I dream the same dream my friend. I am secretly holding out hope that PSG hate barca enough that no matter the amount they wont sell, and Verratti wants to join Conte. I know realistically he will be at Barca but until that moment I dream!

I absolutely appreciate how important he has been since he joined us, 2 PL titles is no small feat. But i will be more than happy to see him go, He was beloved by Chelsea fans and it is sad to think he wont be remembered fondly but he has wanted to leave since he got here. He demands things of others but wont reciprocate which is a shame. He will be back at his beloved Atleti somehow in January and we will move on and keep pushing. No hard feelings but sadly there will be few positive thoughts about the player in my mind when he leaves. Thanks for the help getting those titles though.

I think he could be an incredibly dangerous player, has great vision and an amazing shot. He would excel in a free role with hazard behind/around a big striker like Lukaku. Would add a lot to our dead ball threat as well. Problem is always price and dealing with Madrid. I would celebrate his arrival but I find it unlikely it happens.

But my point is that the numbers floated in the media are NEVER right, its all just speculation. Selling clubs throw out obscene numbers and if we don't buy the players for the reported media price our fans automatically think we are no longer ambitious which isnt necessarily the case. As you have said the transfer market has changed, you have to be right on these guys and they have to fit your team or its massive sunken costs. I think the team is still willing to pay for the player they deem worthy and view as a perfect fit for our squad, but they are no longer willing to just splash the cash on anyone because they are a big name or the flavor of the month. I understand that the fear of a relapse to the 15/16 season is fresh in our minds, but I am confident having someone like Antonio Conte in charge it wont happen. He is simply too driven and determined at this stage of his career to allow something like that to happen again. So all I am saying is lets just take a breath and let the summer run its course, Conte has made his requests for new players widely known. If by august we haven't given him anything I will be firmly in the same point of view as you. But for now I am holding out hope and staying positive.

As much as some people prefer Tolisso (Me being one) clearly Conte values him highly and as i said in previous posts he has a Dembele-esque quality to his ball carrying which gives us a weapon we do not currently posses. If we close this deal I am very intrigued by the possibility of Bakayoko/Kante partnership, He has room to continue to mature and develop he is by no means a finished product but what he is at the moment is a very talented physical player who I think makes us better (only by a little) immediately.

A full pre season under Conte then hopefully a PL loan with lots of playing time then integrated into the squad next year. I have high hopes he will make it here, Has the right temperament and a nice skill set to be useful.

Sounds like you've already given up. The market isn't even open yet, all these rumours and "linking" are click bait made up by sites/journalists to drive traffic. Conte has his list of players he wants and his idea of how he wants us to play next year. The board has his list and are working to sign the players. If this were the 12th of August i might agree with you, but its the 12th of June. Take a breath, be positive and we will see how the summer unfolds.

there is still one beautiful italian rooster out there. I would LOVE Belotti here(as always for my silly biased reasons) But I think the Lukaku deal is too far down the road, the player wants it too much to be put off.

It was more due to the fact that we havent been linked to any RB's lately. It was more for a laugh after all of the big name players being linked in the past couple of days (Bonucci, Sandro, Mbappe) Substitue Conti or Semedo if youd like but I havent seen any links to them lately so it wasnt on the top of my mind

But the point is he is still incredibly expensive, he will be cheaper due to PL inflated fees being more expensive than transferring to PSG and Everton being tougher to negotiate with than Dortmund. I like Auba but I don't think he would fit our team, and players whos main weapon is speed always age a little rougher, he will be amazing at PSG but I don't think he is the right choice to be our lead striker with a Conte led team.
