This is much better going forward than the first half. Cole my MOTM so far, he's overlapping really well on that left side. Really should've played more often this season.

Luiz has come on with purpose. Good to see him trying to shift the ball forward. Imagine what a proper DLP would do.

That is true but at the same time, Ash has been wonderful going forward. I feel like him not playing consistently also affects his sharpness defensively.

Wow, when will this die? Even Mourinho said himself that Hazard was misquoted. Hazard said "we don't play with the ball" i.e. we don't play possession football, and then followed that up by saying, "we play more on the counter like Madrid". He was asked a question on Chelsea's playing style and answered it which was mistranslated. He was NOT attacking the manager.

He made one really good pass going forward, they weren't multiple instances. His general play as okay in the first half but in the 2nd half it was poor.

If you've read my opinions on Lukaku you'd find that I'd want him here as a 2nd choice striker as well - he'd be ideal for us in that way because it fits well into his strengths - he causes mayhem when he comes off the bench against tired legs and would also be a good starting replacement for our 1st choice striker (whoever that may be next season). I'm not disagreeing with you on that, nor am I talking about Lukaku's strengths or weaknesses. That's not the debate here. I just think that if you take away his goal he was pretty poor yesterday, but as I said before we'll just agree to disagree.

You can't be serious. A lot of Arsenal fans have wanted Wenger gone for years. A lot wouldn't mind if he actually didn't sign a new contract and left.

I'm not quoting them in regards to our discussion, relax and stop crying. Just trying to spark a debate about his performances in general this season and what a few Everton fans think about his performance in general this season. If you read it you'll see there are some positive stuff in there too.

Well, he tried to take on players but failed 4 times. He barely brought anyone into play (laying it off to players behind you isn't really bringing them into play), was offside unnecessarily a few times too. He was frustrating to watch apart from his goal. I personally expect more from Romelu (in his general game, not his goal scoring ability) and have seen him have better games in that respect so yes, I still maintain that he wasn't. Agree to disagree then.

Some Evertonian opinions on Lukaku's season, pretty interesting:

So because Naismith was horrendous Lukaku was good? Come on man. We aren't discussing Naismith here, I couldn't care less about him. I still maintain Lukaku's goal glossed over a poor/average performance. If you take away his goal will you honestly tell me he had a good game?

Before Jose decided to change us to a more defensive team, all of our centre backs were poor because they were so exposed. Luiz hasn't had a really great game at CB like he did quite a few times last season but he hasn't been given a prolonged stint (and rightfully so as well because Cahill has obviously been very good this season) at the back with a system and players that protect the centre backs well. In my opinion it isn't fair to judge him at CB this season because he never had the protection Cahill or Terry had this season. However that doesn't take away from the good job both have done.

And you need to get over the fact that players can have a few bad games. I mean, before we tactically shored it up to a more defensive game, even Terry and Cahill struggled - they were after all our starting CBs in the Sunderland and Stoke games which we lost. He hasn't benefitted from being in a system that protects it CBs well like Cahill and Terry have.

He scored a good goal, but apart from that he was very ineffective and barely influenced the game, lost the ball 4 times (4 times more than anyone else on the team) in crucial moments and was indecisive and barely threatened City. Sure, he won a few aerial duels against Demichellis, had a few decent passes but he's had far better games than that. If that's the standard you'll hold him up to for having a brilliant game then. A goal glossed over a poor/average performance.

Only as ludicrous as your statement. See, you've got it all wrong. Again, I'll tell you, you don't know anyone personally on here to even say stuff like that. There really is no point arguing with you as you obviously believe that anything Mourinho says and does is 200% the right thing, and that everyone on here does not have any sort of credentials on football or have not watched/played the sport for a long time at all. You might as well not be on the forum then and just listen to Jose's press conferences if you think everyone on here basically has no knowledge about football. Good day sir.

Good finish yesterday but he was awful in general.

They won't get done for it. Sunderland fan on the comments said this: "Ji was registered with Sunderland throughout, there was no doubt about that. It was purely an administrative error relating not to his registration, but to the technicality that he needed his eligibility reconformed after he'd been on loan. And the Premier League didn't even notice - the issue only arose because Sunderland noticed they'd made a mistake and informed the PL accordingly. There's no chance of the decision being overturned." If that's the case then Cardiff, Fulham and Norwich have a very poor case.

Sunderland better stay up this year. You can't get relegated after casually messing up the title race for us and City. Delighted for you lot now it looks like you're staying up!
