  1. So, thats it guys. I hope you enjoyed my replies. I'm looking forward to reading from our next guests. This is my instagram: http://instagram.com/henriquevalverde
  2. You failed to understand my post. Thats why you though it was disjointed. Cahill has been excellent this season, so this is the reason why Luiz is not playing as a CB, because at this moment there is someone better than him, but somehow people are saying he is useless because Cahill is better at this moment. Luiz still is a good defender, and he is sitting on the bench in most games because Cahill is better at this moment, but people still make a big deal of it. For me its a good thing to have a player like Luiz sitting on the bench. One team is not made for one single season. I still have misgivings about Cahill form in big games: he was far from good in the 1st leg against PSG, and poor in 2nd league against Atlético, and I still have misgivings about his performance in a more audacious tactics (he was the CB when the team conceded 6 goals for Stoke+Sunderland in two games). Terry already is 33, at his age you never how he will be playing next season (thats why the club adopted the one year deal thing with players in their 30s) , just take Lampard as an example. He was really decent last season, this season he was useless, and he will be here next season because of his "legend" status. Terry+Cahill was a excellent partnership this season, no one can deny that, but thats not a long term solution. Luiz still can be useful in that process, he is the younger of our CBs at the end of the day. So, thats was an irony, for you.
  3. I really want you to explain why the post was disjointed. Not the kind of reply I expect from a moderator.
  4. You just need to read this topic to understand why Cahill is not a great CB. He is the first choice because Luiz makes a lot of mistakes, not because he is great. For me its really weird, while people keep praising Cahill because he won the starting XI role, they keep saying Luiz is useless and brainless defender. So, whats the big deal about Cahill being the first choice at this moment, if the other option is a CB that can't even defend? Cahill still is the same defender he was 2 years ago, and Terry is far from being as good as 10 years ago, but both players are more suited to Mourinho's tactics, its obvious. Lets make things clear here: Luiz is twice the player that Cahill is. There is a reason why the rumors are suggesting Barcelona is willing to pay 30m for a brainless and stupid player, while solid rock Cahill market value is probably under 20m, and while teams like PSG are interested in Luiz, probably only some Chelsea's fans and englishmen believe Cahill is a Top 3 Cb in the world. This season, even Juan Mata looked like a shit player in the moments he was on the pitch.
  5. Indeed. Torres came from Atléticos academy, and Aguero was one of the most exciting young players in South America when he was signed. Nothing special about that, the problem is we made an unlucky move in Shevchenko, and a stupid one in Torres. Today Its easy to say he is the worst signing of all time, but even in 2011 few people believed he was worth that amount of money. I have to admit I was really surprised when I read here people saying he was worth even more. Since Torres, the board is taking easy when the subject is buying expensive strikers. This is the reason why we didn't bought Falcao from Porto 3 years ago, and went to Atletico, instead.
  6. It would be interesting to read "liosden" and "only place to be" negativism in his topic next season, but now he plays for Spain, so we might see a different approach, after all.
  7. I wonder why we dont have Falcao or Huk in our squad at this point.
  8. San Francisco is much more than Golden Gate. Awesome city: Haight-Ashburry, Chinatown, Japanese gardens at the Golden Gate Park, Fisherman Wharf, and you can't miss others cities from the bay, like Sausalito. I have never visited Europe. Brazil is a huge country, so most brazilians spend their vacation time visiting their own country, and we travel abroad, USA is the most common destination. Its cheaper than Europe, and for many reasons USA seems more attractive for brazilians than Europe, but I'm saving money to visit Europe soon. While in USA you can easily enjoy one single city in 12 days, its a sin to visit Europe and know one single country. I have a LOT of friends who visit the Old Continent, and really love it. I'm planing to spend 30 days traveling across the continent, but if I had to choose one country to visit, it would be UK. About the differences, I have a serbian friend. He is different in so many ways, it seems he is from another galaxy. I dont feel the same when I meet an american, for an example, or spanish or potuguese. It seems the differences are bigger when we compare ourselves with people from East Europe.
  9. I think some people here are starting to take themselves too serious.
  10. Its funny he liked your post. He isnt a normal adult at all.
  11. I understand if he chooses to leave. His career might be completely destroyed if he stays under Mourinho for another season.
  12. I hope he is playing a lot in recent games to rest our attacking players. Not even close of being good enough for a starting role.
  13. Hello James (nice to name). I think you just said the obvious. The system is not enough to determine if a team is offensive or defensive, but you missed the most important fact: Chelsea's squad. Playing 4-2-3-1 with the current squad is indeed a conservative approach, specially when we were facing teams like Crystal palace with Matic+Luiz in the pivot. Mourinho tried a more adventurous approach in the first leg of the season with Lampard+Ramires, but this partnership had poor presence in the mid, and could not cover the defenders properly. I don't even need to reply the "Guess you weren't complaining when we beat the smaller sides with this 4-2-3-1, were you? ". But the answer is "yes". I think many will agree that even when the team was beating the "smaller sides", the team was far from convincing, creating few chances and relying on the individual brilliance of our attacking men. With the squad we have, 4-2-3-1 is not the answer for a game where you need to take the initiative.
  14. He just want to increase his price tag, or he is saying Torres is not for sale. I believe Torres wants to leave. The club want opposite such move.
  15. Its not their fault. Think about Hazard. He was a good player in Lille, playing in french league. When he was signed, you just need to read the reactions here. He suddenly became a fan-favourite, we became the best squad in the league, and that kind of stuff. Neymar is another bizarre case, NEVER in a WC, a player got so much attention like brazilian press will give to Neymar this year, its almost ridiculous. The press play a big part in the whole thing. Days ago Matic was voted the 6th best signing of the season, even if we were in 2nd when he was bought and will finish in 3rd.
  16. WC spending is outrageous. One stats: brazilian average attendance is around 12.000. We are behind: Russia, Switzerland, Scotland, Japan, China, German 2nd division, Major League Soccer, English Championship, and the majority of the games are played in big football center like São Paulo, Rio, Belo Horizonte and Porto Alegre, but they are building HUGE stadiums in cities like Manaus, Natal and Cuiaba. In my city, Brasilia, we have the most expensive of the WC, and it can be the most expensive ever. Its a 70.000 people stadium, but we don't have a strong local league, the average attendance of the local competition is less than 1000 people. Thats right, less than 1.000 people, but they are using public money, my money to build that stadium. I think thats enough to unswear Rpmr question: I'm far from happy with the WC. Abou the other subjects, its complicated. Every country around the world are hypercomplex societies. You need to understand the whole system to understand the corruption and police incursions in favelas, but i'm afraid most brazilians dont understand those things. Its easy to blame the politics for all the bad things happening, but Brazilians are essentially corrupted people. To be a better country we need to realize that we are part of the problem, as long as we keep blaming everyone else for our own flaws, we will stay in trouble.
  17. Actually I play electric ones: Les Paul, Telecaster and SG. This is my favorite one: 1- Not sure if I'm the best to ask this question, I've been a fan for a decade, too early for that, I'm afraid. 2- I only have 3. I don't think its cool to wear football shirts when you are not practicing sports and that kind of stuff, its weird to wear a football shirt if you are going to a party or hanging out, but I want the 2012 UCL shirt. I don't like candy. Too much sugar. Its all up to Mourinho's performance next season. I would less anxious. Criminal law. Thats a very sensitive subject. The police is doing this kind of thing because of one big event, I'm afraid they are not concerned about whats the best for people who are living in those cities.
  18. I don't like you overusing giff and sutff, but I don't hate or dislike you for that, but to say the truth I associate you with people who are here because of some players. San Francisco is an amazing city in so many aspects. Its a ultra-liberal city, the last time they had a Republican mayor was around 50 years ago. Until the fall of XIX century, it was a very small city, until they discovered gold there, but most part of the people that went to city in that period were from overseas: Asia, Europe, Latin-america, nowadays you see a lot of asian people there, and people from around the world. Its a beautiful city as well, with an european vibe, if I can put this way. It was the epicenter of the counter-culture movement in the lat 60s, the home of bands like Grateful Dead, Santana, Big Brother, Moby Grape, Jefferson Airplane, Quicksilver and others. But if you are thinking about living there, you should know two things: California is a very expensive state, and San Francisco is a VERY expensive city even for californian standards. 1- I live psychedelic rock, thats my favorite music, and my second favorite music is blues, specially british blues. 2- Pigs.
  19. I think Brazil can win it again, but I don't think the team is favorite. I go for Germany or Agentina. I got this Avatar after Roman "terminated" RDM. Roman is the real special one. I never did DMT, I have to admit I don't know what it means, but my psychedelic kind of thing is music and art. You don't need to do drugs to get psychedelic. Reality is as psychedelic as possible.
  20. It doesn't matter, but this is what happened with Mourinho this season. Lampard barely played as a box-to-box. He became a DM this season. His attacking impact was close to none this season, just compare his goals with past season. Ramires played as a 2nd DM the whole season, you just need to compare his goals/assists stats with the previous two. This season his was spending less time supporting the team in the attack, and making more stupid things in the mid. Against Palace, as an example, we played with Matic+Luiz. I'm not talking about you, but there are lot of people who support Mourinho 100% of the time.
  21. I don't think anyone here is asking for Mourinho's head. Thats the difference between Mourinho and a manager without his CV. After a bad season, you still believe Mourinho will turn things right and make Chelsea as strong as any team around the globe. To other side some people start to have misgivings about Mourinho. Football is really dynamic. 10 years ago Wenger was still great, at this moment he is still managing Arsenal because they lack ambition. Its clear for everyone that Arsenal could do better with a younger manager with fresh ideas. Sometimes changing is necessary for both clubs and managers. A lot of great managers from the past needed to spend years on the ostracism to get back at the highest level: Louis Van Gaal, Del Bosque, Jupp Heynckes, to name a few. Just like everyone, I thought we would win the PL this season because of Mourinho's impact, but I have to admit that I was really surprised that at some points it looked like Mourinho didn't know what he was doing, and I'm sure that his line-up against Atlético raised some eyebrows. The difference between a genius and a mad man is the success, the first Atlético goal came after a cross from the side where the team had two full backs, and the team lost 3-1 at home. Its not only about the result, it was the way the team was defeated. It had a lot to do with tactical choices, it wasn't because Atlético had a better squad, as some people are claiming, and even if thats the case, so why are the managers for, if at the end of the days is the quality of the squad that really matters? I don't believe in Mourinho when he is saying he took the hard option. After he left Madrid he said he wanted to be in a place he was loved. At Chelsea and in England, people think he is some kind of tactical god, he has the majority of the fans and of the press in his pocket. In PSG he would win some national leagues, but would add only stats in his CV, because there is a abysm between PSG and the rest of the league, they are supposed to win the league with any manager in the world, but everyone know what PSG really wants. Winning the UCL with a french team is a really HUGE task. If he really wanted some hard challenge, why he is not in Italy again? If any manager in the world win a UCL with a italian club in the next 3 years, this man would be a real genius. Being at Chelsea again is far from a hard job. Chelsea is easily the best option for him at this moment, at least was one year ago. It was the natural choice for him. So, the big question for next season is: can Mourinho improve this team? Will the team have more success next season? Some people believe the only answer is yes. We all hope "yes" is the answer, but after what I saw this season, and can expect anything to happen, from the team winning 4 trophies, to Mourinho leaving the club after another trophyless season.
  22. Mourinho biggest mistake this season was never giving up the 4-2-3-1 system. Its a really effective system if you are facing teams like Liverpool or City, but he was using the same system against teams like Crystal Palace. I mean, whats the point of fielding two DM against Palace? Anyone expected a different game with such conservative line-up against a ultra-defensive game? but some people here were saying Mourinho got the tactics right because it was the same line-up he used against Arsenal. I don't even have to discuss this subject, because if you think you should use the same tactics facing completely different animals like Arsenal and Palace, then the whole discussion is over. I really liked Tx "rhetoric", because it reveals whats is going on here: some members see Mourinho as a special manager because of the period between 2004 and 2007, thats why they are way too lenient sometimes.
  23. He said yesterday he wishes the WC would start tomorrow: thats right, even before of the end of the season. Not sure if he is the kind of player that have the ambition to play in a giant club.
