  1. Cech Ivanovic - Terry - Luiz Bosingwa - Mikel - Lampard - Cole Anelka Drogba - Torres Kickin' it oldskool. *Bosingwa and Cole as true wingbacks, this way they can attack a lot more since we'll always have Ivan, Luiz, Terry and Mikel at the back. And when facing a dangerous counter-attack from the wings of the opposition, Luiz can drift a little to the left, Ivanovic can drift a little to the right and Mikel then slots next to Terry. *Either Mikel, Ramires or Essien next to Lampard. I prefer Mikel since he's the best passer of the three, has the best technique, can handle being pressured pretty well and him loving to stay in front of the defence will allow Lampard to go forward. Mikel not being the most solid in the defensive department wont be as noticeable with the support of the three defenders. *Anelka linking midfield and attack. We need a 'mover' in that position. Someone who'll roam around, always being available to receive a pass and being able to to keep the ball with him (being hard to dispossess). Anelka is that player. When he does it in his role from the right it's annoying since he leaves a gap there. But in a free role behind the strikers, it can be really effective and he can be very crucial. And as great bonus, when we attack we'll have three absolute lethal players in and around the box. Anelka will have to work on passing the ball quicker, improve his decision-making and one-touch pas a lot more to keep the tempo high. Malouda is also option for the role but I think the role suits Anelka more. Kakuta can play the role too when he comes back. So fierce competition for the role.
  2. Exactly what I was thinking, going oldskool. Would love to see that. Great deal. Good job Chelsea negotiators . 23 is my favourite number so if he wears it, i'll automatically like him. But I think he should wear 4, it suits him and Sturridge already has it. Number 6 would look nice too.
  3. I know you and CA are lovers and all BlueLion but give the man who makes all this possible the credit he deserves .
  4. Fernando, all I ask is for you to be fit for at least 80% of every season. I'll even take 75% if you're fit for the important games. That's all i'm asking for Fernando.
  5. New question: How does Torres fit in our system? We don't have the wingers for a 4-4-2 system and the diamond sucks.
  6. Off topic: Gudjohnsen and Kakuta (most likely) at Fulham .
  7. Agree. You could tell he wasn't happy at all. Would have love to see him here at Ajax.
  8. Haha if I said they would go out and steal them, we wouldn't be making money off them though .
  9. Scousers will probably go out and buy (Chelsea) Torres shirts just to burn them. Money Money Money Mooooney !
  10. For some reason it always cracks me up when somebody says that .
  11. I'm with you guys. This is insane. I can already imagine reading 'Fernando Torres is injured' like a thousand times. You can get Caroll/Hulk/Cavani (25-35 mil pounds) + Alexis Sánchez/Ashley Young (20-25 mil pounds) for 50 mil pounds (or a little over 50 mil).
  12. 45 mil + Anelka . That's ridiculous. Who are we, Real Madrid?
  13. It's sad isn't it. Although Everton weren't much better than us today. Currently we're worse than we were under Scolari.
  14. No words for the second half performance. Everton deserved to win but thanks to Kalou, again great goal, we get a replay. It seems we just can't perform the way we should. Starting to wonder if we'll ever get back to the way we used to be. Cech - 8 Bosingwa - 5 Ivanovic - 5 Terry - 5 Cole - 3.5 Essien - 4.5 Ramires - 5.5 Lampard - 4 Anelka - 5 Drogba - 3 Malouda - 3.5 CA we have a serious problem. Please fix it.
  15. Great finish by Kalou, has to be said. He was lucky to get the ball though, Ramires tried to control it but failed .
  16. Again poor, poor first half. I think it's official now, we can't create chances from build-up play anymore. We just pass the ball around with no imagination, no idea. It's so sad to see. We've become so static. We were always pretty static but now it's ridiculous. Our players up front just stand still except for Anelka who seems up for it these last three games or so. The concept of possession/build-up play is move, receive, pass. What we do is, stand still and pass. You won't get anywhere playing like that and even a League One side can defend against that. We only seem to be dangerous on the break but even on the break you spot our lack of real pace which messes up those opportunities too. We've been like this since October yet the club's main target this transferwindow was a CB. I couldn't believe it, still can't believe it. We need (effective) movement (and players who can go past men) up front and pure playmaker in the middle. Only then will the 4-3-3 formation work. The best thing to do now would be to bring Josh in centre midfield, not defensive midfield, and take off Malouda (who has poor for months) for Kalou since Sturridge isn't on the bench. Haven't really enjoyed a Chelsea game since September I think .
  17. Come on Chelsea. A good performance this time. I'll take a 1-0 win together with a good performance over any 4-0 win together with a crappy performance*. Time to play like a true topside again. *except if it was against Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool, City or Spurs .
  18. Hope this doesn't go through. Torres has been slightly above average at best ever since the 09/10 season, showing glimpses of his class from time to time, and there's no way anyone can be sure he can become the old Torres again. Not to forget the fact that he's super injury-prone. 35 mil pounds is a lot(!) of money, too much of a risk if you ask me. The club should've gone for Dzeko if they were looking for a striker. He would've been perfect but that's out of the question now.
  19. Whether you see place for him in this team is different issue but judging him on his amount of assists is just wrong and stupid. Like i said, he doesn't play high enough up on the pitch to be the man delivering the final pass and football is so much more than statistics. And he was bought for 1.5 mil by the way. In these times, paying 1.5 mil for a player is like paying nothing at all. Stoch had a great first half of the season, sucky second half of the season. Stoch was a player of the best team in the league, they became champions. Matic plays for one of the worst teams in the league. I don't think i have to explain to you that there's huge difference in playing for one of the worst teams and playing for the best. Everybody here in Holland can see Matic is a talented player with great ball control and technique. But he's lazy and he's become a ball hog, probably due to the fact that he clearly hates playing for this team. They even dubbed him as being arrogant, something which was certainly not the case here at Chelsea. He can't wait to leave Vitesse and is acting up because of that.
