I think he gets a PL loan next year (probably Burnley when they get promoted) and then the year after we assess whether to sell one of Chilwell/Cucu.
-
If he is availible, we should be all over him. Biggest regret was letting him go after winning the double.

https://theathletic.com/4171421/2023/02/10/Chelsea-selling-lukaku-pulisic-ziyech/ SUMMARY * Boehly and Clearlake believe the depictions of the financial risk they have taken during these first seven months of ownership are overstated. * The new owners are adamant deals for Mudryk, Enzo and W. Fofana fit into a broader push to bring the wage bill down to a more sensible, sustainable level, with compensation also tied to playing time and Champions League participation. * The focus is now on new homes for a significant number of Abramovich signings who are on “Chelsea premium” contracts that still have several years left to run. * Timo Werner was the first deal in this process, he had a remaining value in the books of £28.5m and was sold for £25m, taking a slight loss, but offloading his large wages, and freeing up squad space. * Lukaku remains an issue. This summer, he will have a book value of £58.5m. From an FFP perspective, a second loan to Inter is likely, unless Potter wants him back. * Boehly and Clearlake will need to make a decision about Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech and Kepa Arrizabalaga, three good footballers who have seen their market value affected by mediocre performances and large salary deals. * Kalidou Koulibaly and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are also highly paid players towards the end of their careers who will be difficult to move on. * Boehly and Clearlake will find it difficult to emulate the track record of Marina Granovskaia primarily due to the profound changes in the landscape of the transfer market since those deals were done. * Europe’s biggest clubs can still pay Premier League salaries but are rarely in the market for expensive and underperforming Premier League assets. * Unless Chinese clubs are suddenly granted renewed licence to pour the kind of money into the European transfer market that they did in the mid-2010s, Chelsea’s best hope of realising any significant value for players they no longer want or need, will be selling to other Premier League clubs.

@Vesper You said something about signing harwood bellis. I found this on the MCFC daily discussion thread on reddit. Can't find any credible source of an altercation

We could use him to get Barella, although he is a pipedream. Imagine an Enzo Barella pivot.

My list Keep Silva (as long as we can) Badiashile (the best signing this winter apart from maybe enzo) James Gusto Kovacic Zakaria (sign him if he keeps it up) Enzo (Thanks Eghbali!!!) Chukewuemeka Madueke Felix ( sign him if he keeps it up) Mudryk Nkunku Keep on thin ice (for one or two years MAX, if they don't improve then they need to be sold. Most of these will get some resale value, some can stay as squad players) Kepa (We have more pressing needs but he is too short) Chilwell/CuCu (one has to go for Maatsen in a couple of years) Fofana (if he doesn't recover to pre-injury levels Chalobah ( until we can sign someone to replace Silva at RCB) Kante (I say let go if he gets injured again this season) Mount ( He is better than Gallagher and can play more positions, which is better for a squad player) Sterling Havertz Broja (if he doesn't recover to pre-injury levels) Sell sell sell (as soon as possible, there is no reason for any of these players to be here as they have been or will be replaced) Mendy Azpi (keep for one more year if he really wants to stay) KK Ampadu ( hasn't lived up to potential) Bakayoko Sarr (worst signing in a decade) RLC (Can't believe he is still here. Hasn't lived up to potential) Gallagher (Keep only if Mount doesn't sign and is sold) Ziyech Pulisic CHO ( hasn't lived up to potential) Anjorin ( hasn't lived up to potential) Auba Lukaku Loan (some of these we can't loan because of the limit so they'll have to settle for carabao cup. I expect an exodus of youth in the next few years) Slonina Colwill Hall Maatsen Humphreys Casadei Santos Hutchinson Vale DDF

The Microsoft one reminds me of that field they used to put as the wallpaper.

He is getting banned for sure. I don't see how he gets out of it, others have been banned for less. Regardless, we can't sign someone with a question mark over their head.
-
BUT IF Pep leaves City, MAYBE we should sign him instead
-
1. The difference is Pep, Guardiola and even De Zerbi brought in a new style of play and it was evident what they wanted to do, even if they were conceding loads (kind of reminds me how we should've stuck with Sarri after the 6-0 with city as at least he had a style of play he wanted to implement). Potter has shown no style of play, no niche in which he excels (e.g. Klopp and Tuchels pressing or Peps Tiki Taka) and no in-game tactical nuance a la mourinho. 2. I am still fuming after that Milan game, after being 3-0 up in the reverse fixture and winning 2-0, he should've been smart enough to take James/Chilwell off at 60' before they got injured. Tuchel made the same mistake against Juve the year before!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but I would've rated Potter more if he had dodged this landmine. 3. Cucu is his player (and a sensible backup) although I won't argue the FB situation is dire when both James and Chiwell are out. I will finish off by saying that even with 'his' players, I don't think Potter will achieve anything by the end of the season. That is why I'm #PotterOut.

Midfield will look even better with Enzo and Felix because he can lay it off to someone who knows what he's doing. Whoever SITS (if potter is competent he will do this) with Enzo will be important. I think it will be more interesting with the midfield battle, especially as Rice will want to prove his worth. I think it'll be a close one, I think Badman will concede his first goal. Maybe 2-1 to them or us IMO.

I think Osimhen would be the perfect answer. Havertz (although i really think he is a generational talents) and Gallagher would cover his fee and Broja would sweeten the deal. I am wary of signing Serie As top scorer as I would much rather we already had a Balogun who is outscoring Messi, Mbappe, Neymar in Ligue 1. Perhaps if we had the foresight to loan Broja, maybe we would have.

Here is my two cents. Morale was low at the end of tuchels reign for a number of seasons (club sanctions, not enough offensive training, certain players being frozen out like ziyech). This bled into the start of the season combined with the shit buys we got over the summer, ended up with a change of manager. This was especially due to friction between Tuchel and the hierarchy. Potter was hired because he was the 'best' option at the time. The stars aligned perfectly with Brighton challenging for Europa spots and no other class manager being availible. He was perfect to spout this vision crap and go along with the hierarchys wishes (a yes man). 6 months later, nothing has changed. We are still playing the same dull football with 1 Cross and Silva bailing us out every game. Morale is still low, hence the need for a mental coach. WE ARE 9TH IN THE LEAGUE WITH 2 WINS IN 11. It isn't even about instant impact anymore, it is about whether potter will leave any impact on the squad at all.
-
I think he means in terms of adaptability, at least he changed things since he started. He started with a back 3 and switched to a 4 after signing Jesus and Zinny. Partey helped this transition too. I would forgive Potter if he didn't insist on Mount and Gallagher as 8s no matter our team.

Can't wait for a 20 year sponsorship deal with clearlake.
-
He will thrive there like Fikayo and Tammy. I would throw in KK for free just for good measure.
-
I think pep leaves City at the end of the season. Whether he would be open to moving to London remains to be seen. If there is even an inkling of interest, we should move for him. I would much rather a rebuild under pep than GP. There is no reason to keep a manager with 2 wins in 11 games. By summer, GP will have had almost a year and if we don't get a good run of results and some type of European football by then, he is gone.
-
We already have Enzo, he would be good for depth though. I think arsenal will get him.
-
This may be a problem as we don't have CL and Osimhens contract ends summer 2025. This is the last summer they can make some serious cash for him and he won't go for less than 100m+. United might have new owners who are willing to spend. ADL is going to be a bitch to negotiate with. He might still hate us for poaching Sarri and Jorginho. I don't know how we stand with them since we signed a good player from them, but a shit player for us for 35m.

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/tottenham-hotspur-will-not-sell-harry-kane-to-english-rival-this-summer-7lgm2bwtr?1 [The Times] Tottenham Hotspur will not sell Harry Kane to English rival this summer | Manchester United, who have been linked with the England captain, have bad memories of dealing with the north London club from when they signed Dimitar Berbatov and have made Napoli’s Victor Osimhen a target. - Harry Kane will need to continue his quest to become the Premier League’s record goalscorer at Tottenham Hotspur as the club will not sell him to a rival this summer. - Kane has hinted he is open to reviving contract talks in the coming months; negotiations have not taken place since his failed attempt to join Manchester City - Tottenham have never wanted to sell him to a rival. Manchester United, who have been linked with the England captain, have bad memories of dealing with the north London club from when they signed Dimitar Berbatov and have made Napoli’s Victor Osimhen a target. - Should Tottenham be willing to sell Kane abroad, where there may be interest from Bayern Munich as well as Real Madrid if Mauricio Pochettino takes charge, such a move would have an impact on his stated aim of breaking Shearer’s record.

Everyone except Potter. Even Ziyech should get a chance the poor bastard. Potter will not change though, he will remain the epitomy of a wetwipe and should be gone by summer.
-
I think it's 20m over 5 years. It just means 1 less signing in the summer.
