The whole situation is pretty cofunsing to me. Its hard to believe the board is quiet about the whole situation. To be honest, in any other big club in the world Mourinho would be axed at this point, despite his CV. You can look around in football history, and even succesful managers were fired after some pretty bad results, but to be honest in recent years I can't even remember a big european team with such performance. I wili say it again, the board is looking a bunch of amateur of don't know what they are doing. It seems they don't want to look foolish to fire Mourinho 4 montsh after giving him a pointless contract extention, so they want to show everyone they did the right thing. We all know some of big people making decisions are Roman's friends who are not football people, like Gravoskaya woman, who, according to reports, was the one who brought Mourinho back and the one who gave him a contract extention when he still had 2 more years left in his contract. I remember that I was shocked when I heard the news back in august. I mean, Mourinho signed a 4 years contract back in 2013, why after 2 years you would just give him two more years? Whats the point of the first contract? Mourinho is not a player, his character is not for every club taste, clubs just don't buy managers from other clubs, so its really hard to understad the point of the contract extention, since its really to imagine he would leave before the end of the first contract, specially if he had the full support of the board and if he really loves Chelsea. Now we have a another situation. Day after day is pretty clear Mourinho is a dead man walking. Mourinho will get the axe at some point, and its a question of "when", instead of "if". So, the board the making the whole thing difficult for them day after day, because when the gets the axe, it will be too late to save the season (actually its already too late), then the big question will be asked: "why wait so long to make the right thing?". I remember whe City sacked Mark Hughes and the whole british press pictured them as the bad guys, I remember during a press conference when someone from City board was asked about the situation, he replied that they would do everything they could to make the new City project succesful. They hired Mancini and they won PL after decades. A decent board is not one that make deacisions to praise the fans in the easiest ways, or to look nice to press. A decent board is one that is not afraid to make tough decisions. A decent board is one that understand there is a big difference between stability and keeping the same manager as long as possible. A decent board is one that understand a club success can't rely in one single man. I said earlier I feel confused because its really hard to believe the board still believe Mourinho will turn things around, because at this point he just can't turn things around, unless they accept the top 10 is an acceptable goal as some Mourinho fans are suggesting in this topic. Perhaps they are just waiting the end of the season because they already know who's next boss is. But considering Avran Grant was give a 3 years contract (no, he was never an interim manager, he was given the full job with a long contract) and was fired after reaching UCL final, probably it means the Board actually doesn't know what they are doing and are paralysed by this awful season.

Hummm, if I remeber Lampard and Drogba have been accused in the past of being just trying to get the manager sacked. Love is important but won't make you win matches, Terry has been an awful CB this season. What Mourinho wanted with that quote was just try to change the focus from his terrible job this season to "lack of passion and commitment from players"

It was pretty pathetic because he was basically saying he loves Chelsea, and the current form is related with players doesn't feelling the same way....

The man just said he was BETRAYED by his players. That was pretty rash.

He said he wants to stay because he is not afraid of big challenges.

Now he is saying the team must look at Sunderland and Watford in a "humble way".

Now he is saying the players are not afraid of relegation, but lack motivation to be Champions or Top 4.

Now he is basically saying last season he made an amazing team and brought the players to a level they are not. lol

Azpilicuera is a clown, he was at fault in both goals, specially for looking like an amateur in the 2nd goal, no to mention the team almost lost 1 minute in extra time while he was drying the ball as the team was losing.

Actually Mourinho will keep his job, next game is against 19th placed Sunderland, Chelsea will probably win with unconvincing football, the stadium will chant "Jose Mourinho", probably right after a goal or when the match is decided, and some people will see the result as a turning point of the season and will come up sayng the football has improved, untill the next bad result that will soon appear.

You are brave to read Essien18 books. Anyway, you just wrote another myth. EPL is not getting that harder, actually the top dogs are getting weaker. Just compare Chelsea and United squad from last decade. In terms of quality of both teams, for me 08 Final was the best UCL since Milan vs Juventus derby in 2003. The fact this Chelsea squad easily won the league last season speaks loud about the current state of things. Years ago, while Barcelona and Bayern were getting easy rides in their domestic league, Liverpool who was struggling to in 3rd or 4th place of PL were clearly stronger than them.PL poor record in recent seasons is not related with PL getting harder as if the league had so much more quality at this point. Its more related with top dogs unable to emulate the former glory due to bad market decisions and lack of tactical inovations.

I'm the only one who think this draw is pretty suspicious?

I was just checking the PL table and realized we have 4 wins and 8 losses. Thats really shocking.

Most of names here are bad ones. The team should bring PL cheap players, like Pelle.

I really believe the this team can win the UCL. Mourinho is really bad when his team need to attack and create things, but he is the best around when parking the bus is what it takes. Thats the difference between an away game against Spurs and a home game against Bournemouth. You can't face Bournemouth at SB and just park the bus, but that might work if you are playing against Barcelona or Bayern. Hazard still had the quality and William is full of confidence (last season he would try to pass to Costa, instead of shooting and scoring the second goal against Porto). With some luck in draw, and with the right players in winter market, everything can happen. For now, I think the team should bring players that can still play UCL.

Is the football solid? According to stats, it seems the team is parking the bus.

Some fans make Chelsea look like a small club. Real Madrid put Mourinho in his place and fired him after an awful season. There is no doubt who is the big character between Real and Jose. To other side, it seems Chelsea is not allowed to fire Mourinho, because the portuguese is bigger than the club.

I can't stand the fact people are paying attention to what SAF said. His opinion is based in abstract ideas. I'm sure he is not watching Chelsea games, he just want Mourinho to stay based on portuguese's CV. He was also the man who appointed Moyes as his own successor, thats enough reason to not listen.

Mourinho still in charge at this point, while Ancelotti, RDM and even AVB were fired when the club was in better situation, speaks loud about a board that just doesn't know what they are doing. The board is refusing to take responsabilities. Its suppa covenient to have Mourinho in charge, he is such a big football character, the press keep saying he is the best ever and that keeping his job is the right thing to do, Jose still is popular with the fans (who usually don't have a clue about what running a football club is about), so Mourinho is the perfect scapegoat, he is the perfect manager for a weak board. His presence create the false appearence that they are doing things right,. The board just don't have the balls to make bold decisions, like firing Mourinho, or giving support to an unproven manager. There is nothing special in showing Mourinho full support, actually thats the easiest thing to do. When the team is getting Barcelona rejects and selling Mata, KDB, Lukaku, Luiz anc company, Mourinho is behind the whole thing, so who can blame the board? You know, he is Jose Mourinho, so he must know what he is doing, and no one will say a bad word about a club who just let the amazing Mourinho do his job. If the team face a terrible season, fail to even reach the top 4, don't get UCL football or even Europa League football, again no one will say a bad word about the board. Who can blame a club to giving full support to Jose Mourinho? Probably the best manager ever, best manager in club history, football genius, Special One.

Its really funny to think the board is trying to look serious and mature giving Mourinho full support, but day after day they are looking even more clownish, with the team closer and closer to the precipice and still giving the Special One full support to turn things around.
