We should've killed them. They didn't realise they were playing CL football until their were only 20 min left. But I guess we can't expect that to happen with the way we've been playing so 0-2 is a good result. Still need to improve a lot though. We need to play with a lot more tempo and need to improve in the final third. Torres desperately needs a goal. And thank you Blackpool.

Copenhagen didn't do their homework, they're allowing us so much time and space on the ball. Great news for us though. And we're playing in one weird formation.
-
Exactly. Not making the top four would be a disaster on so many levels.

I'd like to see (realistic): Cech Bosingwa - Ivanovic - Terry - Cole Mikel Ramires/Essien - Lampard Kalou - Torres - Zhirkov Probably will be: The team you put up or Cech Bosingwa - Ivanovic - Terry - Cole Essien/Mikel Essien/Ramires - Lampard Anelka Drogba - Torres Probably wins ! Official line-up Cech Bosingwa - Ivanovic - Terry - Cole Essien Ramires - Lampard Anelka - Torres - Malouda

How Fernando Torres Has Begun To Pay Back The £50 Million Chelsea Paid For Him It's a good read.

That's Messi for ya. His ball control is up there with the very best to have graced the game.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11668_6766865,00.html (watch the video) Agree with the isolated comment (and the other obvious stuff of course). The man doesn't have a number two and hardly speaks with anyone. The club really screwed up with that decision.

Yeah but it's the manager's job to keep his players motivated and confident. Our 'whole' team is out of form and that's not something that just happens. That means their's something wrong within the squad and it's the job of a manager to fix it. And he should've prepared himself for something like loss of form with key players in their thirties. But according to him age doesn't matter (I even think he said if you're in your early thirties, you're still young...) and the likes of Drogba and Terry can/will perform until their late thirties. That's not really happening is it? Probably didn't realise the PL is not the Serie A. About Kakuta, that's not the point. At least by playing, you give him the game time and experience he needs to grow. And that way the ageing starters get the rest they need.

Yeah said the same thing. If we don't finish in the top four, not a single quality would want join us since we don't offer ridiculous wages anymore (I think). The problems will just get worse and worse. Man Utd were lucky that during their own 'bad moment', they still qualified for the CL with ease.
-
Never said that. But if the young players would play more, at least we'd have something to look forward too in the next seasons. I can take a season without winning a single thing but at least give me something to look forward too.
-
Our form since November puts us 10th in the league, with 19 goals scored and 19 goals conceded in 16 games. I don't think that would happen with the names you mentioned.
-
Exactly, we have nothing to look forward too. Some say we're in the process of building a new team.. what new team? It's the same old players over and over again and the young players never play. Unless Roman's decides to spend ridiculous money in the summer, something I wouldn't support because that would prove we're nothing without spending a lot of Roman's money, things are looking bad.
-
Our line-up today: Cech Ferreira Ivanovic Terry Cole Mikel Ramires Lampard Malouda Drogba Kalou Malouda owes us a good performance. Can't remember the last time he played really well.
-
Ancelotti: I only want to coach team in the Champions League
-
You really think so? He's been one of their most consistent performers this season.
-
Even though he plays for the dark side, I will always have great respect for this man. Great footballer and what he's showing this season is amazing (he's been a lot better than any of our players this season except for Cech, Terry and Ivanovic). We can only dream of having a player like him, 20 faithful years at his club (going for 21), at our club in these times and still being a vital member of the team.
-
Frank should be rested. If i'm right, ever since he came back, after recovering from his injury, he played every single game we've played. That's too much for someone his age and he isn't even performing so it would be best to rest him. That way he'll be fresh for the Copenhagen match. I would rest Terry, Essien and Cole too. They deserve some rest since they always play. Would be a good opportunity to give Bertrand a shot and bring Cole on around the 60th min if needed. Something like this: Cech Bosingwa - Ivanovic - Luiz - Bertrand Mikel Ramires - Louda/Josh Josh/Anelka Drogba - Kalou/Anelka or Cech Bosingwa - Ivanovic - Luiz - Bertrand Mikel Ramires - McEachran Kalou - Drogba/Anelka - Malouda *Would go for the players in bold But since I know Ancelotti, I know it wont happen. Expecting this: Cech Ivanovic Luiz Terry Cole Essien Ramires Lampard Anelka Drogba Malouda

The MLS over the Ligue 1? I hope you're kidding..
-
Hamsik is not a playmaker. He's Lampard-ish.
-
If a hug is all he needs to start banging in goals, I'll gladly do it .
-
I have no idea. He used to be great at making very quick, twisty turns, which helped him a lot in 1 on 1 situations with defenders along with the great burst he used to have since he never had great ball control, but I haven't seen him doing that in a long time. We're talking about the man who shrugged off the likes of Ferdinand but he's been losing a lot of physical tussles lately. But that may be because of a lack of effort and determination.
-
I agree that he's still a pacey, said it in my first post, but just nowhere near as fast. His acceleration was incredible back in 08. About the part I put in bold, yeah that's what I can only hope will happen.
-
I doubt it. Ronaldo also lost pace because of injuries and he never became as fast and agile as he was in his Inter/Barca/PSV days again. He was like 24 back then. Instead he became the best finisher around in his Real Madrid days (and things like his positional sense and anticipation became legendary).
