How did you gather that? Don't be ridiculous. No one on the forum thinks we're going to walk the title - in fact most are predicting a top three finish. Just because people are being reasonable about the loss doesn't mean they think we're going to win the rest of our games.
-
I wonder if you'd be saying the same if we signed a Cavani or Falcao and they performed like Eto'o did. You're being so short sighted its unbelievable. If you're going to use Torres and Ba as arguments (both who've played far more games than Eto'o, he's just played one game ffs) then I think it's best we just leave it there.
-
You think a lethal finisher like Eto'o can't score because his finishing was off in one game? You've decided to completely write him off after one game, that's atrocious IMO. At least give him a few games. He got into great positions and on another day could've easily grabbed a brace and his link up play was excellent and created clear cut chances (i.e. Schurrle's sitter). You really need to relax.

Eto'o is that man. How many chances did he have yesterday? On another day when he's clinical and sharp enough he bags those. Just give him time to get sharp and you'll see the difference.
-
I see the argument from Phil and bleed_blue has now shifted from "Mourinho doesn't rate him" to "Mikel is a bad omen for the team".
-
We shouldn't buy a striker just for the sake of it, we need to make sure he's the right type of player, plus you can't really say after one game that that's what we need. Way too far fetched. Relax and let the season go by a little longer before you make a concrete opinion.
-
Surprisingly created our best chances yesterday. Had a pretty decent game, and on another day he could've easily grabbed an assist or two.
-
How is Eto'o useless after one game he didn't score in (which apart from that all other aspects of his game were pretty good)? This is ridiculous.
-
Best away atmosphere I've been to is probably Spurs.
-
He does need to step up. It's early days though, so I'm not too concerned.
-
Need Azpi, Mata, Eto'o and Willian to start as they all need to get a bit more match practice in.
-
People starting to doubt Jose already? Brilliant.
-
He didn't overdo it in the first half though. He's been given the freedom to do such as it makes us far more unpredictable, so it isn't that much of a problem.
-
Well, in the context of that action - we were losing and time was running out, and obviously he has been given the freedom to go up and try and win the game for us. It wasn't just out of the blue.

I agree. Everton defended superbly and kept Hazard, Schurrle and Mata at bay for most of the game but all three under performed in my opinion. I think we played way too conservative in the first half - we weren't playing the high press and let Everton settle into the game way too early in the first half. We still churned out chances though but how many of those were actually created by those three? Ironically, Eto'o and Ramires were our most creative players which isn't good enough. Just one of those games though where things didn't go our way. I'm not too disheartened by the loss because the performance wasn't that bad and it's still very early but Mata and Hazard really both need to step up and start taking games by the scruff of the neck on a more regular basis this season.
-
He wasn't bad but really struggled to impose himself.
-
When this guy gets sharp he'll score plenty. Was pretty good today.
-
Schurrle needs to be more consistent with his finishing, and soon. Could've easily won us the game today. He has it in his locker, I've seen it plenty of times before at Leverkusen where he was ruthless with his finishing at times, but it's the consistency.
-
Really bad today. Looks like the England games took its toll on him. Hindsight comment but Bertrand would've definitely been better today simply because he brings more offensively IMO.
-
Had his bad moments but wasn't half as bad as what people made him out to be. People don't understand the type of defender Luiz is, he's the aggressor, he's the one that goes out to win the ball early, so of course he won't be in perfect position all the time. People need to get over it.
-
Mikel - Ramires for me.
-
Lol yeah let's blame Mikel for the goal even though it was Cech's and Ramires' fault. Ridiculous.
-
We played okay today, just things didn't go our way. We created enough to win the game quite comprehensively, but Everon defended admirably. Just wasn't our day unfortunately, the performance wasn't that bad. Mata still worryingly looks off the pace but he needs games. Hazard was pretty invisible today. Luiz and Ramires were very risky today, thankfully they didn't get sent off today though. No one really performed that bad though, we just didn't take our chances. Eto'o had a pretty decent game today I think, his link up play was superb, got himself into great positions and on another day he would've grabbed a goal or two, unfortunately he isn't as sharp but that's understandable as he didn't hasn't had a game for three weeks. Mikel was my MOTM, bossed it absolutely in midfield and made several great interceptions and passes and really imposed himself. Mourinho tactically in the first half we were too conservative I think. Second half was a lot better as we implemented the high press and looked a lot more threatening but as I said before just wasn't our day. Bring on the next game I say.
-
Not our day today. Nothing seems to be going in.

Eto'o's?
