I'm saying if we do find ourselves in situations where we need to protect a lead, it would be better to have the wingers play in traditional roles vs inverted ones to pull off shots quicker when we do catch opposition off the break. The only role I can see of use for Emerson.

I think when setting up mainly to counter, our wingers should be playing on the side of their stronger foot. We catch teams on the break, the wingers can get their shot away faster vs having to cut in before doing so.

The only player I'd say is protected is Neymar given he mastered the flop. Ronaldo spent 6 years in the Prem and cut the diving when he realised he wasn't getting calls. Also, watch virtually any Messi compilation vs a club on YouTube and you can see he gets hacked down occasionally. If I were Werner I'd try and man the fuck up and start taking the penalties. Don't understand how he expects to get out of the slump when he doesn't regularly see his end product hit he back of the net. At the very least try and do it with penalties. His record is fairly good too.

Thought it looked pretty good against Everton. If anything, without Mount we lose a lot of control in midfield given Jorginho and Kante's limitations. That's why if Mount isn't in the team, Kovacic should be.
