  1. What we saved in value for buying/trading for Ashley Cole we should invest in his heir to Chelsea's LB role. Shaw does justice to replacing Cole in the long term.
  2. Has he not? He's been consistent over 2 seasons and he doesn't look like he's slowing down. Agree Rio was prominent longer before United moved on but Rooney wasn't.. I'd say in terms of impact Shaw and Rooney are on par with exposure and consistency.
  3. Albrighton did really well around 2007 I think it was. Really showed promise with pace and particularly his crossing ability.. Don't really know how they've managed to mess him up at Aston Villa, but we'd be doing more damage to him.
  4. Great, we share the same away kit as Liverpool. Bleugh not a fan of yellow generally to be honest... What's wrong with black as an away kit?!
  5. Indeed I agree with TX. United have spent this some of money on English talent twice, once on Rio an once on 18 yo Rooney.. It's very hard to argue that over the span of their United careers that wasn't a worthwhile investment.
  6. YES PLEASE. Mourinho please go send him a cake personally with balloons and strippers and god knows what else!
  7. I'm sure it comes down to where the player is registered. When you're on loan you're registered with that club for that period.. and that club will be registered to the foreign FA. So officially, Courtois is registered with Atletico Madrid and thus the Spanish FA until he comes back where we register him to Chelsea and thus the FA
  8. That's a good question sir. IIRC it's 3 years from that bracket, hence the discussion about about Piazon's loan move. That'll need clarification however**
  9. Do we know that for sure? He said he was weighing up options after all. Anyway I guess now isn't the time for such speculation.
  10. Lampard would definitely not like that
  11. In a team of 25, the team need at least 8 home grown players. A homegrown player is, irrespective of nationality, someone who has trained in England for at least 3 years between ages of 16-21.
  12. Is this one of those.. place the ball in the image competitions?
  13. We could be fine too with the u21's who count as HG because we can just register them and it'll fill the quota. To be fair we're not as fucked as City. They've only got Hart. Barry & Lescott are out of contract, Milner and Richards have already said they're off. Sinclair will be off too. They might make Rodwell & Milner see out their final year.
  14. I'll still be cheering England on to the maximum! My exams finish 11th June, so the next evening I'll be hammered and be the most patriotic mf in my SU
  15. I fear we do start keeping guys like McEachran to fill the quota because it'll significantly hamper his progress and he won't play as much. It's frightening how bad it's gotten now. It means we either start signing 1. HG players for the sake of it 2. We target u-21's to add to depth 3. Sell non-homegrown players to bring in others. From that list it seems Eto'o, Luiz, Torres, Mikel & Ba could leave.. So we might actually be able to manage.
  16. So it's looking highly likely we'll only have 2 HG players next season? Lampard and Cole currently out of contract and Moses' future it up in the air. As I recall, we had a similar issue in 2011 or 2012? But we had enough u-21 players to get away with having a small squad as they weren't registered. Won't be able to get away with that coming into next season
  17. I've read reports about Liverpool and Arsenal being interested.. I almost spit out my coco pops in laughter!! LOL.
  18. Mate you have misunderstood me. As Skipper said, I don't want to see him here either because it wouldn't make sense for us and him alike. Jones needs a move lower down the table to reestablish himself. It's well and good having potential, but if you can't fulfill that potential then you're just another 'could've been'. What point I'm making here is that he's still very raw and young. Your judgement of him has come from him time at United and I agree on the merits of that he shouldn't be thinking about Chelsea and we shouldn't think about him.. Not until he's playing in his position again regularly and that's when you should judge him on his merits as a defender when he's constantly playing. I only compare him to Cahill because I'm saying once upon a time at Bolton he was a 23-year old establishing himself as the lynchpin of that defense and the difference was he was allowed to grow there. Jones may be guilty of prematurely moving but Ferguson is more at fault for mismanaging him.. Writing him off yet isn't that fair? Like I said before, I don't want this transfer.. Just offering you a different perspective on the player mate.
  19. My point was Cahill was 27 when we signed him and he really rose to establish himself around then at Bolton. Jones has been mishandled at United but to write him off at 22 because he's had a nightmare season is just wrong.. But he's still got plenty of potential and talent that can be utilised.
  20. His English is outstanding!! I feel sorry for him he says 'we' when he talks about Atletico in that interview and I'm sure he's gone down in letico legend.. It will be hard for him to say goodbye.
  21. Couldn't believe it when Tottenham sold him, I always thought he'd be loaded out not sold. Stupidity. Rumour has it they want him back too. On Stones, has great potential but he needs a few more seasons with Everton. Martinez is best for him and Stones needs to keep his head screwed on and develop with Everton before making a move. We should back off.. We have Kalas and Ake. We should trust in these boys.
