Are you serious? They had the likes of Dida (back when he was world-class), Nesta, Maldini, Pirlo, Gattuso, Seedorf, Rui Costa, Shevchenko, Pato, Inzaghi in their team (through the years). Wouldn't you call that team world-class? You're confusing me right now. Why do you keep hammering on that 06 year? What I do know is that in the 06/07 season they mostly played with one striker (Inzaghi) and Kaka played the supporting striker role and they won the CL that season. After that, their team started to decline. But he was the manager of a team that was without a doubt world-class for 6 years (2001-2007), you could argue about the quality of the team in two following years.

I remember him doing a very good job in the playmaker role vs Zilina in the CL and the reason I keep mentioning Benayoun is the fact that he's our only (creative) hope and he and Torres were teammates for years. And there's no real understanding needed in a 'Torres makes a run of the shoulder of a defender, Benayoun spots it and attempts a pass' situation.

I agree with 4-3-3 being Chelsea's formation but it's useless with Anelka and Malouda as our wingers. And I'd rather play with Benayoun instead of Lampard. And Bosingwa at RB instead of Ivanovic?

Again a poor performance from Frank but today he was shocking, hope the club is looking for a replacement. Absolutely love the guy but no room for sentiments when he's simply not performing. We need a new midfield, starting by making Mikel a starter (replacing Essien.. can't believe i'm saying this but those two major injuries have 'killed' him).
