  1. Mata has found chemistry with Torres, whether it's because their both Spanish or because their actually good friends outside of football, which is why they combine for a lot of goals. It's hard to say that if we had a more able striker that Mata would strike of a partnership with them as well. Time will tell with Demba Ba.
  2. All it did for me was remind me of how he scored vs. Us in Moscow
  3. European Football. Even if he's not a regular starter, I'd bet you he'd relish that (+ the extra 0's on his pay of course)

  5. To be honest, I'm so disillusioned by the club's backing of managers that even though the OP has made a good point, it's just inevitable that all those managers would struggle to see 2 years of their contracts. Even if their debut season would be fantastic (like winning the double (a la Ancelotti) or even treble), they would be under enormous pressure to retain that feat. The moment they struggle their noose would be tightened. We're a doomed proposition for any manager looking to kick their career into another gear, so strike out Klopp, Moyes & Low.
  6. I fully agree, I think having Bertrand at LB is a solution that works for us. I only meant to comment regarding waiting for Shaw, should the club seriously be looking at him. It's like our right-back position, we have Billy Clifford & Todd Kane, but that won't stop us chasing someone else who's having their chance at another club. Just the way it is..
  7. The problem with "monitoring" is that the longer we leave it, the more likely someone else snaps him up. Bale & Walcott left Southampton around Shaw's age, which means clubs will be circling like sharks come this summer.
  8. We'll it's a stupid tackle but hardly a "horible [sic] foul". We've missed his cuntish attitude this season.
  9. I do respect Rafa's position with Terry. He's chosen to look at the defensive aspects over the leadership aspect, so he's looked at it from a football point-of-view. I think it's inevitable we'll be targeting a center back in June, we've only got Cahil, Ivanovic & Luiz (with the most latter dispatched at DM instead). This window could be quite problematic.
  10. Ah don't be fooled by that. Flashbacks of Gael...
  11. I thought he said he was retiring after Anzhi?
  12. That ol' word we love to use there.. 'potential'.
  13. Agh, I wanted him at his Udinese days. He and Terry can have a fun reunion
  14. You know this game doesn't generate much interest when TalkChelsea isn't put into simple mode
  15. Are you hinting at this suggested Isco conspiracy theory?
  16. But you could agree it's more minutes than he'd be getting here. It's just the way it goes at Chelsea. Chalobah, McEachran & Lucas wouldn't get near their fractional minutes at Chelsea than they will at their respective loan clubs.
  17. Lmao, that article was hardly 'recognition' all they talked about is how he looks like Gulit & Luiz then a few mumbles about where he can play and where he has Precisely.
  18. Europa would be fine, but he's got a better chance there playing week in-week out in La Liga. Here, he'd play EL maybe FAC but definitely not EPL. It was right for both parties, the risk is him wanting to stay - which seems to have become evident now.
  19. Piazon's words aren't very convincing. Sounds like he's very settled in Spain, so settled he wouldn't want to come back to the Premier League...
  20. Ah, Mesut Ozil was such a steal for Madrid, under £10m. What a player he's become!
  21. Shocking, truly shocking. If he genuinely believed it was a burglar then I do feel incredibly sorry for him, on this day of all days.
  22. Let's home Roman entices him into "talks" while José's in London :-D Meanwhile I hope he absolutely thumps United at OT tonight!
