Why Chelsea are annoyed after ‘intense negotiations’ with Trevoh Chalobah this week https://www.thechelseachronicle.com/transfer-news/why-Chelsea-are-annoyed-after-intense-negotiations-with-trevoh-chalobah-this-week/ Trevoh Chalobah is running out of time to secure a move away from Chelsea after being frozen out of the first-team picture this summer. For Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, he’s got until the summer transfer window closes this Friday to find himself a new club if he wants to be playing first-team football this season. Many fans feel the 25-year-old centre-back is more than good enough to contribute to Enzo Maresca’s side, but he’s been isolated from the senior squad since the start of pre-season. GiveMeSport recently reported that Chalobah is one of several players Chelsea want gone before the window shuts, but time is quickly running out to finalise summer deals. It’s now been claimed that the club are infuriated after talks with the Englishman this week. Chelsea frustrated after Trevoh Chalobah discussions this week According to journalist Simon Phillips via Substack, Chelsea held ‘intense negotiations’ with Chalobah yesterday (Tuesday). It is explained that the central defender has rejected all approaches from the clubs who have shown interest in him, namely Nottingham Forest, Atalanta, and Crystal Palace. Apparently, this has annoyed Chelsea because they’ve accepted three different offers for Chalobah in the last seven days. They’ve firmly told the player that he won’t play senior football until January if he stays put. Fingers crossed Trevoh Chalobah gets a move he wants Chalobah is well within his rights to sit and wait for a suitable transfer to come along, especially because he’s still under contract until 2028. It’s understandable that Chelsea are frustrated when they’re trying to get the academy graduate out the exit doors, though. It would be a gigantic shame if the centre-half stays put this summer and is resigned to months away from first-team football. When he was fit and firing at the back end of last season, he proved he’s a quality Premier League defender. We’re surprised a big club hasn’t come in for Chalobah yet and sensed a great opportunity to snap up a quality player, so let’s see what happens in the final three days of the window.

from A Neapolitan Nightmare: Tales From The Bad Side: ------------------------------ 'How much for the Nigerian Prince?', whispered Vesper in a curious tone. '€130m!' demanded the Poison Dwarf with a squeal, prancing about and flashing his murky blue eyes. And with that, Vesper took her gold and went home, vowing to never talk to the mean little creature again.

here are 3 players I already listed who are not top 10 tier who seem to meet what you are now saying and who are remotely available Jonathan David João Pedro Santiago Gimenez (probably the closest to what you are now saying) going down, (I do not think many here realise just how many CFs have moved already, it is quite staggering), under my intial cut-off in valuation and who are available we have Brian Brobbey Taiwo Awoniyi Karim Konaté (badly injured) Terem Moffi (badly injured) and now the under £18.5m valuations (so a real stretch) Italics might be worth a punt Omar Marmoush Dominic Calvert-Lewin Patrik Schick Rodrigo Muniz Beto Arnaud Kalimuendo Jean-Philippe Mateta Jonas Wind Isaac Romero Kévin Denkey Gift Orban Eli Junior Kroupi (but he just turned 18) anything else we are now in the £12m and under range

but you said expectations we should demand someone better than Osimhen, who is a huge name which by nature means another huge name (as we are talking expectations), not rolling dice on some mid-career lower club level player nor does it mean rolling dice on some rando teen My point is that so many posters just toss out a framing (grass is greener, plenty of options, etc) when the actual options are now small as fuck in number as my post defintively showed I have been battling this typology since I joined the board it is lazy posting the 'oh, there are many better options' toss-out with none actually listed the reality is that there is not a fantasyland garden of great players waiting to be plucked
-
Well, who should we be expecting??? This post gives EVERY option valued at or over 40m Euros as well as all the ones who are not available Håland is not available and I doubt would come here until he is an ageing out CF Mbappe (IF you even count him as a CF) is the same Same for Lautaro Martínez (who was my main target for years, after it became clear, years ago, that we would not get Håland) Kane? LOLOLOL the next under those are (including ones who are NOT available, who are struck-through) the only options that MAY meet your expectations and who are actually available are in bold (there are only 4, and one of those is basically impossibly expensive and is oft-injured, and one is soon 29yo, in a few months) these are all the rest of the CFs valued at €40m or above, and in order of valuation: Victor Osimhen (you say is not good enough) Julián Alvarez Alexander Isak (£100m plus) Darwin Núñez hell no, so so overvalued Dušan Vlahović (my 1st choice) Viktor Gyökeres Ollie Watkins soon 29yo Marcus Thuram Rasmus Højlund Gabriel Jesus hell no, so so overvalued, always injured Endrick Loïs Openda Jonathan David (my 2nd choice, and so so low cost, but he may be just going to leave on a free next summer and start a bidding war for a signing bonus) Benjamin Sesko Joshua Zirkzee Ivan Toney Evan Ferguson Gonçalo Ramos João Pedro Mikel Oyarzabal Randal Kolo Muani Santiago Gimenez Victor Boniface Serhou Guirassy Matheus Cunha that is all this is THE post that defines the debate for proven CFs who are valued at £33.75m (€40m) and up I am fine with the project that is Jhon Durán

PFA pushing to stop ‘bomb squads’ as strategy for forcing player exits https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5726144/2024/08/27/pfa-bomb-squad-premier-league/ The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) is pushing for clubs to stop using ‘bomb squads’ as a way to force unwanted players to leave. It has become common for players to find themselves training away from the first-team squad if they are deemed surplus to requirements before the transfer window closes. That has happened at Chelsea this summer, with Raheem Sterling, Trevor Chalobah, and Ben Chilwell all being instructed to train separately from Enzo Maresca’s first-team group. The PFA, the players’ union in England, is aware of what is happening at Chelsea but does not comment on their involvement in individual club cases. In all cases where the PFA has been alerted to what is happening at a club, the first thing they do is to contact the member directly to get their view of the situation and to see how they can support the player. They declined to comment when asked by The Athletic if they are in contact with Sterling, Chilwell, or Chalobah. “We see this tactic used now because there is this opportunity to move players on before the deadline,” James King, general counsel of the PFA, previously told The Athletic when asked about ‘bomb squads’ in 2022. “Managers change and they make an assessment of their squad, deciding that some players are not in their plans. But a player still has an employment contract and that is for a fixed term. The player is an employee and they have rights and protections like anyone else. “This isn’t keeping a player’s skills up to the level they should be. These are professional footballers and the employer is obliged to train them at the highest possible level. “We’ve got to be pragmatic because we understand how the industry works but you’ve got to also understand it from a player’s perspective. A lot of the time they’ve not done anything wrong. It’s just that they’re not fancied.” In 2022, FIFA clarified its regulations on the issue and Article 14 (2) found that making a player train on their own could lead to a club engaging in “abusive conduct”. The PFA lobbied for this guidance to be communicated to clubs because it is rooted in employment law. FIFA’s position on ‘bomb squads’ also gives the players’ union something to reference when they make formal representations to clubs to remind them of their responsibilities. High-profile sports lawyers are anticipating the possibility of future instruction, in case players want to claim it breaches employment law and take their clubs to court.
