  1. So essentially 7 attackers for 3 positions? You think that's going to be sustainable? I don't see the 3 at the back becoming permanent. Tuchel in my opinion is merely building the foundation considering his job is currently dependent on Top 4. We secure that, he can build on for what he wants, which is being a flexible/tactical manager. Say for example our backline going into next season is James/Silva/Konate/Chilwell and protecting them is a solid DM. I don't see any need to continue with a back 3 unless we are looking for absolute control.
  2. So because they are both inside forwards, negates the fact they are both complete opposites in their attacking play? One being direct and the other indirect? Is Giroud then similar to Mbappe because they are both ST's? What kind of logic is that? Both offer something completely different, which is essentially the point. Again, irony. The fact you genuinely think Pulisic and Werner offer the same thing, makes your whole argument collapse before it even began. It has everything to do with Tuchel, because our unbeaten record has come with Werner leading our line. A decision you find incorrect. I reiterate, if you do not see what Werner offers as a whole, that's understandable. To question the decision from the manager, when everything has worked in our favor so far, bears no reason to become this over dramatic. See post above. How are winning penalties for the team, penalties you've solely won by playing off the back line and making direct runs. , not impacting the team?
  3. Really is ironic you criticizing other members for having an apparent lack of IQ when you make remarks like this. Please enlighten me how they are similar when one player plays between the lines and makes direct runs behind the defence, while the other is indirect by checking towards the ball and then takes players on. Of course he's asked to bring the best out of those two. That's sort of a manager's job. To bring out the best in his players. My point is what does that have to do with Pulisic not being selected over Mount, Ziyech, and CHO? Ah yes, the standards of being unbeaten since Tuchel arrived and only conceding 2 goals. Oh how the mighty standards have fallen. I thought @Mana was OTT with his comments, but at least he was complaining when we were actually shit. You on the other hand are nitpicking on a manager's decision to bench a certain player as if performances and results are not going in our favor. Finishing in the Top 4 looked like an impossibility a month ago, we are now favorites to finish 2nd. And yet you complain πŸ˜‚ Werner has started 9 games under Tuchel, contributing to 6 goals total (as I referenced above). 6/9 = 67% or 70% As myself, Jason, and others have alluded to, you aren't seeing the bigger picture at all with Werner, and why the Morata comparisons are well OTT.
  4. The point that Pulisic is last in the pecking order? Hmmm, probably because CHO was playing LW against Everton and came off for Mount. So again, looks like CHO is also preventing Pulisic from playing... Is Tuchel also tasked by the club to bring the best out of Mount, Ziyech and CHO, who have had more game time than Pulisic? Do you believe in being matchfit? If so doesn't Pulisic deserve a full match to show his abilities in the Prem? I believe that. I also believe the season doesn't end tomorrow, and there are plenty of opportunities remaining for Pulisic to make an impact. Why judge him when he get's 10 minutes, after he comes off the bench? I'm not judging him off of 10 minutes, I'm judging him from the entire season, where he's been a shadow of the player he was. it's not like Werner is doing much to deserve to start in this team! 5 and 8 assists goals in 27 games in the Premier League! Werner since Tuchel's been appointed. +Won the penalty against Spurs + Won the penalty against Sheffield + assisted the second. + Scored and Assisted against Newcastle + Scored against Liverpool that should of stood You can clearly see why Tuchel continues to pick him as Werner has impacted nearly 70% of the games he's played under Tuchel.
  5. I'll direct you to @Jason response to you in the Pulisic thread. Werner didn't start against Wolves or United, and neither did Pulisic. Someone with an IQ would understand this isn't a case of Werner preventing Pulisic from the starting XI. Why would Tuchel have some agenda of not playing Pulisic, a player he himself brought up at Dortmund, unless Pulisic isn't showing enough to warrant a starting position?
  6. Maybe if that player had zero potential. The fact Pulisic is America's most prized footballing asset and when you consider his ceiling, pretty sure he is one of the very last the club has in mind to sell off. He'll come good.
  7. Or the 3 at the back needs to go, which I imagine will come next season. Also, according to Buck, a reason Pulisic was purchased was to tap into the American market, as that is where the real money lies. No way will we move him on after only 2 years.
  8. Unhappy according to whom? I'll ask you two questions. One, what warrants him to start over Werner? He fails to make any impact when he is given the opportunity? Havertz seized his opportunity Monday. We got nothing close to that from Pulisic and Ziyech. And two, if a player who is allegedly unhappy for lack of game time, when said player is doing nothing with the opportunities he's given, is this bad apple even worth having in the dressing room? We've been undefeated since Tuchel has been appointed, with Werner leading our attack. The outrage is premature.
  9. No one should write off a player after one season, especially one as absurd as this.
  10. Liverpool will likely offload Matip as he and Gomez are far too injury prone. Reckon they are in the race as well.
  11. 4-4-2 narrow, which Tuchel has played before. (as if we are getting Haaland) DM Mount----Kovacic Havertz Haaland --- Werner
  12. πŸ˜‚ I'd love to see you post with this much confidence when we start playing a back 4 again. The system will be found out. It's the very reason why Tuchel isn't strict on one formation. Come next season once teams have figured out how to suss our formation, Tuchel goes to a back 4 + Silva out injured, will you still optimistic then? We may have won titles with that formation but it wasn't sustainable, as the very next season proved. Cahill was 26 and premier league proven. Guehi and Ampadu are 20 and the latter still doesn't have a full premier league season under his belt. Also, you remember the very next season once DiMatteo tried to play progressive football vs protecting our back line? Shambles.
  13. A championship level CB and a CB playing for a relegated premier league club going to solve our defensive woes? Tuchel, will, not if, will go to a back 4 at some point once our formation is sussed out. As it inevitably will. NO ONE, bar Silva, can play in a back 4.
  14. You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
  15. I admit, Guehi does look impressive. Thing with Konate despite his injuries, is his reading of the game. His tackle rate is incredibly low because of it. He has however avoided any injuries this season due to muscular imbalances, so there's hope there. I want Konate and Guehi a loan move to a prem side.
  16. I don't think there is balance in that attack. All three like the ball at their feet and tonight showed Havertz needs space to have his free role of creator and focal point. Werner and CHO stayed wide and through the channels, Mount will undoubtedly come through the middle. I genuinely don't think one or the other can play together in attack, but its worth a punt.
  17. Skeptical about both Mount and Havertz being in an attacking lineup, but it deserves a go. He's missing chances but shit performance? Think many of you are forgetting how awful Morata was. As poor as Werner has been in the third, we aren't playing with 10 men with him on the pitch. Tuchel's system is incredibly dependent on ball retention, and Werner + Mount are arguably our best players not named Kante in regards to pressing.
  18. There's still a worry in my head Havertz + Mount can't work in an attacking lineup, much less the latter being an influential player in the final third. Tricky. Mount needs to play, but I want to see more of the Werner/CHO/Havertz front three.
  19. Werner, Havertz, and CHO was probably the most fluid front three we've seen so far under Tuchel. Ziyech and Pulisic have done nothing to warrant starting over Werner. I'm still against Mount involved in our attack. Tonight was another display why.
  20. He's pretty much become a key clog in our press right now, which has been the basis of how we've managed to control games under Tuchel. I don't think he's done much wrong other than his decision making in the third. He's also our only direct attacker given CHO, Ziyech, and Pulisic like the ball at their feet. And there again likes the basis of our biggest issue, the latter two not performing. What have Pulisic and ZIyech done to warrant themselves starting over Werner?
  21. This along with Spurs are arguably the games where Mount has to be #1st name on the team sheet. Mendy Azpilicueta---Christensen---Rudiger CHO-------------Jorginho-------Kovacic------------Chilwell Mount Havertz----Werner
  22. Incredibly debatable. And I thought out of all of our attacking combinations, Havertz, Werner and CHO looked the most fluid.
  23. Because he offers a lot more than just scoring now.
