  1. Ian McGarry is just talking bullshit to make Chelsea look like the bad guys who doesnt respect managers. I dont believe it.
  2. he wans't sacked because he didn't won anything, but because he is not the long term manager we need.
  3. mate, after all these topics and months of discussion about Carlo you still come with "lesser coach than Ancelotti" argument ?
  4. This is was actually a good post. I don't think that right now Chelsea is in crisis or we are in some kind of "instability".
  5. No. Since the first moment when I read he was our next manager I wasnt happy. I used to watch italian football and despite his CL glory I never saw him as a great coach, or the right manager for our current moment, when we need a manager who know how to introduce new players and to work in a transition period. He won the double, he deserve respect for that, but he is not the right man.
  6. This is not personal, I'm discussing Ancelotti.
  7. everybody knew, but some people were reluctant do accept the facts.
  8. Hiring Ancelotti was the biggest mistake.
  9. I don't see him coming right now. He wont take that risk.
  10. This guy it the wisest one in this forum, his Jimi Hendrix avatar just reinforces it!!!
  11. All the clubs in the world are looking for stability, but sometimes you get a manager and discover he is not the right man for a "long term" job. It was the problem with Carlo, he wasn't the right man for Chelsea's long-term success. A manager who play Paulo Ferreira as a CB instead a player from the academy in a game against a relegation club is not the right one for a "long term success".
  12. Indeed. I respect Carlo and what he have achieved for us. But his peform in this season wasnt respectful with the club. Chelsea is not supposed to help people, and be gentle with Carlo and say "ok, I'll give you another season because you deserve respect, and because we are supposed to act like a "class club"" The official statement was a class one. It recognizes what he did for Chelsea, but it also recognizes that his no long compatible with "long-term football objectives and ambitions". I accept people saying it was the wrong move because it won be good for Chelseas ambitions and objectives, but I can't stand people saying it was wrong because a "class club" is not supposed to sack a manager, or that Carlo was a great man and because of it he deserved one more season. Scolari is also a great man, won a WC, he deserved respect, and he was sacked after 7 months.
  13. I rather be like Madrid than like Everton. Stability is not the main goal in football, the main goal in football is win, trophy and glory. Yes, I'm a glory hunter, and all great players and managers in the world are glory hunters.
  14. If after sacking Carlo we are a step closer of becoming like Real Madrid, then I'm happy. No matter what you say, they still are the greatest club in the world.
  15. whats the relation between Benitez and Villas Boas :
  16. He probably was already sacked, and I'm sure he knew it, but as I said in other topic, he wasn't allowed to say so in public.
  17. "Chelsea's long-term football objectives and ambitions remain unchanged and we will now be concentrating all our efforts on identifying a new manager." Most important thing.
  18. Carlo is a great guy. I never expected he would win the double in his first season. He deserve respect. But its time to move on, and sadly he is not the kind of manager we need right now. Farewell Carlo. "Carlo will always be welcome at Stamford Bridge, where he will be given the reception and respect his position in our history deserves."
  19. http://www.chelseafc...2364758,00.html CHELSEA STATEMENT Posted on: Sun 22 May 2011Chelsea Football Club can confirm that Carlo Ancelotti parted company with the club today (Sunday, 22 May). The owner and board would like to thank Carlo for his contribution and achievements since taking over as manager in July 2009, which included winning the Double for the first time in the club's history. However, this season's performances have fallen short of expectations and the club feels the time is right to make this change ahead of next season's preparations. Carlo will always be welcome at Stamford Bridge, where he will be given the reception and respect his position in our history deserves. Chelsea's long-term football objectives and ambitions remain unchanged and we will now be concentrating all our efforts on identifying a new manager. There will be no further comment until that appointment is made.
  20. Back on the subject of the topic: Whats gonna happen if Turkey go to next Euro ? Imagine if Roman wait for Hiddink, and then he just is not able to leave Turkey until 2012...O hope that Roman already have some plan B in his mind.
  21. there was a mistake in your post. I couldn't let it pass.
  22. Indeed. His hair cut might be cool, but as a defender he has his a weakness, as liosden said. Lack os positional awareness, discipline and the ability to read the game. Luiz is a very versatility player, if we find a visionary manager who can exploit his talents he can even play in different positions. I think he would be a amazing right back or defensive midfielder. Hiddink would be perfect for that. Just remember that him was the one who discovered Ivanovic as right back. If not him, Carlo would have used Ferreira and Bosingwa as our main right backs in last two seasons.
