  1. Sacrifice xPetrCechx to the gods for Petr Cech's blatant disregard of the feelings of Chelsea fans all over the world and great act of treachery?
  2. On one side words like that are cringeworthy because you know it's nonsense, but on the other side, what is he supposed to say? Every young player is 'the future'. It stings more in Chelsea's case because you get the feeling no one will ever break through. The Vitesse loan is the equivalent of Michael kissing Fredo in The Godfather.
  3. I'm shocked Bayern of all clubs are willing to pay €35 mil for Costa. That puts him in their top three of their most expensive signings, behind Gotze and Javi Martinez. Quite the investment for them. I think he's a good player but I don't think he can live up to the new Ribery/Robben talk. I don't even think he's good enough to be starter for an elite club like Bayern. It will be interesting to see how he does. They did need a player of his profile so that's a plus. This does show all the great wide men are settled or ridiculously expensive (in general or compared to their status and ability).
  4. Seriously? You claim to know Griezmann but you don't know he's left-footed?
  5. I wouldn't sell him to Arsenal or any other domestic rival (including Spurs and Pool) for £20m. A special message for them:
  6. If the interest is true, it really does say something though. Then he really is immensely talented. Youth players can go on to join other big clubs and surprise in some capacity. Think Cesc to Arsenal or Pogba to Juventus. If Musonda is unhappy about not playing, I don't see what reason the club have not to send him out on loan. The Championship and Vitesse loans haven't proven to be effective. If he really is good enough, he should have no problem becoming a regular at the club of his choosing. Whether it's a lesser side like PSV or a big side like Valencia. If he proves himself at a club like Valencia, he has proven the manager wrong and he can come back as a worthy first team player. If he doesn't manage to do so, he comes back and tries his luck at a lower level. Preferably on loan again or permanently.
  7. Not good enough for the Mikel role then. Too bad. Ake has wasted too many years at Chelsea tbh. He would be smart to leave the club and join a Eredivisie side. He should be good enough to play for a top 5 side there. Get some exposure and develop. I understand the wages at Chelsea are good but for the sake of his career. He can become more than a decent player.
  8. Pogba to join Real and available to buy in three or four years.
  9. I think it's time we get used to the new shift. I mean, there was a time when Lampard was a record signing for £11m or something. Not to mention the days before then. It seems the money in football keeps growing and has no ceiling.
  10. The suits should watch more basketball!
  11. I have to say, the rumours aren't that strong imo. We see these stories every summer. Hulk, Aguero, Falcao (previous years) and countless other stories. I wouldn't be surprised if Hazard-Oscar-Willian was the starting '3' next season.
  12. Turan is a fantastic player, but I don't think he improves Chelsea tbh. He works brilliantly in Atletico's set up, because of his hard work, the quality of his defensive play (probably the best defensive natural attacking midfielder out there) and his strong technique, but he's not player to make the difference. And he's the wrong type of player imo, as Oscar, Willian and Cuadrado offer similar qualities. Rather see someone like Walcott joining, who is inferior, but complements the other options. Chelsea's problem last season was finishing games off. Chances were there, but the ball didn't go in. The quality of the performances in the big games is another issue.
  13. Mourinho has made it well known he's not giving up on Oscar. I would not have minded Oscar leaving for good money this summer, as long as a quality player came in to replace him, but I'm convinced Mou is serious about Oscar. So I'm just waiting to see how it turns out, and I hope Mourinho is right. The league and the League cup were won with the likes of Oscar and Willian so it's not like the club is in a poor position, desperately needing to improve. So I'm slowly starting to accept a bit of patience, even though I'd like to see it differently, is required.
  14. Agree with the last part of your post. Don't buy for the sake of buying. Get someone who can score goals or don't bother. Rather buy a big talent like Fekir, see how the likes of Willian, Oscar and Cuadrado do and make changes next summer if necessary and/or quality players are available. And looking at Mourinho's words, the club is not in the mood to just buy. Don't blame them at all.
  15. Shots fired... Mourinho loves taking credit for everything - Pellegrini http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2015/06/24/13013502/mourinho-loves-taking-credit-for-everything-pellegrini?ICID=HP_BN_2 Question is whether this is true.
  16. I don't think the story is true. Chels can easily get around €20-25 mil for Salah. To offer €50 mil + Salah is excessive. I can see them making an offer at some point but not that. Seems more like a last resort offer, like in the final weeks/days of the transfer window.
  17. Not many teenagers, in this case one with 0 experience, start for clubs like Ajax and PSV, especially PSV. They aren't exactly known for placing a lot of importance on youth. And it's even harder for an outsider. Perform or you're benched for one of their own. So again, if Musonda were to go to PSV and become a starter, he's a very impressive talent as that's not easy.
  18. People throw around the word legend far too easily. Don't suck for 4-5+ years and you're already a legend. I know it's somewhat different with Chelsea, because of the change under Abramovich, but still, set the bar a bit higher. Anyway, Petr rocks and that will never change. The only GK I've ever loved. No tarnished reputation for me. A world-class performer that was replaced with an eye to the future. He's not leaving because he wants to, and he did not come up with 'clever' ways to fool the fans when moving to a rival. So he's allowed to go where wants. Doesn't mean I like it though. Not one bit. I'll always think of Cech when I think of CL 2012. Godly performances that year.
  19. I'd be very impressed if some academy kid could go to PSV and command a spot in the first XI.
  20. If it does turn out to be a quiet summer, it's not exactly surprising considering the fact Mou has stated to expect low transfer activity again and again, and again.
  21. This is what annoys me. They won't do business with Chelsea regarding they're own players. That's not right. I understand players wanting to stay in the country and all that, but it gets to the point where you have to take a stance and stop the madness. Remember the Modric saga? He wanted to join but Levy said no. I'm still slightly upset about that. There's the business with Liverpool but they either turned out to be average (Mereiles), crap (Benayoun) or an abomination (Torres). I hope the club demands one of their players. I'd take Theo. Either that or make some kind of deal of being able to buy from them in the future as well.
  22. I know I would sell Griezmann if Martinez is joining. For the right offer that is. €30-35 mil + Luis would mean a quality LB + extra cash to spend on top of the money from the sales of Mandzukic, Miranda and Alderweireld (€40-45 mil). Oliver Torres returning, and Correa possibly eligible to play next season, supposed to be a very big talent, adds depth to the squad. Same goes Velasquez. Not sure though, as they have that rule of only 3 non-EU players allowed in the squad. But I also understand Simeone wanting some regularity in his team. Selling both Mandzukic and Griezmann would mean yet another new striker duo. It all depends on his plans for next season. He might make tweaks to his team as he's been using similar tactics for three years. Atletico are in a very good position to grow and they're no longer underdogs. Like Simeone said, only three teams are significantly stronger than Atletico.
  23. It's very possible. Vietto is not ready to perform on a weekly basis yet. He wasn't even a weekly starter for Villarreal.
  24. The attacking midfielders did not have fixed positions. Constant position switching.
  25. Outstanding play for the assist (Luis playing him in on the left flank). Controlled the ball with his left and immediately went past his marker with his right, great burst of speed. Good delivery with the outside of his right foot. That's more like it, Willian. That directness. More of the same, please. EDIT: Found the superb long pass he played early in the game. The swerve in the pass is ridiculous. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mUn5OX-WCo I can't get over how perfect that pass was. Jaw-dropping stuff.
