Not atm obviously but we will once Potter is sacked. My point was we don't look good and that is good because it will get Potter sacked. We only got CL spots last year because everyone around us choked, we weren't flying high and we definitely weren't league winners. 1. Spending 600m and not improving will point all fingers at Potter and he gets sacked. That is a win for all of us. 2. Half the squad will leave in summer and the competition is good for the old and the new players. Everyone should get a chance to get in the team based on merit. Everyone that isn't useful in someway to the squad by the end of the season will go. 3.Yes so by next season they should be firing. Those that have had their chances and haven't delivered (like Pulisic and Ziyech) will be sold. If the new signings don't deliver, they will be sold. I don't want to be the manager following Pep or Klopp. That is asking for it like Moyes after Ferguson. Any issues that hit other clubs should be cause to get happy. I bet other fans rejoice when we get fined or transfer banned. It happened with Juve after the match fixing scandal. Money isn't everything when the Saudis also have a club and the Kuwaitis are looking to buy. The PL will want to make an example out of City, so noone thinks this is OK. It is obviously more likely that they get a points deduction or a transfer ban, but I wouldn't rule out relegation or even stripping them of their titles. City were kicked out of CL by UEFA till they appealed. They can't appeal this time...

I'm more worried for our wetwipe of a manager

Keep Silva (as long as we can) Badiashile (the best signing this winter apart from maybe enzo) James Gusto Kovacic Zakaria (sign him if he keeps it up) Enzo (Thanks Eghbali!!!) Chukewuemeka Madueke Felix ( sign him if he keeps it up) Mudryk Nkunku Keep on thin ice (for one or two years MAX, if they don't improve then they need to be sold. Most of these will get some resale value, some can stay as squad players) Kepa (We have more pressing needs but he is too short) Chilwell/CuCu (one has to go for Maatsen in a couple of years) Fofana (if he doesn't recover to pre-injury levels Chalobah ( until we can sign someone to replace Silva at RCB) Kante (I say let go if he gets injured again this season) Mount ( He is better than Gallagher and can play more positions, which is better for a squad player) Sterling Havertz Broja (if he doesn't recover to pre-injury levels) Sell sell sell (as soon as possible, there is no reason for any of these players to be here as they have been or will be replaced) Mendy Azpi (keep for one more year if he really wants to stay) KK Ampadu ( hasn't lived up to potential) RLC (Can't believe he is still here. Hasn't lived up to potential) Gallagher (Keep only if Mount doesn't sign and is sold) Ziyech Pulisic CHO ( hasn't lived up to potential) Anjorin ( hasn't lived up to potential) Auba Lukaku Loan (some of these we can't loan because of the limit so they'll have to settle for carabao cup. I expect an exodus of youth in the next few years) Slonina Colwill Hall Maatsen Humphreys Casadei Santos Hutchinson Vale DDF

Fair enough, my point still stands though. If results don't improve, Potter should get sacked.
-
But Boehly and Eghbali have also shown a ruthless streak in changing something if its not working. They sacked Tuchel, Cech and Marina. They sacked the doctors. Even when its their mistake, they discarded Auba and KK will be soon. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of underperforming players are sold in summer. I don't think they will give Potter 3 years just because he is a yes man. Potter is responsible for the results on the field. If Boehly is falling asleep at a 0-0 derby with Fulham, something is wrong.
-
That is true there is a very fatal risk (but unlikely) of all the players flopping. The encouraging thing is the owners learned from the mistake of the 5 bad summer buys. With young prospects there is always resale value, unlike with donkeys like Auba and Sterling(more of a duck from his dribbling style). The recruitment has improved since the team of directors was hired and the data driven model seems to be a success as the quality of signings already looks so much better than last summer or even anything I've seen in the Roman era. Even under our best managers we made some horrendous buys like Mou (Kezman, Shevchenko, Bouhlarouz (although his second spell yielded less glaring donkey buys other than Torres, while we got Willian, Matic, Fabregas and Costa)) and Conte ( Zappa, Drinkwater, Bakayoko, Morata *sigh* too many to list). I expect less of this going forward.
-
So we will be back to 15 years ago when it was us and ManUre up there. Its amazing what Ten Hag has achieved in half a season though. If he had our squad he could do wonders. Theirs has a lot of donkeys like Maguire and McFred. Scary to imagine how they'll look when his rebuild is complete. We need to get a top class manager ASAP to be able to implement his style with the last few signings.
-
We haven't done what City have done. These laws did not exist when Roman did his thing and he didn't even get us sponsored by someone like Gazprom 😆. All we've done is use long contracts to spread FFP costs and the new rules for that will start in the summer anyway. There are 100 charges, if this was a normal business, someone would be going to jail. City will do their thing though. They have a super team of lawyers to deploy who will drag this out forever but I expect at least a relegation. It could even lead to them getting retrospective point deductions and getting stripped of their titles over that time. They will make an example out of them especially with Newcastle new on the block and talk of more Arab investment.
-
Look on the bright sides. 1. Potter is being exposed. This helps us because the owners won't back him for 3 years if he is obviously out of his depth. Once the squad can gel under someone else we will look much better. 2. The rebuild. We look so much better. Even though I think we have a couple of donkey buys that we will be stuck with for 8 years, we actually addressed some issues similar to that year with mourinho when we bought fabregas and Costa in the same window. We got Enzo and Badashile who had an instant impact on our team. 3. Everyone else is having problems. City might get relegated. Arsenal might choke the league. Liverpool are a joke. Klopp and pep might leave. Next season looks good for us. We can only get better than this. We just need a competent manager and a few key signings over the next couple of windows.
-
Do you think these players can cut it with pep? I don't think we can overhaul the squad again and comply with FFP.
-
They have been charged with 100 breaches. This is unprecedented. I think they won't escape with a fine this time. It might be a points deduction or even relegation. They will want to set an example with them. Pep and Halaand to Chelsea.
-
How will man city points deduction affect us?
-
Look what hes done with Tammy. He can do it, but he only puts in the time for his favourites.
-
I think people need to relax. He has spent all of his youth as a midfielder so he doesnt have the instincts of a striker (hanging on the last man to beat the offside, making space for the team) the only really good thing he does is press. He is top for offsides with 24, toney has 19 in second. I feel like he is feeling the pressure because of the new signings but has lost a lot of hunger and motivation. I like Kai so I don't want him to go, he will be like Muller at Bayern but he is technically better. He is still only 24 in summer and I think his recent performances have been related to mount as well. I think with Nkunku/Felix he can link up much better.
-
Cucu may start, Chilwell only played 10 mins
-
I think if the owners are content on keeping him, we should look forward to his 2nd season form being better
-
What do you think of Klopp if he leaves pool? I think we had the wrong german...
-
Welcome to the team. The yes man will soon run out of answers...
