I think it only comes into play at a DEEP psychological level if a player is still with their youth club I dont put a whole lot of weight into it anymore Look at CHO for an example that blows even that link out He is probably going to do us hard and he is as local as they come I don't see how a Geordie (for example) would be any more proud to where our crest than a Portuguese of the same age with same time in the EPL Different people are motivated by different things Look at Mertens at Napoli he is full blown Neapolitan culture and pride now

I think this was missed by many it is not good news Bodström had a reputation as very anti-Russian here too (I forgot to add that) -
Roman supposedly will not sell to any British buyer (buried in the Kepa story) WHAT THE FUCKERY https://blogs.elconfidencial.com/deportes/a-mi-bola/2019-03-04/abramovich-kepa-chelsea-sarri-venta_1858210/ Abramovich and the sale of Chelsea The most curious of all is that Abramovich also has put on sale to own Chelsea, for an amount that exceeds 2,500 million pounds and one condition: that the London club does not fall in any case in the hands of an English buyer . As is well known, the Russian tycoon lost his British residence by not renewing his special residence permit as a prominent investor in the United Kingdom and has taken up residence in Tel Aviv . Like all Jews, and Roman is, he is entitled to Israeli nationality by the so-called Law of Return . The Hebrew press was the first to report that the owner of the Chelsea lodged the application with the Israeli Embassy in Moscow and a few days later he was a citizen there.

the ones I rate as actual top level talent atm GK Angus Gunn CB Nathan Aké (via buyback clause) CB Declan Rice (DMF as well) LB Ryan Sessegnon LB Ben Chilwell RB Reece James (promoted to our main squad, has star potential from what I see) RB Aaron Wan-Bissaka (super pacey, an interesting player, shame he is not a LB) RB Ola Aina (ours and has looked great for Torino, but they are buying him perm) RB Max Aarons (Norwich) <<< mad potential, I would go for him if we miss out on Wan-Bissaka CMF Aaron Ramsey (zero clue where he ends up, I think outside the UK) CMF Lewis Cook (if we HAD to buy an English MF, we should have purchased him over Drinkwater, but a no for me, plus he blew his knee out badly, is done for the year, which is a huge blow for Bournemouth) <<< we shall have to see how he recovers AMF James Maddison (I actually rate him a bit, looks dangerous every time I see him, NOT saying he is Chels level yet) LW Jadon Sancho (Shitty has right of first refusal, so zero chance, he would be a terror in Sarriball) RW Wilfried Zaha RW Reiss Nelson (would love to grab him from Arse, but zero chance) CF Marcus Rashford (they would never sell to us)
-
still ZERO league minutes 283 total top flight last year 887 total top flight minutes (as a 16/17yo)
-
I come up with 17 goals (BUT one of the 17, RLC's, came as a RW) so 16 total one of them was a pen so 15 from open play or free kicks of those only 9 were league goals that is from all seven MF's (Drinkwater and van Ginkel have not even played in the league) we have had on the roster this season 11 total assists, 10 in the league that is WOEFUL production

Matt Law's Chelsea briefing Why Batshuayi is such a valuable commodity By Matt Law Football News Correspondent The Batshuayi advantage (credit: PA) Michy Batshuayi scored his second goal in three games for Crystal Palace at the weekend and, in doing so, gave further encouragement that he might prove to be a valuable bargaining chip for Chelsea. Chelsea hope they can at least delay their two-window transfer ban from Fifa by appealing, which would ensure they would be able to trade this summer. That belief was perhaps best given away by the embarrassing ‘Media Watch’ section on the club’s website that was last week ridiculed for asking supporters which players they would like Chelsea to sign. Putting aside all the reasons why ‘Media Watch’ is a terrible idea for a club such as Chelsea, the feature did at least make it clear that the Blues expect to be able to sign players in the next transfer window. Balancing the books in the transfer market has been a reality for Chelsea since Financial Fair Play was introduced, which makes somebody like Batshuayi such a valuable commodity. Having suffered a difficult first half of the season on loan at Valencia, Batshuayi returned to England to join Palace until the end of the season. The loan deal was completed in the final hours of the January transfer window and promises to prove an important piece of business. Not only is Batshuayi boosting his value by proving he can score goals in the Premier League, ahead of an expected permanent departure in the summer, he also gives Chelsea an advantage over some of their rivals. Palace duo Wilfried Zaha and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will both feature on the wanted lists of Europe’s top clubs this summer, with the Selhurst Park club likely to sell at least one of them. With Eden Hazard expected to move to Real Madrid, forward Zaha would appear to be the most likely target for Chelsea. Wan-Bissaka is a right-back of considerable talent, but the Blues have Reece James waiting in the wings. Palace are expected to try to make Batshuayi’s loan permanent and that opens the door for Chelsea to try to use him in a deal to sign either Zaha or Wan-Bissaka. Other clubs, such as Manchester City and United, may be able to offer more money, but the prospect of taking Batshuayi as part of any transfer may well be more appealing to Palace who have been desperate to land a capable striker. Zaha or Wan-Bissaka would also boost Chelsea’s home-grown quota, which is likely to be hit by the expected departures of Gary Cahill, Danny Drinkwater and Victor Moses, so the club will be hoping Batshuayi keeps hitting the back of the net.
