Luiz rarely under performed with us last season, and you can't say that it's the norm for Luiz to perform badly when he was our best defender plenty of times last season. You shouldn't let one bad performance for Brazil (even though he had a great performance just the game before) cloud your judgement like that. "If Luiz carries on" - if he does carry on his form for us last season he'll consolidate himself as one of the best defenders in the world (which he already is in my opinion).

Perfect signing for them. Really needed a good striker and Bony fits the bill.

That isn't fair. Torres was a decent performer in the league for Liverpool even though he went downhill - his stats for Liverpool are insane but he was still a flop. You just can't write off someone who's been top scorer in Italy for two consecutive seasons like that.
