I have to be honest, even the first couple games back, whilst he was playing 'better' when he is now, I saw no explosive burst, no raw, searing separation speed he had pre-injury (not that I expected to see it so soon after a rupture) and I continue to not see it at all. Is it mental? Does he not trust his Achilles yet to go full blown missile? I cannot answer that. It likely may be a combination of factors, but he certainly is not the physical manifestation atm of the player he was becoming pre-injury. Pre-injury, he was starting to get on the path to a near (or at least fairly close) Adama Traoré level burst, albeit not for the overall length of burst that Traoré (who is staggeringly fast, just not super skilled) exhibits on a regular basis.

Alex Telles, £33.7m release clause can be done in January. Sell Alonso in January to cover most or at least a large chunk, many teams want him, Conte at Inter have said openly they want him. Then, in summer, sell Emerson to Juve (they have wanted him for 2 summers at that point) take that cash to partially fund Chilwell buy. OR use Emerson as makeweight with Leicester as they will need a new LB to replace Chilwell. We then have two great left backs for a total net cash spend of only around £45 to £55m or so and lord knows we have the games to give them plenty of minutes. Pep is burning through THREE atm, due to injuries and rotation, and both of ours at that point are better than anything he has as of now, plus we block him on Chilwell (and block all other clubs.)

IF we draw RB Leipzig, then I do not give a shit about losing the group then. I want to go up against Werner and Ibrahima Konaté (who will be healthy by then) and Nordi Mukiele (one of my two top Azpi RB replacements) and mash the team, so maybe that helps recruit them.
