  1. Lmao! That's who I thought of first. I recall they wanted Alex before he secured PSG, they already have Bosingwa.
  2. I'm not a massive fan of it, but I mean it was going to be difficult to top this season's. I like the simplicity of it, but it's a bit bland at the same time. Might consider buying, seeing as my last one was the 10-11 kit. £40 isn't the fairest price, but I guess it's okay if I'm not buying one every season. I think I'll go nameless this year too.
  3. Lol, basically! Nope. It's SkySports or nothing. I mean you can get a 'dodgybox' which unlocks all Sky channels, but they're a lot of hassle to get sorted. Champions League gets shown on an open channel one game/week. FA Cup too. The League Cup, FA Cup & CL final are also shown on open channels. In recent cases, there was a pub that actually got a European dish to unlock those channels and she actually broadcasted that in her pub. She got in trouble with UK law but she went all the way to the EJC and she actually won on appeal. So that's something that might be more popular in a few years, who knows! At the moment it's as you said.. Skysports or you get no football.
  4. Yea basically. Couple seasons back, streams used to be fantastic! Often even on par with quality of SkySports & ESPN. Since the massive crackdown by the FBI a couple years back (where streaming hosts, movie & tv-show hosts etc where taken down), quality has somewhat dipped. Sad state of affairs, but there's simply no other alternative :-\
  5. Out of interest guys, Is there any website, that's legitly allowed to show all matches for a fee? I'd cancel Sky and pay for that in a heartbeat.
  6. The problem with coverage in England is Murdoch-owned SkySports hog all the rights to the Premier League games. We have ESPN here which is given a portion of EPL, (the 17:30 k/os) but even those are so rare now. It's really disgraceful that SkySports are allowed to get majority rights and not allow competition with ESPN to allow them to show more games.. I get SkySports want the "big" matches, but they don't even let ESPN show the minor ones, that kick off at the same time, because they're scared of losing that little bit minimum of viewership.
  7. Thanks Spike! Does he have a presence about him, as Drogba & Ballack did? As in, while he scare the shit out of people when he runs at them
  8. I'd slot him in this infamous "double pivot". It allows him to exercise his passing range as well as allowing him to sit deep and make drives forward when it's necessary. Oscar is vital to our squad imo.
  9. You've answered your own question lol, we don't have that type of player yet. Modric would've been the vital signing among all these players.
  10. Average, I'll agree with. But the way some people believe Ramires can't pass, you'd think he has a 0% success rate. He's not a playmaker at all, so it makes sense that there's no real harm in the fact he's not a world-class passer. But that's why we have Mikel right next to him. I know many people will say Mikel's high success rate is down to side passes, but he's actually capable (and has demonstrated) of playing a delightful long-ball.
  11. But I don't think we're tactically set up to approach the game like that under Rafa. There's been a lot more direct play and instead of players going wide to cross the ball in, they're now cutting inside, taking defenders onto the byline and then sending it in through those channels. Hazard demonstrated it superbly yesterday when he made a fool of Clichy. I agree that they should be working on crossing, because Azpilicueta has very good dribbling abilities that can be exploited, however I just feel that from management, there's no emphasis on it.
  12. I fear the pedestal people are putting KdB in, will be his greatest downfall. It seems as if some people think he is an instant fix to our problems.
  13. Well to be fair. It makes sense Dortmund want him, as he is impressing in Germany. Not that I'm not agreeing, he should be given a chance to play in the Chelsea's first squad as his position is up for grabs. End of the day if Dortmund are to make a good offer, then it's understandable for Chelsea to sell.
  14. You still can't claim Chris Foy robbed us. Look at his position on the pitch when Komany had that chunk of his shirt. The fact is, we shouldn't be saying that one decision cost us the game, when that decision had to come all the way in injury time. We should've created chances long before that, and we didn't do it.
  15. No he didn't. We robbed ourselves when we decided to play let City play for 70 minutes & then decide to show up for only 20 minutes.
  16. A fallacy. Ramires is actually better at his passing this season, it's his judgement that's always been in question. But he's one of those that's going to be part of this 'new' Chelsea spine for a good while. Something we need, because his energy must be exploited in the last 10-15minutes of a game.
  17. This is my fear. I mean it's a very unusual marketing campaign they've embarked on this time :-\
  18. £20million makes me cringe. That being said, I haven't seen much of Schurrle to even begin to see reason why it would/wouldn't be a prudent investment. Squad depth is necessary however, so a player in that position, with that versatility can't be bad?
  19. I think there's just less emphasis on the full-back having to deliver the ball in. I mean the biggest change in the full-back department this season has been on them being a lot more defensive than attacking. But that's because we now have the wide guys like Hazard & Mata do put those balls in (even Oscar can deliver a gem of a cross). The biggest evidence of this is Ashley Cole's general play, he's now used more for a dummy run than he is an actual wide-player, it's more positive imo.
  20. Yea definitely agree about Lampard & Terry. Rafa's doing right in leaving these two out of the big games because of the points you've stated. It's just a shame that we don't have cover for their absence, but that alone shouldn't warrant their own inclusion in the squad. I'm sure the board is under no illusion we will need a new centre-back & central midfield player this summer, the only question is if it actually comes to fruition.
  21. This is a good point. I mean watching Yaya Toure yesterday, I just couldn't help thinking that Essien, in his prime, would've had Yaya in his back pocket. We did very well in acquiring Essien to be Maka's successor, even buying Essien when the latter was around. Unfortunately, we didn't do the same with Essien (albeit, his injuries couldn't have been predicted). There's still room for Mikel alongside a big, strong, centre-mid.
  22. I disagree. What we need is the players we have now to stand up and become the new leaders. We have players capable of having a presence; guys like Ivanovic, Ramires and Cech are all capable of being those fearful players. I support Rafa's decision to leave out Terry & Lampard, in the long-term it's beneficial for the new leaders for this team to emerge.
  23. I do believe this is a transitional season though. I mean we've seen the relationship between Hazard, Oscar & Mata click. We've seen a big improvement from players like Luiz & Azpilicueta as the season's gone along. It's not good for our league position, with what's happened, but there are little tells for positives.
