Do Inter have the dollars? Thought their owner had cut most of their funding?
-
The way I am looking at things, the options seem to be: 1) Take the Saudi money, compete at the top end of the market, but continue to have the media against the club and run the risk of sanctions in future. 2) Take on the Bohely group and hopefully be run like the Dippers. 3) Take on Woody/Ricketts and be run like Utd. 4) Take on a fan led offer and go into the unknown.

I see him going to Barca.

I thought the FA had introduced some rule banning this like they do with the league. EDIT Best source I could find without having to do much digging: https://investenrich.com/2022/03/20/can-crystal-palace-on-loan-ace-conor-gallagher-play-against-Chelsea-in-fa-cup-semifinal/ Looks like he cannot even if the club gives permission.

I think the new owners will make Rudi No.1, especially if they're American. Can see them failing to see of the logic of giving him an extra £15-£25m in contract guarantees to then blow £50m+ on a replacement who will want just as much in wages. Issue will be time. That being said, transfer speculation is all guess work atm, as too much is up in the air. I mean, if we get the Saudis we could be looking exclusively at WC players, whereas if we get Woody expect a sale of a couple of decent players and a reliance on youth players to replace them. If no sale goes through (I think it will) then batten down the hatches. Let's see how the next few weeks play out.

Raphinha is the only winger I want. F*ck getting another player that looks great aboard then finds the PL too much. Only exceptions are player that are truly elite like Mbappe or absolute work horses like Chiesa (before the injury.)
-
Vinicius isn't all that, he is one of those players that looks better than he is because he is playing in the best team in his league which has a big descripency in it. Personally, I'd take an inform/fit Puli over him and in a game like this one, Ziyech (as he'll get space.) Only players I would take from Madrid are Alaba and Benzema. That said, I really hope they sort out the situation with tickets. Chelsea V Real is my major dream tie and we all got f*cked last season after not playing them since '98 and now we have this Roman situation. I feel cursed, especially as I also have enough points this season to do the away also.

Don't mess about with this one with strange picks. No need to put pressure on ourselves by conceding early. Mendy AC Silva Rudi Dave Kova Kante Alonso Puli Kai Mount

Sounds great from a financial perspective but cannot see this being allowed. The fall out of having another Saudi group in the PL would be a political disaster for the Tories.

Like an extra point. Win our games in hand over Utd and we're essentially 13 points clear with 8 games left. Should really push on in the next three games, win those and CL should be all but assured. After that it will be about maintaining focus and not doing anything too stupid. Have they actually stopped paying? They (Three) said they suspended the sponsorship, not that they were pulling out. Felt to me it was more, we'll be back when Roman is gone. Nate is a great option for CB4/5 at the moment, will need to up his game to become a first choice CB. That said, he has been solid this year apart from the last few games, which can be expected. One thing, that is great about him however, is that he clearly loves the club/wants to be here, so I am happy to give him time to try and iron out some of his deficiencies; yes, he is 23 but that is still fairly young for a CB.
-
Yeah, if he followed the ball rather than complained he may have got a tap in.
-
They're absolutely flying. Unbeaten in 9 now.
-
Well, I meant he will head up a consortium. No way will we be allowed a Saudi type owner anyway.
-
Do you really think that Roman wouldn't have pumped in some cash to get us through this? Only issue is if sponsors run for the hills, but I doubt that as the club can still be sold (despite what some in the media are reporting) with bidding closing this week. My thoughts are that Nick Candy must be at the front of the queue. Massive Tory donor and property developer, who would get fast tracked faster that Usain Bolt.

Yeah, because some owner is going to buy Chelsea for £2bn plus and then run us into the ground. Would maybe make sense if they got the freehold to SB, but they won't. What may happen is we will run on a sustainable model like the Dippers. However, that doesn't mean that we'll be selling off the best players, unless you count people like Kepa and Lukaku those. One thing that will happen though is that the club will likely stop the buy to loan policy. I see a mass shedding of players like Baka, Kennedy, Drinky, Barkley, Batsh*t, which I do not think is a bad thing. I mean how Bats keeps getting contract extensions is beyond me.
-
Well, I am kind of past the stage where Vito Corleone is in the Godfather after Sonny has been killed. I accepted people thought players like Baka, Kepa and Cuadrado were good fits (players that were easy to evaluate) or that it was right KdB was sold, even though I disagreed strongly at the time (althoughthis was mainly on CFCNET.) However, the Lukaku one went too far. There was no excuse for anyone who watches any football outside of Chelsea to have thought he was a good idea as he had been around for ages, already proved he wasn't good enough for top a top PL side (or even elite International football) and his performances in Italy weren't great. I think me and you have been on the same page about a lot of things; Mount/Lukaku/3atb etc, however I draw the line in this saga, especially as numberous people not only said he was a good signing but also that they had been watching him and been impressed with his 'improvements'. Additionally, people where also amazed when I said that Tammy and Giroud were preferable to him. Unforgivable. Well that is the problem. For those of us that watched him, we said his 300 goals where a bit of a fallacy and he wouldn't fit here and he was a limited player. People however went crazy and said that wasn't true and they had watched him and I and others' didn't know what they were talking about. Obviously the club actually sanctioning it worse, but we can't debate them. What we can do however is have a note on people who keep on writing nonsense on here about players they clearly haven't watched (and are relying on stats, but said they have), don't know what we need or have no idea of how to evaluate a player. By not taking their views on transfers seriously. It could kind of be like Twitter where people get Tiers for reliability.
-
Don't forget about Kepa.
-
Shocking news, who could've seen that coming.
-
You just need to look at common demoniators. Here it is that Serie A is a good league for strikers. There is a argument about our recruitment of attacking players but this isn't one. Lukaku was clearly a poor/limited player who would never work here. I and a number of people predicted this before he came. I also said I'd rather Giroud/Tammy to him. All fell on deaf ears. As for Tammy/Giroud. I wouldn't say they were failure's here. What we needed was an upgrade but instead we downgraded because someone/people at the club don't know how to evaluate players properly.
-
Can we have some little hit list of people who were delighted about Lukaku signing and thought he was a new player after going to Italy with a secondary one of people in support? Would be handy as it would let everyone know in future about posters who know absolutely nothing about; A) squad building B ) our squad dynamics and what profile of player we need. C) how to evaluate a player.
-
So, what I said in August.
-
Yeah, not getting 4th will require a spectacular failure considering our run and everybody else's. In fact I would say we have the easiest run in left of all the teams in the top 6.
-
We will be sold. If the Yanks had anything on Roman (or could touch him) they would've nailed him first.
-
Boehly is the owner of the Lakers and Dodgers isn't he? That bloke is an absolute Glamour whore. If he is the major owner, he would try and get Mbappe or something, but probably at the cost of the rest of the squad.
