learn from them? I hold a hope of him correcting the flaws of this season, next.
  3. Drog & Lukaku? I don't think that would work, they're too similar. In a front 2 the strikers have to be different to play off each other.
  4. It's a great shame non of our rival-fans will ever appreciate someone like Zola for us. They might appreciate Drogba, certainly not Lampard though.
  5. Glad he's leaving now Best player the Premier League's ever produced. Arsenal ain't been the same since.
  6. I don't understand why the Government's sticking their noses into this. Another distraction by them to avoid the real issues of this country, what madness this is.
  7. Did he really say that? If so then brilliant, let's hope the penny has finally dropped now on certain aspects, like what you just mentioned.
  8. Not just for stability, but for a chance for him to correct his errors this season. He's young and he's learning, and it could be argued that he wasn't a good appointment because of that, but the fact is what's happened has happened. A certain risk has to be taken with Villas-Boas. The final product of his management style could be sensational next season, or the one after. To use that cliché, Fergie & Wenger did it, there's no reason with AvB cannot. I admit, even I'm disillusioned by this season, but I'm not writing him off in his first season. It would be just like when we were all blinded by Carlo's début season and chanted "King Carlo", ignoring problems that were going unnoticed because of the winnings of that season.
  9. Oh dear. I expected better from you Tomo
  10. You know shit's getting real when Styles comes back to TalkChelsea! Welcome back mate
  11. Exactly. Falcao moved from Porto (CL Qualified) to Athletico.
  12. And before labels start being thrown around here. We all have an enormous amount of respect for Frank Lampard, he's a legend, he was instrumental from 2005-09. But all good things must come to an end, all legends must cease their careers at the top eventually.
  13. Oh really? I thought they like him. De Rossi said it was he who inspired him to stay at Roma.
  14. Indeed. Roma would've been a great destination for André, because they adore Luis Enrique at the moment.
  15. Lampard represents what's wrong with this squad. Not making him a scapegoat, just suggesting he's a symbol of what shouldn't be in the squad.
  16. - Barcelona Sporting Director, Andoni Zubizarreta
  17. The comments on that article are interesting, to say the least.
