Lol, I just goat mouthed Costa, mentioned him in another thread and here he pops up. Goat mouth is an old Bajan (Barbados, of which I am half) expression meaning a person mentions another or mentions a possible upcoming action and they appear out of nowhere or it (the action) happens. I am notorious in my family for thus, lolol

Firmino is essentially a box to box striker. He's a false 9 with the defensive instincts and workrate of a defensive forward. he is like the the defensive-oriented version of the Raumdeuter role with the funneling reversed, he goes TOWARD players Tactical Analysis https://anfieldindex.com/25487/tactical-analysis-roberto-firmino-liverpools-master-space.html

Conte's cock-up with Costa looks worse with each passing week, month, year. Diego would score 30 in Sarriball, and put some steel into the middle. At this point I am all for either recalling Bats and giving him a full half season try, loaning Morata to Derby (not joking) and seeing if Lamps can get his confidence back, and maybe get promoted so Mount gets EPL experience, plus making a move for Anthony Modeste, who is in China, only 30 (so a good 2, 3 year stop-gap) would be very affordable, and scored 34 goals (25 in Bundesliga league games) for a pretty shit (now relegated after he left) Köln team in 43 games all comps in 2016-17.

ZZ will also never want Willian. Barca switches Dembele to LW at times so Malcom gets minutes. They will never sell either and no longer need Willian. I so hope we get more than £100m for Hazard if he wont renew, but I fear you are pretty close. I really think he leaves for Real and not Manure. We would be insane to sell him to ZZ-led Manc team that will probably spend another £150m on top of Eden to satisfy ZZ's shopping list. I can see it now, we are going to lose Eden and CHO (unless Sarri startes given him playing time), renew Luiz and Willian, and only end up selling Drinkwater (Cahill might not even leave if Sarri starts playing him more, as I fear he may rate Cahill atm over Amps and AC) and Bakayoko. Keep the rest ( Moses, Cesc, maybe even Morata!) or loan them out (unless FIFA does that 8 man loan rule, in which case we have to sell 32 players!) IF that all happens (minus the FIFA loan shite) we will end up with Only £150-160m of so from Eden, Bakayoko and Drinkwater sales. How are we supposed to find a striker AND 3 new wingers (one especially world class, as no more Hazard, 3 because we lost 2 LW, and surely we need help at RW) for that? Most we will get for Morata is around £50m, that takes it to £200m. Bailey alone is going to be £70m, at least. Icardi or Dybala £130m to £150m and I am becoming convinced we make no move for either. If ZZ is at Manure, zero chance he sells Martial as Martial will instantly renew. I also am assuming we try for Bailey, as he is a RW and we will once again have Willian and Pedro. Maybe play Willian at LW as the Hazard replacement (shoot me now) and Bailey at RW? If we do sell Morata, buy Bailey, we now would have £130m left. We need a striker and a WC scorer playmaker to replace Hazard. How the hell can we do that for £130m? Remember, all this leaves the team exactly as it is now, minus Eden, CHO, Baka, Morata (maybe) and Drinkwater. Bailey in (if we are lucky). Only £130m to fill multiple, major (especially striker and Eden) positions. I do not expect Roman, if he still owns it, to spend above a net of zero, so that £130m is etched in stone perhaps. Those scenarios are my nightmare come true. TBH, if you were Real or Manure, why would you even drop £100m when you could get Hazard for maybe £50m in January 2020 or for free six months later? RM needed Courtois now (or so they convinced themselves). They don't NEED Hazard now. I would simply wait at this point if I was RM. One year isnt worth 100 million quid. They have two amazing LW'ers now anyway. I have really bad feelings all around. Hopefully I am dead wrong.

If you are referring to the board as in this chatroom, and me as being clueless, then I have to say you are the clueless one. You try to paint it as though I didnt rate Rudiger pre buy (I rated him, still do, highly) and then you (in same same sentence) paint Morata as some success. You can slag out Firpo all you want, he will go for £54m (his release clause) to Shitty. Why? Because he is a great young LB with every tool needed to excel in the EPL. I dont see you putting up any names. Only tossing shade via some snarky Football Manager reference. I have never played or even tried FM. Am I to assume that you are utterly satisfied with Alonso as our LB? If you think my recco's are so dodgy, by all means, feel free to list out alternatives and please, do tell why mine are such shite. I work with what the market has to work with, and go quite deep into why and how players can be brought in or why they shouldn't be brought in. Cheap 'appeals to authority' logical fallacies and rhetoric will get you nowhere. I am not the one who bought Drinkwater, Bakayoko, Morata, Bats, and Zappacosta for over £200m in the last 2 main windows. I am not the one who let KDB, Salah, Costa, Courtois, and Lukaku go for a combined £300 plus LESS than what they are now worth. I am not the one playing ostrich head-in-the-sand normalcy bias-enhanced games with Hazard and CHO and their failure to renew contractual wind-downs that will see them both either leave on frees in June 2020 or be sold at cut-rates prices in the next 3 windows (each one returning less and less). So no bruv, NOT clueless, not in the least. I am all about realistic probability modelling, including using stochastic processes such as Markov chains to account for random variables and to introduce chaos theory elements into the computations. If you meant something else, then I apologise in advance and ask for further elucidation on what you were trying to say.

Ramsey is 28 in two months 29 days (Boxing Day) I really detest him to boot,10 years a goona Only players who remotely interest me on the goonas are Mattéo Guendouzi (long range potential as he is only 19yo) (also, we would have 3 WILD-haired players in him, Luiz and Ampadu!!, lolol) and a short term striker fix with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (short-term becuase he is 30yo before next season starts (pretty wild hair too, lol)

First part (sell Drinkwater, YES) Ramsey earns a

I would add in Sergi Roberto, Kyle Walker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Sime Vrsaljko and my choice for CB, but now also RB too (he is like Azpi in that he can swing between both CBand RB with aplomb) Benjamin Pavard I also want Junior Firpo to replace Alonso, to rebalance the left side as well., Sarriball needs high, hard pressing coming from both the left and the right (and the middle, hello Jorginho and Kante and Ampadu (if Sarri would play the lad, grrr) I don't have as much faith in Pedro as you seem to, mainly because he is not an everyday player and is injury prone due to his small stature and fearless flinging of his tiny body.into harm's way. We NEED Bailey sell Willian to fund its fucking suicidal to keep Willian and even worse to renew his ass I will accept Luiz, BUT NOT WILLIAN OR MORATA My desired back 4 CB Azpi CB Rudiger LB Junior Firpo RB Pavard Luiz, Ampadu, AC, Emerson on rotation , plus another CB (Jonathan Tah (22) OR Nikola Milenkovic (20), both 1.95m giants, but still great passers, and one would be the future hammerhead (Azpi, Pavard, Ampadu, and AC can ALL play both CB and RB so mad flexibility) Sell Zappacosta, Alonso, Cahill, Zouma, Kenedy (generates around £130m, so only an extra £20-30m or so net spend to grab Firpo, Pavard, and Tah (£10m to £20m net to add Firpo, Pavard and Nikola Milenkovic)

Higs and Lewa wanted 5 year deals. Look at Modeste's goals. Those are fucking crackers! I was all on my Baggie mate for years to put a word in with Pulis and the board (he has connections) to talk their cheapass owner into grabbing him. If they had, plus a few more intelligent and low cost buys I also suggested, they would still be in the EPL. My other suggestion they finally did (sack Pulis) but then fucking hired shitbox re-tread Pardew (who promptly destroyed the team). I was pushing Graham Potter HARD (he got OSTERSUNDS, lol, a poor team from here in Sweden into European football AND he is an ex West Brom player). Idiots!!!!

Yes, we were shaking our heads, and thinking, 'FFS! there goes what little confidence Sarri has in him out the bloody window.' He looked rusty, even taking that major cock-up away. Not surprising, seeing as he hardly is put out anymore. Wish to hell Ampadu had played, same for CHO. Emerson looked decent, again not even talking about the goal (which was more a case of right place, right time, but its good to be in the right place, and he was) I already wrote a reply to you on what I think is up with Azpi. End product and Moses are in different postal codes, lol. Was glad to see him get some time though, I love his energy, wish he had technical skills. Caballero looked great, for a change, LOVE to see that. It's the beard I think! He is a tough motherfucker mentally. He made that massive fuckup in the WC, and bounces right back, unlike Karius. Cesc played very well, this system suits him loads better than Conte's 3 4 3. If Rudiger is still out, I would go with CB's Azpi and Luiz (IF Sarri simply will not play Amps) for Saturday's game. Zappacosta at RB We should really look into Christensen (or even better, Ampadu) at RB. AC has played it for Borussia Mönchengladbach and Danmarks fodboldlandshold multiple times in the past. Amps, I think, is like Frenkie de Jong (one of my3 dream signings for MF), insomuch as they can play ANYWHERE on the field, except GK and striker. Finally, I think we all can agree that Álvaro Morata is SHIT and needs to go go go! We HAVE to do striker business in January, its just so motherfucking CRUCIAL I have a crazy temp solution pull Anthony Modeste out of TJ Quanjian in China sign him to a 2 year contract (he is 30yo) He is still a fucking beast these are his stats for one year (2016-17) 45 games, 34 goals, all comps 25 of them in the Bundesliga he buys us time and will be a huge threat, he is crazy good in the air and is BIG and strong, and good at link up play
-
I think he is burnt out a bit. He has put in INSANE minutes the last 6 years. I think he played almost every minute of every game a couple times. Also the contant switching positions, from a RB, then to a makeshift LB, back to RB, then to CB, then to RB again, with RWB tossed in a few times. He was never a hugely offensive player, and also fullbacks in the EPL just get hammered the whole game. My famous stat.... in all football there are only TWO world class LB's over 28. Marcelo (who is on the decline) and Jordi Alba. RB there are maybe THREE. Dani Alves (35yo, so soon is done, his ridiculous FIFA Top XI notwithstanding) Antonio Valencia at Manure (33yo) and Azpi (29). Maybe maybe Danilo D'Ambrosio (30yo)at Inter, but if so, why did they go for Sime Vrsaljko? Because D'Ambrosio is 30 and on down slope, thats why, lolol. For DMF, world class over 30, there is one, Fernandinho (33yo). Not a chance I call 35yo Daniele De Rossi world class anymore, he is a shadow of the player he once was. Same for 35yo Gabi (now cashing in on shit Arab team) 34yo Javier Mascherano, cashing in in China, soon 32yo John Obi Mikel (cashing in in China as well) nor soon 34 yo Riccardo Montolivo and soon 33yo Lucas Biglia, both of AC Milan. Maybe, barely you can make a case for Biglia and maybe maybe 31yo Luiz Gustavo, now on Marseille. I say no. It's a young man's game at fullback/wingback and DMF. Time waits for no one.
-
Out if curiosity, who would you have gone for? Strakosha, obviously for me, was option number two (option 2 in retrospective), then, pre window (as I knew Courtois was outta here), Alisson (who I also knew would be crazy expensive (oh the irony!) Next was Alex Meret, but the poison dwarf snagged him really early. Alphonse Areola next. Then Alban Lafont, 19yo but in fourth year of starting now and probabky will be France number one in 5 years, maybe less (Fiorentina STOLE him for only £7.5 from Toulouse) and finally, Mattia Perin (who Juve stole for only around £10.8m from Genoa, also early in the window).
-
That is his potential flaw, however, he is much tighter now after playing in Italy. Obviously he would be a drop off defensively from Azpi, but so would every other LB on the planet except for possibly Kimmich. I think, especially if we had a great RW'er, his abilities on the offensive side would dramatically outweigh his defensive stance. Henrichs has had some issues too, maybe not so much defensive lack of oace at all, but positioning and tendency to drift at times. Unless we somehow got Sergi or Hysaj or Pavard, there really isn't a truly big upgrade out there. RB is the worst of all the 10 outfield positions in terms of buying options atm. Sidibe perhaps. Semedo has potential, but hasnt been a killer at Barca. Inter have option to buy Sime Vrsaljko AND they want Zappacosta. Maybe we coukd do a swap. Vrsaljko is a beast at both ends. Pavard and maybe him are the only realistic good ones who either will be (Pavard) or potentially maybe (Vrsaljko) remotely available. Sidibe maybe you can toss in. The others (including an expensive Semedo) are much more of a gamble, although if we bought the right one and got (oh noes!) lucky, perhaps that's the answer. Davide Calabria or Conti maybe. I hate not having clear, simple choices, lolol. Pavard or die! (I wonder what his feelings would be about primarily being a RB.)

Real wanted him over De Gea and Courtois, that should tell you something. Early on when we bought him, people were saying he was short, ffs. He is 189.25cm (laser-measured during physical) tall, ie. 6 feet, 2 and half inches. So no weakness there (other than he is not a 2 metre tall giant, BUT if you look at almost all really tall keepers, they are sometimes slow, sometimes awkward, and leave bigger holes between legs (hello Courtois). He is same height as Oblak, basically the same as De Gea (quarter of an inch shorter), almost 2 inches taller than Jasper Cillessen, half an inch shorter than Alisson, taller than Ederson by a cm, an inch and a half shorter than Strakosha, an inch taller than ter Stegen,a quarter of an inch shorter than Meret he is only an inch and half shorter than Manuel Neuer, lol,who everyone thinks is a BIG keeper People freak out because he isn't as tall as Petr Čech (1.96m) or Courtois is, or Donnarumma (196cm), but Čech is horrid with feet, Donnarumma is only average (maybe sub average),and Courtois is oki, but not great The only other 1.95m to 1.99m big keepers atm who are even in top 25 are Alphonse Areola (1.95m) and Wojciech Szczesny (1.96m and please! zero chance I take him over Kepa) Jack Butland is 196cm, I would be losing my shit if we had bought him. Fraser Forster is 2.01m (same as my father) I do not want EITHER near our goal! LOLOL Kepa is a great athlete, he can dunk a basketball with ease, so obviously has great vertical leap, which many tall keepers do not have For comparison, 9 of the all time greatest GK's in history Iker Casillas 1.85m Oliver Kahn 1.88m Gianluigi Buffon 1.91m Lev Yashin 1.89m Gordon Banks 1.85m Neville Southall 1.85m Dino Zoff 1.82m Peter Shilton 1.83m Sepp Maier 1.85m
-
There is one sure way to vastly boost our odds of keeping him. Ratcliffe buys the team, and goes on a spree, also commits to an expedited new stadium, plus offers Hazard wages equal to Sanchez.
-
Yes. He is my 2nd choice for AMF after the much harder to pull Kai Havertz. Zero chance Bayer sells us both Baikey AND Havertz in same window though. It woukd take £120m to £130m to pull that off. We could do that if we did finally start seriously selling deadweight. I am not holding my breath. I have almost no trust in the current board. I am terrified they are going to fuck up the Hazard, CHO, and Kovacic situs as well. Plus STUPIDLY give fucking Luiz and Willian extensions. If they do all of those five the wrong way (especially Hazard and CHO), it's a nightmare we will take years to recover from. Also, they may soon be forced by FIFA to sell THIRTY TWO loanees (due to this insane new 8 man on loan max rule), including forced sales on potentially large sale players. The market will collapse for very young and also middling to oki-but-not-great players, as we will not be the only club dumping dozens into the market. There will be HUNDREDS of forced sales going on. Complete chaos.
