The closest thing we've had to that here at CFC is Anelka and Drogba (that worked), and that's only because Nico played as a wide forward. On Anelka btw, I think he's a player that was born in the wrong generation, about a decade too early. He'd be very valued as a player right now. One of my favourite Chelsea players ever.

Statistically Moses is just as good/better defensively. Some have said that Zappa isn't a strong defender either. Sure, he might have a better mindset in the final third but he doesn't have 1v1 dribbling ability to open up much space in the final third. I actually don't think he's better than Moses or ever will be in anything bar crossing and maybe smarts in the final third (which is easy to be better at let's be honest). Still remains to be seen how well he adapts though. I'm not that impressed as it stands. Never really stood out to me for Torino either. I think we'll be looking to upgrade RWB yet again in the near future.

Honestly so refreshing to have someone who's composed on the ball at LCB. Leicester's press wasn't anywhere near as effective because all of our defenders were competent in possession/under pressure.

Bakayoko is comfortably better technically than Essien imo, prime Essien was a competent technician, all rounder at best. Bakayoko has better close control and general technique than Essien. Also has a bit more flair to his game.

My main worry with Morata was will he provide goals when he isn't playing that well? The answer is a resounding yes so far. Still needs to get used to the pace of the league... so I think he'll be much better next season. He came at the right age. The PL might be the proper making of him.
