I get what you mean about them working like a perfect machine (don't agree with you about it getting old though) now but you're talking about a preffered style of play though. I'd rather watch a team with great individual artists like Ronaldinho back in his prime or Ibrahimovic too since you'll never know what happens But I'm talking about talking about the best team as in there hasn't been a better team. The level this team can reach is absolutely astonishing and when they reach it, they can crush every single team out there. They reached that level against Real Madrid and sadly for them, they proved what i mean. About Spain, they were simply a lesser side than current Barcelona or Euro 2008 Spain. They lacked serious firepower with Villa their only real threat up front with Torres in horrible form. Del Bosque also played with two defensive midfielders so they were less dominating and lacked a man up front. The World Cup was simply a disaster because of defensive tactics, a lack of great sides and horrible ball. Yeah but there also talks going around about this Barcelona side being the best ever. I really don't think the Spanish League back than (in the 50's !) had the likes of Atletico, Villarreal, Sevilla and Valencia (or what about Deportivo back in the learly 2000's) in their league. I don't even think club football in general was (really) competitive back then. I mean, winning 5 European Cups/CL's in a row... And there hardly any talks about other (great) teams except for the Great Real Madrid side.

Hmm. Let me first explain that i was talking about club teams if that wasn't clear. About your well-oiled machine comment, i don't think you can compare that comment about Chelsea with Barcelona. If i'm not wrong you're talking that run that led us to the title but you can't compare a ,what about 10-15 games, run to a team that has been playing incredible since 08/09 season and even got better and better. And i hope you and i agree that just because a team isn't winning the CL every year, they're not the best team around. And about the legendary Real & Milan teams, did you actually see those team play to make a statement like that? And do you know that those teams were actually playing in a competitive league? And do you watch current Barcelona's matches?(i know, a lot of questions ) And keep in mind that i'm not saying current Barcelona is the best team in football history, just to make that clear.
-
I guess i just should've named Barcelona's starting line-up in the Dream Eleven thread. They're looking unstoppable at the moment and are crushing everybody in their way with unbelievable football. I think we're witnessing the best team in football history.

Chelsea PL Dream Team: Cech Bosingwa Ivanovic Terry Cole Essien Fabregas Lampard Valencia Dzeko Ronaldo All you need is about €1.2 billion. Realistic team next year Cech Bosingwa Ivanovic Terry Cole Essien PP* Lampard Agüero/IS?* Drogba/Dzeko Malouda *PP - pure playmaker *IS - improved Sturridge?
-
Yeah you're right. Neymar shoud go to Spain or even Italy and just enjoy his football and the beautiful weather. The PL is too physical for him and i never thought he would be happy getting kicked around (especially a player of his age). Ganso however is a different case like you said. A midfielder like him should succeed in all major leagues. He would have to get used to and adjust to the high tempo of the PL since they play in a much lower tempo in the Série A (Brazilian league). Probably the reason why Brazilians are so succesful in the Italian league. Ganso would be perfect for the Serie A but i hope he joins us, doubt it though. But this thread is about Neymar.

Exactly what i said before the Tottenham game. Would love to see how that could work out. But yeah it's only a dream, CA doesn't like to experiment.
-
Ganso is a GREAT player. It's incredible how good he already is, being only 20 years old. His passing, ball control and technique is incredible and he's strong too. How i wish he would join us.

Internazionale. Revenge

We can only dream MM. Hopefully Bos will be fit and Lamps fit enough to start.

By James Daly They say the best ideas are the most obvious and football is no different; score more goals than the opposition, play your best players, don't wear a black blazer with a blue jumper. But there seems to be a shocking lack of creativity emanating from the manager's office at Stamford Bridge at the moment as Chelsea suffer their worst slump since Roman Abramovich dropped anchor in west London, leaving serious questions marks around Carlo Ancelotti's decision making. The call to leave Didier Drogba on the bench at White Hart Lane raised more than a few eyebrows, especially when the Italian claimed it was for tactical reasons. As far as ideas go, omitting your best player from a top of the table clash is hardly up there with the invention of penicillin. But it had been preceded by a handful of others. Playing Paulo Ferreira in an unfamiliar centre-back position during the absence of John Terry and Alex was spectacularly exposed by Sunderland's Asamoah Gyan and Danny Welbeck. Replacing Ramires with Nicolas Anelka while trying to cling onto a 1-0 lead at home to Everton (which was ultimately unsuccessful) was jeered by the home faithful. And getting rid of the much loved Ray Wilkins has received no little condemnation from Blues quarters. Yet the decision to consign Drogba to the subs bench on Sunday ranks up there with the bizarrest. Especially as his side were taking on a team who have kept just one clean sheet all season, had a centre back returning from injury and a goalkeeper who is fond of a clanger or two. He may have had a stinker in the meaningless Champions League game at Marseille in midweek but the big Ivorian has proved in the past that he can deliver the goods in the important clashes - and did it again at White Hart Lane, only this time in just the 45 minutes he was given. Granted, he had some fortune as Heurelho Gomes generously spilled his left-foot volley into the net to bring Chelsea level, but the Blues looked considerably brighter, more confident and bullish once the No. 11 had been introduced. And Drogba's penalty miss can't be ignored as the Chelsea forward spurned the chance to earn the Blues an undeserved victory in the final minutes of the match, breaking his usual form of going to the goalkeeper's right by giving Gomes a comfortable chance of palming away a poor kick to his left. But it can perhaps be forgiven after the Ivorian had dragged his side back into it almost single handedly. Got the Blues | Sunderland take advantage of unsettled Chelsea For anyone wondering if the 1-1 draw hinted at any serious title challenge from Spurs, it didn't. The encounter was classic Tottenham; piling forward with gusto, looking like world beaters in spurts, but regarding their defensive duties with the sort of reluctance Sir Alex Ferguson pays to post-match interviews. If it wasn't for the excellent display by the returning Michael Dawson, this match would have surely ended in an away win. Reaction from the Spurs camp that the north Londoners are still in with a shout of the league title was less than convincing after the match and was more a case of Harry Redknapp's side trying to convince themselves that was the case, rather than anyone else. Meanwhile, Ancelotti needs to have proper brainstorm or he is going to find his side losing grip on the title race. Leaving Ramires and Essien in the middle of a 4-4-2 with Kalou lost out on the right wing is not the reaction of a title-winning manager, and choosing Anelka over Drogba for your biggest game of the season is not the brightest move in the world. With other teams starting to suss out Chelsea, the Italian needs to come up with some answers, and quick. http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2010/12/13/2258756/english-comment-carlo-ancelotti-has-run-out-of-ideas-to-save

Best striker in the league but his salary is ridiculous.
-
And again Barcelona play ''out of this world'' football and crush their opponent (5-0). They have scored 108 goals in the competition in the league alone, on the verge of breaking a record. Messi scores twice, Villa getting better and better. Iniesta in the form of his life. This might be their season to win it all again . Real also won. Great free kick by Ronaldo. The kind i like, over the wall instead of through them.
-
Between John, Modric and Gomes for me. Tough pick.
-
JT should give him a kick up the ass. Sadly CA adores him (why i will never know). The man slows down our play and i don't know why people don't see how damaging that is to our play. And then you look at Kalou. He tries, he really does but he just isn't Chelsea starting material. The guy's 25 years old but his decision making is so poor. Doesn't know when to pass, when to shoot, when to dribble, when to turn around and pick a short pass. And what's up with his pace? One day he seems quick with the ball but than the other day he seems not be able to get forward with the ball. It's a strange thing. Again Sturridge comes on lively and i don't know why CA just doesn't give him a start. Today he showed he isn't a bad crosser as well.

I don't agree with those who state we played a (very) good game. It was okay. All that possession was nice and all but we hardly created chances. Come to think of it, not once did i think ''that should've gone in'' except for the penalty and the subime Palacios header almost heading into own goal. We still have to improve a lot. You don't win games by dominating in possession and creating half chances. Good Fantastic to see Lamps finally back (sadly he's human and he wasn't visible at all). And wtf is up with us getting punished for every little mistake we make? It's so unfair.
-
We don't know what winning is anymore.
-
The support for our front three is HORRIBLE. We haven't crossed this much in ages but there's no one in the box. And passing tempo is too low.
-
What about Mikel moving away from Pavlyuchenko and giving him all the space to shoot...
-
Nicolas, i'm almost begging you here (and i know you're reading this), please please stay up front. From a Chelsea fan who has connections and can easily find out where you live.

I agree with you about Josh but i already ruled out that chance, we know our manager. Oh well, let's just hope we manage to scrape a win.
